Mathnasium instructors use our unique assessment process to determine (with great accuracy) exactly what each child knows and what they need to learn. Next, we design a customized learning plan for teaching the concepts the student needs to master. It doesn’t stop there — our encouraging instructors continually check progress along the way to make sure kids truly understand and retain the concepts we’ve taught. The results are transformative — kids will see measurable changes in attitude, confidence, and school progress.

Our instructors will also set aside time to provide homework help. We help kids understand the homework assignment so they feel better prepared to complete the work at home — underscoring their understanding of concepts and transforming homework frustration into a welcome challenge.

History

Established in 2011.

Mathnasium of Chesapeake has been offering math tutoring and homework help to hundreds of students in the Chesapeake area since May of 2011. We are located in Chesapeake on the corner of Cedar Road and Country Club Blvd., across from Las Gaviotas.

Our expert math staff is passionate about helping local students improve their math skills and excel through our year-​round and summer-​only math programs. Mathnasium of Chesapeake was recognized by Mathnasium as the second-​fastest growing center in 2013, and also won the Best of 2013 award for child education in Chesapeake.

Meet the Business Owner

Daryl G.

Business Owner

Daryl has always had a passion for learning and helping others learn. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida and a Master of Science degree from the Defense Intelligence College in Washington D.C. He served 24 years in the military and is retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. During his Marine Corps career he specialized in Cryptologic Operations, Signal Intelligence, Information and Electronic Warfare. His duties included a tour at the National Security Agency and overseas in Iraq, Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Cuba. His desire to help kids not be afraid or intimidated by math prompted him to open a Mathnasium Learning Center. He believes it’s a great way to give back to the community.
