Irislee

Roberta Loberfeld the owner contacted me to ship products to NY, RI, and MA last year. She has yet to pay her bill which is now 8 months overdue. We are not the first or last company she has screwed out of money. When I contact her she gives a new excuse each time. I get told the check is in the mail each time. I have offered payment plans etc but she just refuses to pay. This is a warning to other companies that want to deal with her business practices.

I love cupcakes and have tried quite a few different bakeries in the Boston area, but I must say, Irislee’s cupcakes rocked! They were so moist; you have that melt-​in-​your-​mouth feeling. So delicious. I would go back. One drawback is there is no street parking, so thankfully since I was just picking up it wasn’t a huge issue, just beware.

i didn’t have to order or pick up these cupcakes, so i can’t comment on any of that negative stuff. but these are definitely the best cupcakes i have ever had. The frosting was thick and tasty, and the actual cupcake was moist and amazing. sooo good!

Pros — The cupcakes were pretty to look at and are decent tasting. When I picked up the cupcakes, the lady who was there was very nice.
Cons — Like the other reviewers, I had the same customer service experience when I called to place my order. Whoever was on the phone claimed they called me back (aka «mystery phone call»). She also became extremely belligerent when I said I had a coupon.
She gave me a hard time about waiting until the last minute to order. I reminded her that I did try contacting them a week ago and I had about another week to use the coupon.
When I picked up the cupcakes, I felt bad for the lady there, who had no clue which order was mine. Seems like the person who took my order did not leave any instructions. I felt bad for her since she was really gracious and apologetic.
Overall — The cupcakes tasted decent, but I can find the same or better quality somewhere else. I would not return to this place due to the subpar customer service on the phone. So the one star I’m giving them is for the pretty look of the cupcakes and the nice lady at the pickup.

Irislee is absolutely fabulous! Customer service is top notch! This isn’t just cupcakes… this is made to order and decorated perfectly for your special occasion. If you want «just» cupcakes… go to BJ’s and get a dozen. I can’t wait to purchase our next special occasion treats from Irislee!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL customer service! I never got to try out their desserts because after speaking with Leah on the phone, trying to order a few cupcakes and her telling me its not possible (in a weeks time frame!!!) Stay away… if their customer service is this bad I can’t imagine what their sweets taste like!

HORRIBLE customer service! They do not return calls and are way overpriced. Cake was pretty but very dry. We also got cupcakes and some were smooshed and broken (boxes were taped, so we did not know). I especially would not recommend buying any vouchers (groupon, buywithme, etc.) because you get even worse service, if that is even possible!

This place is horrible DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Not only is the owner Roberta a complete flake but the cakes are also overpriced and just not good. We purchased my daughter’s birthday cake from them with buywithme coupons. As the other reviewer experienced, it was a 10″ cake with no design whatsoever — straight frosting in pink with some strawberries and yes, $ 150. The cake was over iced and began falling apart at the party so by the time it was served/​cut, it was a mess. The icing was disgusting and died a hideous dark pink. It was an enormous production as well to just deal with them and get any answers as to whether they could do the cake in time. Lots of my calling them and their saying they called me and left messages that I miraculously never received. In all honesty, call Party Favors — amazing, easy to deal with and just delicious.

We got a dozen regular cupcakes from Irislee. They were not only beautiful but delicious. The cake was moist, springy and not too sweet with a distinctive vanilla taste. The buttercream frosting was sweet, creamy and had the right texture, neither too buttery nor too sugary. A first-​class cupcake fairly priced.

We’re talking cupcakes here folks. Honestly. Celebrating special occasions at premium prices, one should expect more than just a pretty face.
I would have given this 1 ½ stars because the icing was beautiful; and if you only had to look at them it would have been worth maybe three stars, but that is not an option.
When I went to pick up my order, I did not get a chance to look at the cupcakes since they were in taped up boxes. I think this is something they could easily fix with either windows on the boxes or tape them up after the customer can inspect their order, because once I got home and opened up the first of two boxes, the first detail I noticed that the first two cupcakes had broken snowflake decorations.
The next thing I noticed was the packaging design was designed to hold the cupcakes in place, but since the cupcakes are short, getting the cupcakes out of the packaging requires you to stick your fingers into the frosting to get to the small cake underneath to lift it out of the packaging. That was disappointing since the main thing that you notice about these cakes is the beautiful frosting decorating job. The problem here is the small cupcake and the packaging. Did I mention the small cake itself yet? Well this is not such a problem when it comes to the second detail.
I ordered a dozen of their gourmet cupcakes for a special occasion. Apart from the couple of broken decorations, the frosting job was very nice. Unfortunately the frosting was not very flavorful, even to the point where the kids did not even want eat the frosting. I ate one of the cakes and got plenty of comments from other guests at the party that the cupcakes were bland and very dry, and the frosting was lacking; not quite what you expect when you pay $ 50 for a dozen cupcakes. To that end; it was not, as they say, the frosting on the cake.
If you advertise gourmet cupcakes, I should be able to expect gourmet cupcakes. These cakes are not even Duncan Hines home baked worthy close to gourmet, and though the frosting decoration was beautiful, it was just another pretty face in a very packed field of custom cupcakes companies. Like any beauty pageant, you try and find more than just a pretty face, you should expect a complete package of beauty and something else, and in cupcake pageants; frosting and a moisty tasty cake…
At the end of the day, I blame myself for paying this much money for CUPCAKES. But come on, for this kind of money, at least give me a tasty cake that is better than what I can bake at home out of a pre-​mix box.
