This place is quite small and on a cold night you’re more than likely to be sitting near the door. Overall this is a nice spot. The staff is friendly and back each other nicely. The food is fantastic. Personally I had the Hickory Roll and found it to be delicious. I tried my wife’s California Roll which was ok but I did prefer my selection. The portions are big. I highly recommend this place and will return in the near future.

They have the best sushi that I’ve had on the East Coast. Their other food is good too. I don’t recommend this as a kid friendly place. The ambience is nice as well. Highly recommend.

I am absolutely addicted to this place!!! Within the last month I have eaten here once a week. I always get the California Roll and the Shrimp Tempura Roll(which is always fresh) along with the hibachi steak!!! Can’t go wrong with this place! It’s a hidden secret!

It’s ok not to go to place is not that clean, for a price like that and it’s not even legit sushi.

I have been going here since 2008. The food is really good, huge portions and the prices are very reasonable. All the sushi that I have had taste very fresh but my favorite dish here is the hibachi shrimp and steak. Go early like other reviewers have said because they do get very busy. On my second visit in 2008 I had a problem with the steak and shrimp being overcooked, I told the owner and he happily and immediately fixed the problem. I don’t think that you can review a restaurant properly based on one visit, we all have bad days as do businesses.

Tried this place out because of the amazing Unilocal reviews — and wow, Unilocal reviewers you have truly failed me. Hibachi steak was overcooked, shrimp was overcooked, and everything — everything — lacked flavor. Scallops and rice were actually undercooked. There was no saving grace about this meal and it’s extremely disappointing because while yes, the food is cheaper here than other hibachi places, it’s still expensive for absolutely terrible food. Will absolutely never go back here.

Great sushi… very fresh. Also, great hibachi… steak is tender, shrimp isn’t over-cooked…very nice quaint restaurant. Good service and friendly. Very reasonable prices. We love this place!

Hands down, the BEST sushi in the area. Fresh. Made to order. Great servers. I love this place. It’s a little small on the inside but who cares?! Just make sure to get there early or order to go. I hope they never change.

Excellent family-ran sushi and hibachi restaurant. Prompt service, excellent food and decent price point make this one of Chesapeake’s best kept secrets. As a fan of local businesses vice chain restraints we constantly search for the best local places and this is one of the top ones!

Great food and very quick service. Ordered the vegetable hibachi and steak bento box. Hibachi was fantastic and the fried rice served with the dish was very good. Bento box steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. Goyza appetizer was very good. Nice crisp on the outside. Tried tuna and salmon sushi. It was okay but the fish was a bit warmer than I like. Only complaint is since the place is so small it can be difficult to get a seat and when the door opens you get a serious draft if you are in the front booths. Perhaps that is why they have hot sake… for the cold footy! Great value overall. I have eaten there 10 times or so and the food is always very good.

Very casual. If you’re an experienced sushi grubber then don’t come here. Fish isn’t great but hibachi is good. Fast and friendly service

My fav!!! Family owned(super nice family)— a little bit out of the way but worth the drive for sure!!! Sushi is amazing — hibatchi is amazing — great shrimp sauce and salad dressing :) always busy so make sure you come early! Only negative thing about here is no fountain drinks! I personally hate having to space out sips to make sure I have enough to make it through my meal! Oh well though nothing is perfect!

The best sushi restaurant in Chesapeake. I’ve been coming here for years and have always had a positive experience. It’s a tight fit restaurant but it gives it a local closeness to make it feel more unique. The prices are good and the portions are generous. The staff is also very hard working and friendly. The owner, «Tony», is always glad to see me drop by. All the hibachi dishes are on par with a hibachi steakhouse. Pair those with a sushi order and a bowl of miso soup and you have a satisfying meal.

What’s to love: It’s Japanese food done night without all that fanciness that a steakhouse does with the added cost. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching them do that, but if I just want to eat the food without the extra cost — I go here. I typically have ordered to-go and they give huge portions of hibachi steak and fried rice. This also comes with soup and salad. I also ordered some white tuna and was pretty sure I ordered just 3 pieces, but got 6 altogether. Not sure if it had to do with the size, but I feel like I got my money’s worth. The waitresses were very nice and made sure my to-go order was correct. What could be better: The white dipping sauce could be thicker, but hey it’s still good. This is definitely a go-to Japanese place in Chesapeake.

Excellent food. Excellent. Probably best sushi place(for rolls – didn’t try their normal sushi) I’ve been to save one other traditional sushi place in Torrance, CA. The fish is fresh and I like that a lot of rolls have crunch and spicy sauce. If I am in town I will DEFINITELY come back. The vibe of the place is traditional small resturant Japanese style. Really homey and small and you get to know the chefs, owners, and servers type of thing. Mama-san in Irvine is similar. I usually can’t eat much sushi but their sushi is light and goes down fast… makes you want to eat more. The service is good and the employees are all Japanese.
