2555 North Clark

My fiancé and I decided to move in to the building after going back and forth between this location and several West Loop properties. We couldn’t get over the awesome Lincoln Park neighborhood, fantastic views, proximity to the lake and park, and upgraded apartment features (stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring, new carpet) that came standard. Our 16^th floor east-​facing apartment provides views of Lake Michigan and downtown — not too shabby to wake up to! Our balcony is also relatively large given the location. So far we have been impressed in our first month in the building.
The fitness center will undergo an expansion and upgrade starting next week — which we are also looking forward too. We are very grateful that the building also provided residents with complimentary fitness passes to a nice nearby gym in the meantime.
We are very excited for the warmer months when we can enjoy the updated roof and Weber grills. Only complaint so far is apartment floor hallway outside of the units, but we have been told the update should be completed soon. The updated hallways on other floors look great, so we are excited to see the changes come! In-​unit laundry would also have been preferred, but the new laundry room is very nice.

The door and maintenance staff are very nice and helpful people!
EXTREMELY thin walls. If you ever work from home you won’t be able to get anything done because of the thin walls and CONSTANT construction.

I have lived here 7 years and consider this community home. The building has been recently gone through renovations was taken over by new management. The team has had some changes in staff within the leasing office over the last few months but seem to be getting into a better groove now. The apartments are large, modern and offer outstanding views. While I have not needed the maintenance staff much over the years, they are second to none!

The first and probably last Unilocal review I will ever write, but avoid this building at all costs unless you like living on a construction site. Wildly overpriced relative to nearby options, and working from home is essentially impossible with all the noise. Its nice that they are trying to improve the place but it should have been disclosed before signing the lease that construction will be done everyday at decibel levels that make it impossible to do things like make phone calls and makes working from home borderline impossible.

Oh please! All these cheerful updates from real or imaginary residents, as fair and balanced as Faux News.
Just checked out their site (been back to Chicago recently, so I guess my living experience over there was on my mind) and they still fancy themselves as «luxury»… sorry, each unit should have its own washer and dryer before you can charge those prices. And did I mention that the bike room is cramped and it was always a struggle to get your bike in and out? But it is true that the staff (other than management, of course) was and probably still is sweet.

My fiancé and I moved in about 6 months ago and we could not be more pleased. We moved in when they were renovating a lot of apartments so lots of construction, but the improvements have been great! The new rooftop is amazing, with two grill stations and amazing views of the city. Our apartment has brand new counters, floors, appliances, and paint. We could not be more pleased with the layout and the cleanliness when we moved in. Lots of closets and storage. The maintenance staff has been super helpful and comes the same day the call is made, even on weekends! Free coffee in the lobby, and the building puts on numerous events. The gym does need to be updated, but the other facilities greatly outweigh the outdated facility. We will be renewing our lease at the end of the year!

Building was recently bought and current residents are paying the price. The old PM Lindsey was a terrible person and while she’s not there anymore, I can’t tell you if we actually have a PM right now or not.
Elevators took 4 months to «upgrade» (2 mos. each) and while they are both supposed to be fully operable now at least one of them is constantly breaking down. Parking garage was shut down for 6 months — again not sure what was actually improved. Workout room is a joke — I think they are stacking as many useless 1970’s machines in there as possible so that there’s no room for activities! Oh and how can I forget the fact that they’re doing construction in random vacant units throughout the building to upgrade them. They sometimes start drilling at 8am on Saturdays and it makes a mess in all the common areas.
With that said, I love the maintenance team — they are always cheery, a joy to see in the hallway, and always answer any issues as quickly as possible.

This is the first apartment my fiancé and I rented in Chicago. The staff is amazing! Always so helpful and friendly. Previous reviews discuss the poor management, rent and outdated building.
1. The management has since changed and is now much better (Lindsey is gone). Every time we have concerns, they are addressed.
2. The rent is very fair considering the location. Yes, we definitely wish the elevators worked all the time and the laundry was cheaper, but you really can’t beat the location.
3. When we originally moved in, we were disappointed in the building. HOWEVER, it is currently being renovated. The new apartments are beautiful: hardwood floors, new cabinets, new carpet, appliances, etc. The laundry room has new machines that actually work! The parking lot has been updated and the elevators are currently being replaced. It is taking a little longer than we would like, but they’re coming along!
I do wish we were able to park in the parking garage and that they made recycling a priority.
If you’re looking for a good starter apartment in a good area in Lincoln Park, this is the place to go.

This was the first apartment we rented in Chicago without knowing the area well. The location is amazing but it is way too overpriced and they are actually upping the rent this year. It is not worth paying almost 2200 a month for a 1 bedroom with super old appliances, on a low floor and with a parking spot a block away from the building. The management is terrible and Lindsay is extremely rude. Charged us once for something random that she had no clue about and was incorrect on.
Also, the garage has been in renovation for the past couple months. There is only 1 working elevator while they are doing the «upgrade» and people sit and wait for an elevator for up to 10 minutes or more at a time, extremely frustrated.
Door staff and maintenance are AMAZING and we are going to miss them so very much! There are so many other nice places in Lincoln Park and the surrounding area that are better quality for a better price! The units are fairly large with big bedrooms and tons of closet space but not worth the limited amenities and cons that come with leasing here.

I like the building and location, but with one big exception — noisy elevators! Do not get a unit that borders the elevators. Once they start going at 6 am in the morning you will not be able to sleep.

After leaving repeated messages and an email with no answers I finally called and reached a person. She was short with me and not at all helpful. I am looking for a lease for a few years and she acted as though she was doing me a favor answering questions. Definitely moving on in the search process.
