Animal Farm Tattoo

If you got a tattoo at any shop you’d probably give them 5 stars because you like your new ink. But it’s not only about that for me, the staff here seem like they’re some sort of weird, funny family and they just invited you in for their Thanksgiving pig roast.
Some other parlors the artists are all stand-​offish and try to maintain some level of «cool» that I really don’t care to deal with. Here’s you’re in on whatever is going on, not left to wonder if they’re talking about your stupid haircut behind your back. They also seem to really be collaborative, both with you obviously since you’re the one getting work done, but will pull each other in for advice if the situation occurs where you and your artist can’t decide on a detail.
Give them a shot for your next piece, you won’t be sorry. They have someone for every type of tattoo. They usually have someone on hand that can handle walk-​ins too!
Oh, and this is part of what I’ve been calling the «Walk Western» path — starting down at Challengers Comics (or coming off of the 606), hitting Margie’s/Quesadilla/The Art of Chicken/​Paladar for food, getting some work done at Animal Farm, grabbing something sweet at GBD, hunting to get a piece of your childhood back at Toy de Jour, looking for oddities at Sideshow Gallery, and ending up at Logan Arcade. Great date day all in one stretch of Western that most people miss while doing the same old Milwaukee Ave stuff. All this while getting some exercise walking Western!

I have gone to several different shops in the Chicagoland area for my tattoos and have not found one that I had any desire to stick with, except Animal Farm Tattoo. The shop is clean and attractive and the people are welcoming. My boyfriend and I went to get tattoos for our anniversary and couldn’t be happier. His work was done by Adrian, who was awesome, and mine was done by Caitlin. I’m not usually a big talker but she made me feel so comfortable that I just chatted with her and the other artists the entire time. It was, hands down, the best experience I’ve ever had at a shop. Now, let’s talk about the work. I love it! The tattoo came out perfect. She spent a decent amount of time drawing it up for me and getting it just right and words cannot describe how much I appreciate that. The tattoo came out better than drawing I provided for a reference. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve found my favorite shop and artist and I can guarantee I won’t be going anywhere else. Check them out. You won’t regret it.

First things first– everything you need in a tattoo studio– very clean, bright, and beyond friendly staff. We walked in to satiate a whim and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Max was professional, talented, and super personable. Just come here. Do it.

I had heard great things. They were spot on. It’s a great, open shop with friendly people who clearly love what they do. I’ll be back soon for more work done by Caitlin. She does stellar work. So glad this shop moved close to me. I’ll be a regular.

My friends and I walked in on a Saturday night just as they were closing and Catelynn and Vince were unbelievably awesome and stuck around for the next few hours while the 3 of us got our tattoos. They were so great and worked with us all on our designs and didn’t hate us for making them stay late on a Saturday! We had a great time and I would absolutely go back for my next tattoo. Thank you!

Adrian has been one of my go to artists for several years. It has been a pleasure being able to watch his art progress.

AF is very clean and professional. I’ve been to 5 other shops/​artists and I’ve never felt so welcomed… all the artists that I met are super nice and helpful! Marianne is working on a thigh piece for me and it’s better than I pictured it… she is super talented! I never thought I’d get 1) a leg tattoo, or 2) a color tattoo, yet here I am working on a brightly colored thigh tattoo, and I couldn’t think of a better place to get it done!

The best place to get a tattoo. I tell absolutely everyone I talk to about tattoos to go there. I’ve gotten 3 done here. They were small and the second time Vince was so awesome he only charged me the shop minimum as the total for my two since it was just a word on my wrist and symbols on my finger. He was so funny too made it comfortable. They really work with you on the design totally open creative process. They are so reasonable about price. I’ll definitely only go here for tattoos. Walk ins are so easy. I tried going to tat cave on Harlem and Addison and they told me to schedule an appointment for a few days later and wanted a deposit. No. Animal Farm is SOOO much better. Clean. Awesome. Nice. Reasonable pricing. Great artists. All you could want from a tattoo place definitely go here!

