Arandas Tires is the best resource for tires in the city! I was happy to find them last month, after blowing a tire for a third time since December, on two dirferent cars (thanks Chicago!).
Erny was super kind and took care of me right away. Sold me replacement tire, and sent me over to garage where his mechanic Nuñez put the tire on quickly and properly.
Erny takes care of his customers’ needs, and that’s why I will be buying two rear tires from them this w/​e, and why they are the best tire shop in the city… bar none!

I was looking for new rims for a Porsche and stopped in here. The salesman seemed annoyed to be helping me out. I could hardly understand his mumbling. Needless to say, I went elsewhere

Wow, very impressed! I had a flat tire and wanted to get it patched, so I called around. Midas, Firestone, etc… all said it would take 3 – 4 hours and cost about $ 35 to get fixed. I live right by Arandas, so I figure why not I will try it. I pull in and get immediate service. The 2 guys fixed it right in front of me within 5 minutes and only charged $ 20! I don’t know if the service is always this good, maybe they were just slow today? Regardless, it was a great experience!

They are absolutely ridiculous about pricing. Called to get my wheels swapped (already mounted) from winter to summer and they quoted me $ 60, I did say that was expensive and he lowered it to $ 40– this is a service the is done for free at discount Tire. If I had jack stands I would do it myself!

Awesome! My rim was dented, and I thought the tire was maybe even ruined. These guys made the dent go away, put the tire back on. I’m ready for my next curb or pothole! And for only $ 20! Had to wait a while, but it was worth it.

Came in for a tire rotation. They pulled my truck into the garage, then a while later pulled it out. They never completed the tire rotation but insisted they did. My wheels were marked and they didn’t change locations.
I hate dishonest auto shops. I will avoid this place in the future. It is a shame because the outrageous selection of crazy excessive wheels makes it an interesting place to wait while getting tires fixed.

I brought a set of 18-​inch wheels (in immaculately new condition) and a set of new tires in to get the old tires removed and replaced. Pep Boys didn’t want to do it because they didn’t have the proper tools to do the job right and without marring the finish on the wheels. I thanked them for being forthcoming and they recommended that I bring them to Arandas on Ashland.
When I dropped them off, the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She gave me a quote of $ 40 (red flag), and they would be done by the time they closed in 2 hours. That was the end of the ‘good’ part of my experience with this shop.
I received a call telling me that they couldn’t get to my wheels/​tires that night, no big deal. They called the next day to say they were done and ready to be picked up. This is where the ‘bad’ begins.
I showed up and paid the friendly lady at the front desk and proceeded to load my wheels/​tires into my car. There was a major problem. Every single one of my wheels on both inner and outer lips had scratches, and gouges like they had laid them down on concrete and caught them in the machine. There was even a huge scratch on the interior of the barrel. How do you even do that?!! The grease monkey at the shop said, «Eh, they are just dirty mang. They should clean up real nice!» I pointed out the scratches and told him that «They won’t clean up because every single wheel was effed!» This is for a show car so they will have to be powdercoated at significant expense ($ 500 minimum) in order to make them presentable again.
I will NEVER go back to these hacks! EVER! If you have nice wheels, save yourself the headache and go to a REAL performance shop where they give a d@mn about your things.

Due to an errant pothole, I needed a simple tire replacement for my Honda Accord. I had very courteous, straightforward service at Arandas. I was in and out within 20 minutes and probably got the best deal in town. I will definitely go here when I need to replace all of my tires.

More problems with pot holes and these guys fixed me up right. Don’t waste your time with anyone else. This place is the BEST in Chicago.

Stopped in to have someone look at a tire that had been going flat. Waited for close to 30 minutes before someone was able to repair the tire. Was told by a gentleman (owner/​manager?) it was on the house for the long wait. I tried to pay, but he insisted on picking up the tab. Next flat tire will bring me back to this fine establishment!

Got great advice and good price for my tire. I’ll be back for more service here! This place was fast and convenient. Call ahead for inventory to get your tire needs ahead of time.

This place is a joke! They charged me over 300.00 to mount and install my rims on my truck. I could of went to Mercedes and still end up paying less for the job… My suggestion is to go to discount tire or firestone!!!

DONT EVER GO HERE! What a bunch of rude people here. I go in to buy new rims and tires, I spent close to $ 4k in this place and got treated like dirt. I was told to come in at 12pm on Friday and I would be finished at 1pm. At 4:30pm I finally left, WITH THE WRONG SIZE TIRES! Keep in mind the owner picked out the tire for me and said this is the one that will work. I couldn’t even pull in my garage without backing up and pulling forward 6 times. They mounted 35″ tires when they should’ve been 33″. I came back Saturday because not only they were the wrong size, two of them were facing the wrong way. I had to go with a smaller tire which needed to be ordered. I was told come back Monday at 3:00pm and they will take care of me. While waiting for the right size tires to be mounted, I asked what’s the difference in price that should be refunded to me? I was told $ 15 a tire is the best They could do. 7:00pm finally got my car done. F this place!
Spent $ 4k, wasted 9 hours, had to come back 3 different days, was told not cop an attitude, was asked why you so mad? I cant believe I paid to feel this way.

