Hyatt Place St Louis/ Chesterfield

This was honestly a very nice Hyatt Place. Great location, modern, clean, nice rooms, great breakfast, and more! But, they really messed us up. I reserved a 2 queen room using my points. We had been in town visiting for my nephews graduation. We didn’t arrive at hotel until late that evening. Our 3 kids were exhausted so I took them straight up to room while my hubby parked the car. I walked in and noticed only 1 bed! 1 King bed. I was frustrated because it’s so late and now I’m going to have to try and get us moved to another room. So my husband went downstairs and told them they messed up our reservation and we need two queen beds. How is a family of five supposed to sleep in a 1 king bed room? They asked if we had proof of our reservation and I told my husband yes I do I have it on my phone. But then he proceeded to state that they were sold out of their two queen rooms and there’s nothing they could do for us, they were totally booked. Not cool! It was literally after 11 PM at this point. We were stuck and I was so disappointed especially since we were using our points. He didn’t seem to care either. We ended up having to drive one of our kids a few miles away, wake up my parents, and ask them to squeeze my kid into their hotel room. What would we have done if they weren’t in town just a few miles away? Our two little ones had to share the couch in our room. I contacted the hotel again after we left the next day but never got offered a refund on points or anything. Very disappointed.

As a former resident of St. Louis I am in town quite often. This is the only place I will stay when in town to see friends or to catch a concert or Cards game. The staff it top notch and my room has always been super clean. I have yet to have a disappointing stay. The staff remembers me the moment I walk in the door. Kudos!!!

We had a great experience. The parking garage was full so we did pay the $ 32 for valet but to be honest it was well worth it. We enjoyed a wonderful dessert and two coffees at around 11:00pm in the bar and the bar tender was extremely helpful and took his time to explain the dessert and make sure we had everything we needed even though he had a bar full of people. The room was very nice and the view of the Arch from our room was beautiful. There was a dance competition but the room remained extremely quiet. The main reason for the five star rating is for the staff. They were so nice and helpful. Not one person had a frown on their face. The hotel is very nice but the service will be why we return.

I’m tickled pink. There are no words to express my happiness and gratitude toward Hyatt. In the last two weeks I have stayed 6 nights in hotel rooms, prices ranging from 150 – 300 (Gaylord) per night. Every single one has been a disgusting, tattered, germ infested dump.
Then we drove by the Hyatt Place last night and thought let’s stay there. I stayed in one a few years back and it was nice.
When I walked into the room I didn’t feel the need to cry! The hotel is so clean. The staff is friendly. Did I mention my room was CLEAN!!!
AND…our total bill at checkout was 125!

As a Gold Passport member doing a cross country road trip this spot was an excellent use of points! It’s tucked away in a very safe area, however it’s super close to many venues and a mall (we grabbed Charlotte’s Ribs BBQ just 10 mins away for din). The staff was nice, corner room with king bed was wonderfully spacious and the hotel is definitely well managed because the rooms and common areas were spotless.

We were impressed with this hotel.
It’s right next to the mall also, so we went over there to grab some dinner at the Cheesecake factory. Our travel agent found this place for us.
It was clean and seemed pretty new.

The pictures don’t really do it justice… It seemed nicer than the pictures on Unilocal reflect, but we enjoyed this hotel for a roadside road trip stay.
The room was clean and spacious, and very comfortable, well-​designed.
Pretty easy location, close to shopping and food.
Only complaint is we missed breakfast because we got up too late. That is more our fault, but it might be nice to extend those breakfast hours.

First time staying at Hyatt Place and all I can say is wow! Clean, cool, comfortable, spacious etc. An extensive breakfast offering that is included in your rate and no tipping at the bar.
The people working here are polite, professional etc. There is one exceptional employee I witnessed in action. Her name is Andi? Spelling? I watched her for a couple hours as she worked the bar area pulling people in and making them comfortable despite a group of young professionals who had consumed the bar area and were unaware of other people desiring a night cocktail before they turned in. She’s a natural.
I will stay here again.