I decided to randomly come get a tattoo, because man was I having a horrible day.
I walked into the shop 30 min before it closed and I spoke to Vince who was super nice he gave me a quote. I walked in with an idea already in mind and Adrian tattooed me. He was super nice and helpful.
The prices were very affordable for what I wanted. The shop is clean. Everything came out of a new packaging so I know I was I good hands. Adrian kept the conversation going which is just what I needed to keep my mind off the tattoo.
I’m super satisfied with the tattoo, his lines were super clean and it was just what I wanted. I’m definitely coming back.
I’m new to the area but I do have 27 tattoos and have worked at a shop before so I know good work when I see it.

I have been getting tattooed by Adrian for many years now. He is always easy to get a hold of, listens to your ideas, and gives great feed back. I’ve never been disappointed with his work. He’s super friendly and the shop is easy going and comfortable. I’ve recommended him to many other people who’ve all had great experiences with him.

Got tattooed on my ribs as a walk in by Adrian. Place is clean and is very professional. I plan on getting tattooed there again.

I have a ton of fantastic stuff from Max from over the years and just got my first piece from Vince today. Both of them are top-​notch artists that are receptive to your ideas and feedback while also bringing their own unique styles and directions to each piece. Whether you’re a hardcore tattoo aficionado or a newbie, you can go into Animal Farm without getting some of the pretentious attitudes you get at some shops.

I came to VINCE a couple of months ago after an artist from another shop failed to deliver. I had a vague idea of what I wanted and Vince was able to put my poorly articulated ideas onto paper. Four tattoos later, and we are getting close to finishing my traditional sleeve!
What I love about working with Vince is that our appointments are a true collaboration! I trust his expertise, and he respects my aesthetic! And it works every time! My sleeve is turning out pretty rad!
It doesn’t hurt that the atmosphere of the shop is very clean, relaxed, and friendly! They play cool music too!

Always a great experience. Clean facility. Never a dull moment. These guys are friendly and professional. Always willing to work with you to ensure you’ll get your ideal tattoo.

Vince is a great artist. I have had a lot of work done by him, these guys know how to tattoo. He will design the perfect tattoo that you want. The line work is amazing. I would highly recommend this place if you want a great tattoo is a professional environment.

I’ve known Adrian and Vince for years now, and over 80% of my work has been done by them. Super cool guys, extremely talented artists. 100% recommended for any tattoo you want, be it color, realistic, old school, black and grey, lettering… I could go on and on. Go. Just go there. The best decision you can ever make.

I went to Vince a few years ago at a different tattoo shop and was able to track him down via Facebook to find him working at Animal Farm. So glad I did! Everything was great about my experience with Animal Farm! Location is perfect, the shop is clean, Vince and the team are awesome to work with. Vince will take the time to listen to your ideas on what you want to get done and offer suggestions when needed. Whether it’s your first tattoo or 50^th, they’ll make you feel at ease and you’ll all around enjoy the experience.

Having been tattooed twice before at another shop in the Chicago-​land area, where the service wasn’t all that great and the vibes just felt really off — my friend and I went off in search for a shop that could provide better costumer service, since we feel that getting tattooed should be a good experience from the consultation with the artist to getting it done. In our searching we found Animal Farm Tattoo, a small shop just on Pulaski — upon looking at Unilocal we saw how incredibly good the reviews were, so we decided to give it a try and cross our fingers it would go decently.
Honestly, it went 110x better than what we expected! Walking into a quiet, not so crowded shop already took a load of worry off our shoulders — because we weren’t quite sure how long we’d have to wait. Within perhaps half an hour after walking in and talking to Adrian and Vince, my friend and I were preparing to be inked up!
It was a FANTASTIC experience; both guys are incredibly charming in the fact that they’re real buddy-​buddy, laid back, and actually having fun with what they’re doing! I have to say, I never thought laughing while getting tattooed really made a difference — but being able to just sit back and make jokes the entire time made getting my tattoo just 100% worth the trip. They are both amazing artists, and great guys in general to just hang out with!
Also something that should be mentioned is their being able to rank prices a little lower if need be; being college students with low-​budgets, but the NEED to be inked up every so often, my friend and I were glad that we could lower the prices a tad-​bit — def makes all the difference, too!
Great shop, great location, great service. Honestly Animal Farm Tattoo needs a lot more fame than what it’s getting — they’re just AWESOME. Can’t wait to return over the years!