I called yesterday for a price on a single tire for my Maserati and was quoted $ 135. I specifically repeated, «$ 135? Does that include the installation and disposal of the old tire?» I was told, yes it does and it would need to be ordered but could be here by 11:00am the next day, so I ordered the tire and came today for the installation. I was greeted brusquely in the parking lot, not directed to the airing area, mumbled at by the technician when he was finished and at the counter was told my total was $ 201… When I questioned the total, the technician mumbled that I must have misunderstood– no one would have told me that it was $ 135.
I’m a surgeon– not one to miss details especially when I clarified prior to placing the order. My receipt showed $ 47 for installation and balancing.
The cost is not the issue– I would have happily come in for a $ 200 installation. The poor communication and service are the issue.
It is the proper tire and correctly installed and inflated. My space saver spare was deflated and placed properly in the trunk.
I wouldn’t go back unless there was no one else to accomplish service. Thankfully in Chicago that will never be the case.

i’ll simplify it, rather than write those long-​winded reviews:
Guy on the phone ensured that tires I wanted were in stock. I get there, and magically ‘we don’t have them’.
After finally ordering another set, I was told to come back in two days for installation. I arrive, ‘tires haven’t arrived yet. Come back tomorrow’.
I come back a THIRD time now, dudes tried to put on a set of tires (downgrade and used) and then try to keep my winters. I state that I actually want to keep my winters AND the tires are wrong. Scam 1. I speak to one of the ‘main guys’ and he tries to convince me that they go by a different name when you order them. Actual owner (who was SUPER NICE btw!) told me to come back and he’d hook me up with actual better ones. Although he promised the next day installation, they actually came a day later. So finally about 7 days later, I’m good to go.
That main younger/​shaved-​head guy saves this place. Otherwise, between the ‘second in command’ and mechanics, it’s like dealing with street guys who think I’m fresh to the game of scams. Advice – *PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ORDER and what they put in as well WHAT YOU’RE PAYING. Google search comparative prices for tires, service, and don’t get taken advantage of. Main dude is real cool though. lol. shame he’s gotta work amongst the scammer types around him.

Yesterday, my car had a birthday… it turned 0.5 years old.

Hold up. There is a nail in my tire. No time for singing when there are F bombs to drop.
While I didn’t detect a leak, I think leaving a nail in a tire is in line with leaving a hockey stick up my arse… just because I’m not getting splinters doesn’t mean it should stay there.
So, I needed to find a tire place close to home, that is open on Sundays, that doesn’t suck… with the Sunday factor being the biggest obstacle. Unilocal to the rescue, yet again. I found a couple options but settled on Arandas Tires & Rims. So I pull in and the dude says, «Nail in your tire?» I couldn’t help but wonder how he knew… but I’m guessing simple deduction — I clearly did not have a flat, and I am a 40-​something chick driving a subcompact Ford. Like I’m REALLY there for rims…
However, if you are into the rim scene, the waiting room/​display area will give you the warm fuzzies. If not a seizure.
Moving on, the Jenmobile was taken away for its tire repair, and was good to go in about 10 minutes. So, back to singing… for Arandas:
I don’t know much… but I know you are open on Sundays… and that may be… all I need to know.

Ive had to curtail going to Arandas for a couple of reasons.
Since I started going there at least 10 years ago, theyve raised their prices to be the same as the big guys, I really cant afford that.
However I cant really knock their service, they do a good job, but I stay on top of anyone servicing my vehicle to make sure what needs to be done is done. For the workers to speak english would be a help, and Jose could have a smile on his face more often.
My biggest reason for not being able to go back to Arandas for more tire related service is cause of the GORGEOUS GIRLS. Theyre really HOT, Ernys a lucky guy to have 3 hot euro babes, but I cant just sit there and let everyone watch me drool over them.

Not able to repair flats on luxury vehicles. Avoid this shop if your car is equipped with air pressure sensors.
After taking our car in to replace a tire, the air pressure sensor read «tire pressure low» on the tire Aramdas repaired. They failed to fix the problem, and when we called about the issue, they told us that «we did our part, we’re not responsible for resetting the pressure sensor.» In other words, they sold us a tire when they were not able to complete the job correctly. When I asked why they didn’t tell us they couldn’t reset the sensor before putting a new tire on the car, the rude worker told us that «they don’t have to disclose that information.»
Try Firestone on North Ave, they know what they are doing.

Chicago pot holes can suck a fat one… just sayin’. They suck and they end up being costly in most cases and you know what sucks more? One pot hole and two flat tires!
We first went to a tire shop that was part of a franchise, but because I don’t have standard tires they were mad expensive just to replace them. The guy only had one tire in stock at any rate. We then remembered that my bf had a flat tire and was able to get a used tire from Arandas aka” that weird tire and rim shop up there on North Avenue with the fake palm trees.” My bf game them a call to check and see if they had any used tires available and lo and behold they did. He asked for a quote and when we were finished our final price was less than the quote price – score!
Definitely recommend them!

I echo the comments from other reviewers not to be intimidated by the exterior of the shop. I always drive by the shop, but thought that it was a place only for suped up cars, not to think a female with a regular honda accord could get service from them. After reading the reviews from Unilocal,I decided to try them out.
I had a nail in my tire and had brought my car to the All Day Tire shop to have it removed. The All Day Tire shop was very honest and told me that they could remove it, but that the tire was damaged and that they would not recommend me driving on it as it can blow out. I didn’t have it done there because they don’t have the tools to balance the tire. They put my tire back on my car. I took it to Arranda’s to get their assessment. They had the same assessment. I didn’t exactly understand why another tire was needed and they patiently explained to me why as well as showing me examples of what my tire could look like if I didn’t have it replace. Got a used tire from them, installed and balance, all for only 50 bucks! Dealt with the owner. Older man, really friendly! They’ve been in business for 20+ years. There is a reason why. I highly recommend this place!
