A wonderful place to have lunch. Everything tastes wonderful. They have a great menu to choose from. From salads, soups, sandwiches, pasta items. And everything is gluten free. This is a wonderful place to take out of town guest for lunch. Wish it was open on weekends. And Joy gives cooking classes!

I thought there was no way this place could be five stars; boy was I wrong!!! I had the roast beef– it was awesome. So much so I was traveling through yesterday and it was only 10 am, but I had to stop. I got the meatloaf panini, and it was also extremely tasty. I will be traveling back through for work tomorrow, and will be stopping again. My wife is also going to be in the area for her work, and she is going to stop.

This restaurant is an unexpected treat. The three of us loved our sandwiches. We arrived at 11:30am and we’re served pretty quickly. The place filled up quickly as noon approached. Great antique decorations and there’s a small gift shop as well. Easy access I-5, too! We’ll be back.

Excellent food, relaxed atmosphere. It feels like a casual gourmet restaurant. They have a small shopping space with interesting stock. A fun place to eat with the assurance of great food.

A good local/fresh/quality spot for lunch. I cannot vouch for their meats, and they could use a little more attention to the limited meatless choices,. That said, a safe spot for good food in a sea of yuk. I rely on them monthly as I travel the I5 corridor. Right off the freeway at the Chamber St exit, moderately priced. Tell em I sent you.

Pros: Home Cooked food, great service, great atmosphere. Cons: Hours/days of operation This is a great weekday lunch spot. I love the food here. This place has a wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and a few deserts. This is true home cooked food. The ladies that work here are wonderful and nice. This place feels like home. I love this place and would highly recommend it!

Great little find on our road trip up to Seattle! We took other reviewers’ advice and tried their soup of the day and were not disappointed. I normally don’t like mushroom soup, but their Turkey Mushroom was delicious. Ordered at the front counter and, despite being fairly busy, all our freshly cooked food was brought to our table in less than ten minutes. We also got lucky with some desserts coming right out of the oven — the carrot cake was one of the best we’ve ever had!

We ordered catering for our meeting and Joy was such a huge help! She put together a custom menu to meet our needs and budget and just seemed to care that we had a great meal for our clients. It is so nice to work with someone who takes pride in their work and goes above and beyond. I hope to use her again in the future. Thank you Joy!

The meatloaf panini is amazing. It has a very quaint feel. During lunch can be busy and there may be a small wait, so if you’re looking for a quick bite this might not be the best place. Great for small groups wanting a leisurely atmosphere to talk, relax, and eat. Some of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had, and has a very home made feel.

Excellent! A lovely spot. An Unexpected trip brought us to Chehalish. We were starving and found this gem. A truly Lovely lunch. Cozy atmosphere– we arrived at just the right moment before a crowd arrived. All three of us were pleased with our choices fresh and delicious! All locals should visit, and even those passing through.

We have enjoyed many of the soups, salads, and sandwiches during our frequent visits. The ingredients are of the highest quality. The offerings are nutritionally well balanced, well portioned, and presented with artful attentions. We usually arrive about 10:15 and are cheerfully welcomed to «sit anywhere». We do… and nearly always at a table for two by one of the front windows. The facility is clean and well appointed. The restroom obviously has the attention of the manager. It has always been clean and properly supplied. Without exception, the daily special soup has been outstanding. I have observed the chef preparing the soup — always by hand she does. A singular balance of ingredients is gently warmed to excitement and carefully ladled into the cup or bowl. We have no reservations whatever recommending Once Upon A Thyme as a Unilocal Five Star Café.

What a delightful little gem tucked away in the other side of the highway! The outside is deceiving. It’s in an industrial area, so at first, we were skeptical. Decided the Unilocal reviews couldn’t be wrong so tried it anyway. The inside is charming, the service was great and the food is DIVINE. BEST sandwich I have had in quite some time. They make everything from scratch. Including gluten free offerings. Wow. Highly recommend you try it! You will not be disappointed!

This place is so full of charm! I heard about it from someone at work and decided to come through for lunch. I was impressed with their desserts, particularly this gluten free almond crust chocolate tart thing that was excellent! And the sandwiches are superb!

Super quaint eatery with friendly service and delicious food. It’s also conveniently located not too far from the highway. We were lucky enough to enjoy a slice of their berry chocolate tart with almond crust — decadent! This will be one of my regular stops during my frequent trips from Seattle to Portland.

Well worth the little extra drive from the freeway. We had the bountiful beef and lasagne and both were great! The atmosphere was quaint and service very cheerful. I will be back next time I drive from Portland to Seattle

Super cute! Super nice folks! And extremely wonderful food. Try the homemade tapioca, it’s awesome! Also had beef brisket sandwich and quiche, which were flavorful and fresh. The world needs more places like this!

I had lunch here with my sister a while ago and I have to say I remember it being a delightful meal. They had a lot of really good-looking items on their menu as well as a gift shop. This has to be one of the very best places to eat in Lewis County, far and away. The food was excellent, super fresh and colorful. I loved their salad dressing! My sister really enjoyed her meal as well. Prices were very reasonable. The gift shop was stocked with specialty teas and cute décor. I think I remember seeing something about there being cooking classes held there as well. It was a nicely decorated restaurant and the staff was nice. I would love to come here again!
