Love this place. What do you need? Organic chicken feed? Wild game bird feed? a heated water bowl? A chicken heating pad? They’ve got it, or can get it. And… they even help you load your giant bag of grain in your car. So, unlike the proverbial «Little Red Hen», you do not have to do it all by yourself.

Went in yesterday and bought 3 fully grown laying hens, 50# of chicken feed, a bale of hay, a feeder, a waterer, and a 5# bag of oyster shell. The chickens ran $ 25 each, which I feel was a fair price for proven layers that are only a year old (taking their word on that, which seems to be good). They’re holding the chickens for me until tomorrow after I’ve set everything up properly for them. The total with the chickens was $ 161.00 out the door. I think that everything was fairly priced and the owner was VERY helpful to me, gave me advice, and even helped me put the items into my car. I wish their parking lot was a little easier to get in and out of, but other than that (and the bees, ewwwww!) so far so good!

Belmont Feed & Seed is bodacious. I go there all the time to get feed and giant bags of mealworms for our hens. The owners of the shop are friendly and helpful and anytime things pop up that I don’t understand with my flock I just give them a call and they always take the time to give me great advice and guidance. Go there for your birdie needs and you won’t be disappointed! Our chickens are happy healthy pets and Belmont Feed & Seed is a huge part of that.

Chicago chicken owners — this place is a total gem for your chicken supplies. Organic feed, grit, oyster shells, chicks (pullets — not mixed run!!!). The store is absolutely spotless and exceptionally clean. Just north of Logan Square, easy street parking, and easy on/​off of the x-​way for you folks on the far NW side.

Trying to find a new place for all my bird needs… i have had cockatiels for 15+ years. Does not look they get a lot if business so id be hesitant to buy food out of fear of getting seed moths. They did have a shelf full of medicine bottles that looked like nutrients. This place looks more like the place to go if you are looking to buy 40lbs of bird feed for your chicken coop.

If you like pigeons, this is the place for you. I stopped in here for some Cockatiel Chow, having noticed it while driving by. The place is full of thigs that go coo coo coo. The back room had some designer pigeons for $ 300 — $ 500, Regular pigeons cost more than a used fish net on a long pole, & that’s all you’d need on the lake front, or Civic Center. The Bird chow was priced well, & our bird likes it just fine. I don’t understand why anyone would ‘buy’ a pigeon when some people just can’t get rid of them, but… that’s what makes this such a great city.
