Powerstation Events

Since we got married at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills, we were actually required to use Powerstation Events if we wanted a DJ for the wedding since they have an exclusive relationship with the venue. While we might have otherwise been put off by that requirement, Powerstation proved themselves to be so fantastic from Day One that we didn’t mind one bit. Their prices were fairly reasonable for the quality and extent of the services they provided, and considering how critical a DJ is to the success of the wedding, it was well worth the investment.
We were fortunate enough to have Jon March as the DJ for our June wedding, and we could not be happier with the job that he did. Leading up to the event, we asked for so many specific and particular requests, and he didn’t bat an eye with any of them. Basically everything we asked him to do was executed flawlessly. He had wonderful energy for our crowd and was not afraid to have fun! We loved getting to plan with him and have him with us for the entirety of our wedding day.
Jon’s positivity, passion, and friendly demeanor were evident from start to finish of the wedding planning process and even well after the big day was over. From our secret surprise choreographed dance piece from «The Artist» to gracefully clearing out the entire reception room for our own private final dance to making our ceremony music go off without a hitch, every single element of our wedding went smoothly thanks to him. We cannot thank Powerstation enough for doing so much to make our day perfect!

We used Powerstation Events in 2012 for our wedding and we were so grateful that we did! We booked Charlie as our DJ, Pam as our photographer and we got free uplighting, which really made the room. I can’t say enough good things about this company. We told Charlie what kind of atmosphere we were looking for and he really tailored the party to us! A family friendly playlist which still got the party going! ALL of our guests were on the dance floor. Charlie was classy and professional. Pam got some awesome shots of us on our special day and was easy to work with. I highly recommend Powerstation!

To me, the most important part of a wedding is the music.
Forget about the food, the décor, all that is great, BUT, what really makes a party amazing is a non-​stop dance party. We were so lucky to have chosen David Rossi at Powerstation Events to be our «music maestro» for the day because he not only delivered — he hit it out of the park.
In our first meeting, my husband and I went over all of our favorite music picks for the ceremony, dinner hour and the reception. We bounced ideas off of each other and David was not only respectful and professional he has a great sense of humor and quick wit we thought would be perfect for a Sunday wedding. He had our guests on their toes and singing his praises.
He is open to fun, new ideas. We had an idea of doing a «Carleton Dance-​Off» (which our guests are still raving about it.) He takes chances and trusts his clients. He is super fast on email and always readily available to answer questions– which for a nervous and stressed out bride– is a god send.
We couldn’t recommend David Rossi more. He is absolutely fantastic! He knows how to read an audience and what music works. An amazing DJ!

I didn’t even book the DJ, but he was so good I had to write a review. I am not familiar with the cost or ease of dealing with Powerstation, nor where they operate. This review is solely of DJ David Rossi.
David worked a wedding on 9/​26, and was absolutely the best DJ I have ever seen. Many of the wedding guests were fond of Latin music, and dancing to it, and the DJ kept them on the floor most of the night. He mixed in the kind of music you want to hear and expect to hear at a wedding, of course. Mixing was very good, and he was himself highly amusing. He danced and lip synced along with basically everything.
He was charming but did not insert himself too much into the normal reception activities, including toasts and father/​daughter and mother/​son dances. There were no props, and no embarrassing competitions, or anything like that. I would hire this man in a second for any event.

My husband and I used Powerstation Events for our October wedding and we could not be happier! Chris and Hannah were so professional and easy going! They both got to know my husband and I as individuals and not just another job. They took the time to find out what we wanted and were looking for. They helped us make decisions and kept us on task all day! Chris kept the dance floor full and played perfect songs for the guests. He went out of his way to accommodate us and made sure we were happy every step of the way! My brother wanted to play his guitar for me wlking down the aisle, Chris actually talked to my brother and made sure everything was ready for him to play. that meant so much to us! Hannah is so talented and such a sweetheart! With Pinterest being such a huge part of the brides life these days, she actually started following me on Pinterest to see what photography interested me and what feel I was going for! She kept all of my wedding party and family members in line and moved quickly so no one had the time to stray away! We were so fortunate to have the pleasure of them capturing our wedding!

We used Powerstation for a several aspects of our wedding: the photo booth, the live music, and, of course, the DJ.
First, the photo booth was a huge hit! The guests were in there all night and had a blast. Brittany was the attendant and was extremely sweet and had a great energy. The photo booth was huge and came with so many props. We received a scrapbook AND a flash drive with all the photos — and we can’t stop looking at them! The only thing I would have changed was that the photo booth also recorded videos, and no one really knew (including myself). We got about 6 videos, but if I’d known (or maybe remembered?) that it did videos I would have put up a sign to remind people. This is REALLY not a issue, but just one tiny thing.
Second, we had Lorena Garay do guitar for our ceremony and the Harold Zinno Agency jazz trio during the cocktail hour. Not only were all the musicians extremely talented and professional, but they were so very nice. They played our selections beautifully and we got so many compliments.
Finally, Todd Armstrong was our DJ. We chose him because he met with us as the Powerstation representative at our first meeting and he was just too fun not to have at the wedding. From the get-​go he was professional, honest, organized, and super responsive. At first I thought I had all these opinions about what I absolutely wanted to have play and what I absolutely didn’t want to have played, but at our final meeting I just told him to go with his gut. And the music was phenomenal! Several times throughout the night he was quick on his feet and inserted a song (Star Wars theme after the best man’s toast) or played a last minute song request. His intro mixes for the bridal party and for us were flawless. There were a million details that we noticed throughout the night and were just blown away by the music. And, most importantly, he had a great energy, got people dancing, kept the night moving smoothly, and threw in a few jokes. We can’t say enough about Todd!
