I borrowed a child to go to the very first BLD and actually made it a pretty frequent event for all the little angels in my life. Yes, it helped that I lived across from the Park West, before the Metro gigs, but yes, like a fish out of water movie, I spent many an afternoon, grooving and giggling with the Pamper Posse. It cracks me up that there is a stroller line a mile long and the parents are usually more excited than the kids but once the music starts and the babes start busting moves, it proves one universal fact: Babies Do Love Disco. Great kiddie snackage available too but now that its at Metro I have issues. I’ve spent a lot of time up to no good at Metro, and I don’t want to taint the tiny ones! ********************************************************************************] Please note that Baby Loves Disco is not a music venue located at Metro but rather an ongoing promotion that often changes locations throughout the city. They have moved from Park West to Metro and various other music venues. Please check the Baby Loves Disco website to insure accurate information and locations. Baby Loves Disco is basically an opportunity to bring your baby to da’ club with you and, as wrong as that may sound, it is a really good time to be had by all. Tickets are $ 12 for all«walking humans» and includes platters of healthy and organic snacks, juices, veggie chips, etc. And booze is available for the non-driving parent/guardian! It was really nice to be in a fun environment for my baby, but to be able to be treated like an adult at the same time and drink a mimosa — nobody was there getting hammered or anything even close, just to pre-answer any concerns. The DJ was the same one from the night before at Metro and was pretty decent, spinning a pretty tame pop-ish/clubby mix, but no where near Radio Disney or anything like that. I was a little creeped out by the nasty factor, considering the germs and activities that could be lurking on Metro surfaces from the night before, but having actually frequented places that cater to kids, I know there’s nothing there that a CSI test of Chuck E Cheese couldn’t beat.
