My husband and I were traveling to visit family and needed a local YMCA to work out at. We initial called before our trip and we were told that they would not honor our Indiana membership. We decided to roll the dice and just go. I’m so glad we did! Bill and William at the front desk were very helpful. They struck up a conversation about Indianapolis and made us feel very welcome. They made the process of using a new Y very easy. The YMCA had all of them amenities that we liked and everyone made us feel welcome. The only downfall was that the woman on the home did not have the correct information about reciprocal uses.

Denise Glass and Yvonne Twillman and Lisa Kramer are three of the most rude and unprofessional people I have ever spoken to in my life. They need to be replaced because of their aggressiveness, negligence and incapabilities to do their jobs and treat others in a civil manner. Now that’s just how they treat adults; the real and bigger issue is the manners in which they are treating your children in the daycare center. If your children are currently enrolled at this daycare location, I would highly recommend taking the children elsewhere. I personally know a few workers at this specific daycare location, and from what I have heard, I would never ever enroll my children there. The way they treat the children borderlines child abuse. The workers I know have told me of instances where the children are either yelled at or physically pushed down on their bellies to take naps. There are other issues like threatening the children to eat their snacks, and if they do not eat them within the second that they are told to eat, the teachers THROWAWAY the food instead. Hence, your children aren’t being fed properly. Children request more food and are always denied any extra(from what is a very stingy serving already). Next, there was a recent situation involving one of the teachers negligence to leave an opened bottle of milk in the fridge for two days + and yet she still fed it to one of your poor children. After one of my friends that works at this location alerted the teacher it has been open for days, the teacher still decided to feed this poor child. This child immediately fell with a FEVER(from the spoiled milk), leading her parent to come pick her up from the daycare, and took her to the doctor. The few workers I know personally have actually been told to NOT be affectionate with any of the children ever. This is not an institution you want to take your children to. I strongly advise anyone that currently has their children enrolled to reconsider their options and take into account their children’s health; both physically, mentally and emotionally. These children are much too young to understand what is happening around them, however this type of treatment will stay with them as they grow into young adults. You do not need people treating your kids this way, No children deserve this kind of treatment.

I am visiting from out of town and they made it very easy to workout. No waiting for them to call and verify my home membership. Very friendly staff. The equipment for weight lifting is older. The cardio is recent. They have a HUGE summer camp group which parade through the building. My only complaint was the completely naked woman who was walking around in the locker room trying to help me with directions while several groups of young children were showering off to enter the pool. They should separate the children pool showering from the adult locker room. The children were staring.

Chesterfield YMCA childcare center is HORRIBLE!!! The last and final incident that just floored me was when they sent another child bottle home in my son bag. I don’t know if they fed him the bottle or not. I took pictures of the bottles and emailed the Early Childhood Education Director, Yvonne Twillman and the Executive Director, Denise Glass. They did not have an explanation but their answer was to terminate my 7 month old son without a notice. They are VERYUNPROFESSIONAL!!! They also have a HIGHTURNOVERWITHTEACHERS.

I had to go to a training at this YMCA. They did have the training in the theatre area. They tried to serve us a sandwich and chips but we were not allowed to take them into the theatre. All of the tables and chairs were occupied with swim team parents. Not the best set up for a training.

This may be my favorite of the 5 or so YMCA locations I have been to in the STL area thus far. My scope is a bit narrow so there may well be dissenting opinions and YMMV. Specifically, I go to the Y to swim laps. I appreciate the cleanliness of their locker rooms, the fact that their pool is generally very clear and the overall condition of the place. As an added bonus, they generally have a lane available for me to have to myself. That said, their parking situation kinda sucks with the majority of people avoiding the lot in favor of parking on the street.

I absolutely love this gym. I have been a member for the last 10 years and I enjoy going to all of the classes and working out in the fitness room as well. The showers and the locker rooms are always clean! All of the workers at this YMCA in West County are always in a great mood and sweet!