The good: Friendly service. Fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet. Central to a lot of attractions and stores including next door to the mall.
The bad: No microwave, really is this 1974? A glass bathroom door that offers a lack of privacy. Pool is dirty and closes early. Found pubic hair in the bathroom so the room wasn’t cleaned good at all, overlooks a building so there are no aesthetics.
The bottom line is for the money I wouldn’t go back to this hotel. A 2 star hotel could have provided the same level of clean, a pool, and service. I never did get my 8am wake up call either.

Because I can’t justify $ 200+ per night on a room unless it includes Ricky Gervais, Jon Stewart, someone from Magic Mike and perhaps a panini press, I look for cheaper options when visiting my family in St. Louis.
My experience here has been great. Everything is clean and new. The rooms have an ultra-​cool mid century modern/​Mad Men vibe. I love the extra sitting area and the beds are very comfy. Outlets are easily accessible — no moving furniture or unplugging lamps or clocks.
There’s a fridge for leftovers and no annoying mini-​bar to avoid. There’s also a lovely wardrobe, full length mirror and desk.
The window treatments are brilliant — two shades so it definitely makes the room very dark. The included breakfast is pretty extensive and is a couple notches above continental.
The ice bucket in the room is so freakin’ cute that I kind of want to steal it. :)
All staff I’ve encountered have been helpful and friendly. Housekeeping is consistent and the lady who cleans my room does an awesome job of straightening up without moving all my stuff (I put it where it is for a reason — thank you!).
Two minor suggestions:
The cheap looking chains on the window shades are awkward and detract from the room. And no lotion in the bathroom?
All in all, a great option in Chesterfield. If you’re car-​less, it’s within spitting distance of the mall and restaurants surrounding the mall. I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean hotel, looks brand new. The room has modern furniture, I love it all. The mattress is comfortable and so are the pillows. No complaints at all. Front desk was very friendly as well.
The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good. It has all the normal cereals, juices and assorted breads. The shining star was their breakfast sandwiches. The croissant was nice and flaky and the egg, ham, and cheese were of pretty good quality. I saw them sitting in a skillet and my inner fatness jumped for joy!

Psssst I’m writing this from my pen. Here at Hyatt Place they call it a king with desperate sofa bed «cozy corner». They let me make the reservation for 2 adults and 3 kids but we are on top of each other here. The king bed is comfy but perhaps 4″ bigger than a queen. When the sofa bed is expanded I can nearly reach it from the «king» so callIng it a separate area is also inaccurate. The hotel is new and clean and the people are kind but I would not stay again with family.

Feel like you’re staying at Gitmo Prison in St. Louis — except without the warm weather. Enjoy views of a concrete wall outside your bedroom window — with maid service to match!

On a business trip to St Louis, I stayed here and really was impressed. I normally prefer Hilton or Wyndham hotels, but this Hyatt was very different from what I remember from having stayed in other Hyatt hotels.
First, the WIFI is fast. You can actually use the internet and it’s free.
Second, the food options and layout of the eating area in the lobby was neat. You can have the meal downstairs surrounded by TVs and a pleasant bar and coffee shop blended into the décor.
Third, pillows and amenities were really nice. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive than a motel, but I really enjoyed my stay and will be adding Hyatt to the list of my preferred hotels because of this experience.

I came to St. Louis for work and this hotel definitely made it feel like vacation. The rooms were very spacious and clean and the bed was o so comfortable. I will definitely stay again.

Best value ever in a hotel.
The staff is what makes this hotel. Every single staff member was helpful and courteous and had a great attitude.
The facility is nothing fancy, but still very nice.
Breakfast was great!

This is the second time I have stayed here and I love it. Staff is super nice, nice spacious rooms and close to everything we want to do… Skyzone & outlet malls. The Chesterfield mall is right behind the hotel with several restaurants within a mile. Great place to stay!!!

Very nice and clean with a great breakfast bar. Easy to get to from I-​64. I will stay here again when I am in the area.

This location has a staff that is sincerely kind, courteous and friendly. So lovely.
Rooms are outfitted like a standard upscale Hyatt. Pillows were new, fluffy and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and they kept it open later than the standard hours.
