We are a team of Chicagoans with diverse backgrounds, interests and professions with one thing in common; a fascination with the Burton History Tree. At all different points in our lives we were individually exposed to Bruce Burton’s art. Business Owner
I have pursued a life in the service of good people, excellent products and remarkable ideas.
My earliest working days were at Chalet Nursery in Wilmette, IL. Larry Thalman III rolled the dice on a nerdy looking 14 year old who just got cut from the Freshman High School Baseball Team.
I went to the University of Illinois (Urbana) where I studied Hospitality Management under the direction of Beth Reutter (yes, she is Katherine’s mom) and Jim Painter where I interned for Ben Pao and Wildfire Restaurants (Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises).
I then joined Charlie Trotter’s, a world-renowned restaurant in Chicago’s Lincoln Park before jumping up the supply chain to one of his distributors, Chicagoland Beverage Company (CBC). While servicing a Who’s Who list of Chicago Hospitality at CBC, I worked in their Warehouse, Purchasing and Customer Experience departments.
