I just got into several top choices for business school! It definitely would not of happened without the help of my tutor Steve.
Like many others, I really don’t have a lot of time to study. Between work and having a boyfriend, I just wasn’t getting enough done with the GMAT. I took the real exam once and only scored a 510. That really is not high enough for anyone to get into a top program and I needed to retake the exam with enough time to complete applications and get my GMAT score in by the end of round 3 (at the latest).
He had an amazing way of teaching material that I didn’t see in any books or through other classes. We looked at both content and test taking methods which helped me immensely.
I raised my score by almost 200 points (I scored a 700 flat) and couldn’t be happier. I’m so grateful to Steve for all of his help. Arbor Tutors is great!

I took a tutoring package with Sarah and — really — it is the best thing I could have done to prep for the GRE. Arbor Tutors is really the best and they focused on understanding the material and the test itself, in order to produce the best scores. I thought Sarah was a fantastic teacher as well — she really takes time to help students and seemed to genuinely care and want success for us. Super smart and good at teaching.
Preparation is a lot of work — don’t come in thinking someone’s going to do the studying for you. They ABSOLUTELY help with planning.
There’s a substantial amount of homework each week (a few hours per night) and honestly, don’t bother taking the class if you’re not prepared to buckle down. There were some other people who did the tutoring package for the GMAT and they were constantly unprepared, and others who were on top of things. Why spend the time and money if you aren’t going to study?
I took the GRE three weeks after my tutoring ended, and I ended up with a 99th-​percentile score.
The GRE or GMAT can seem like a huge obstacle in the beginning, and even with the help of a prep class it’s a lot of work — but it is doable. I’d highly recommend Arbor Tutors.
