My Son Eddie Loves this place, He thinks highly of his coaches. What he likes the best is that they work him and they sure don’t sugar coat it. They will make true basketball players of your child. There is many clubs out there that are for beginners, this center is for the elite or wanting your child to get to the next level.
My Son belongs to other clubs and even does park leagues and he rather play with Dune City any time.

Dune Citi is a great training facility! They really took the time with my son and helped build his confidence. I would recommend anyone try their basketball clinics. My son went from a beginner to a pretty good basketball player. Thanks Dune Citi!

The facilities at dune citi are amazing. The courts are well maintained and the coaches and clinics are top notch. If you’re looking for a place to help develop your son or daughter’s basketball skills that actually translate at the next level then dune citi is the place to be. As a former college basketball player, I can tell you with confidence that dune citi will get your kids prepared to play at a high level and earn that college scholarship. They not only work on the physical aspect of the game, but also the mental part too. Thank you very much for helping my son get better!

U would be hard pressed to find a better facility + staff then this place. I could be there for hours. Have already recommended to two people and they both loved it. Keep up the great work!

This is a very unorganized business! They cancel their training days often. And if you have a kid involved in other sports, it is hard to make up days when they want you to.
When Ronnie cancelled practice last minute, and I showed up because I didn’t get that email in the morning; he said well you still have to complete this package in 30 days. How the hell is that my fault, when you cancelled it. I wouldn’t be so upset if he hadn’t cancelled practices 4 times in the last few weeks. And after several apologies, he said «don’t worry, we won’t cancel anymore practices because the holidays are over.» –LIE!
Another cancelled practice, he forgot to add me in the email list. SO already that’s two times I wasted my time and showed up at the facility. If you have a life, this would be helpful to know in advance… that practice is cancelled.
Practices had been cancelled a few more times, but at least I was aware this time, so I didn’t have to take another wasted drive — and when they cancel practice — BE AWARE — they still make you complete the package within so many days.
Also they send out emails to you about everything, even things you are not involved in or care about. The world does not revolve around your facility — find a sub. We have things going on and a schedule to follow.
The training is great, however the organization itself prioritizes and focuses on the better players. Unfortunately, if you are a beginner, they will not pay a lot of attention to you.
Get ready to pay lots of money — they charge you for every game and every tournament. When they charged my family, we never received a jersey — and I had to ask several weeks later for a Tshirt that came with the package — yes, again an organization problem.
BOTTOM LINE: If you cancel practice and tell me «hopefully you will complete your package in 30 days», there’s an issue.
The email sent was perfect timing, because I was gathering with 6 moms and after I mentioned the email, we decided to enroll our sons in a different basketball camp over the summer. Tough loss. But I prefer to go somewhere that is more consistent, understanding, and cares about the people — NOT THE MONEY!

Dune Citi is a top notch training facility… and the basketball training is fantastic. If you want your child’s skill to improve DRASTICALLY, consider Dune Citi. The coaches are as good as they come (Shawn Bankhead, for example).
Believe all of the reviews you’re seeing on here… Dune Citi has definitely become a champion level training facility.

Awesome facility, great coaches. The kids love it here. There are a couple flat screen t. v’s and a comfy lounge/​reception area for parents to wait. Clean bathroom, clean facility with state of the art equipment.

My Nephew Damian Has been going at Dune Citi since Sept. Which he never new about the basic about basketball until he reffer by his friend mom once he start playing and understanding the basic then he become more interested even his mom which my sister/​damian mom always tell me when i call her sorry I can’t talk damian playing Basketball and she hungs up. to me it means this place must be realy great for kids even damian never like to be late for practice he couldn’t wait for monday, wednesday and sunday to come so he can go and play/​practice with shuan and jaz an awsome coaches. sometime his mom is busy with damian little sister he can’t make it to the tournment he feel sad but the same time he knew how much time his mom put for him, so no matter what Dune Citi will be the part of my sister/​damian mom and my nephew life. we will continue with dune citi as always. if you ever have any question my sister will tell you…

Dune city has one of the most amazing facilities around the San Fernando Valley, Coaches are great with the kids and affordable prices, along with a great boxing area for the parents to train all while the kids train on the courts.

Dune Citi is a great facility for athletes of all abilities! You walk through that door and the coaches are there greeting each player that walks into practice by name and with a high five. Just watching the other athletes train you can see that they are producing skilled players. My 7 year old son started here about 3 months ago and he loves going to practices where he is challenged, trained, improving and having fun. The coaches are experienced in getting the best out of each individual player. He played in his first tournament this past weekend and what a great experience. The coaches gave everyone a chance on the team to experience the competition and were encouraging them every step of the way. At this beginning stage of tournament play it is so important for these young athletes to learn how to win, how to lose, how to play as a team, confidence, and how to love the game of basketball. The coaches at Dune Citi foster that in their athletes. I highly recommend this facility for any child serious about improving their basketball skills!

I love dune citi it is an excellent place to take your kids to train my boys love going to practice and to the games they helped my younger son get more comfortable being out on the court he’s slowing gaining more confidence but he’s a work in progress everyone who works there is awesome and they are always more then willing to help you best place to bring your kids to train

This Facility is awesome. Starting with ownership. Mr. B. is accommodating, friendly and professional. Coach Bankhead is an incredible trainer and his enthusiasm and commitment towards the kids is unique.

Dune Citi is a great facility to «Train Your Game» there are so many options to choose from… the revolutionary Fast Twitch machine that enhances the reflexes as well as strengthens the core, the Verti max machine that helps with agility and strength, the sand pit that strengthens the legs and enhances speed and agility, and last but not least the training staff that reinforce the skills that every athlete has! My son’s love playing & training at Dune Citi, it’s the gym of the future! Mr. B, Trainer Jay, Coach Bankhead! Let’s Go DC!

EXCELLENT facility to train, especially for basketball. This facility has practically been our second home. I’ve been bringing my son here since September of 2013. Within the past 6 months, my son’s basketball skills have improved so much to the point where he now DOMINATES his rec league, plays great against top competition at basketball tournaments, and he’s gained so much confidence that he’s now a completely different player. His shooting, ball handling, defense, etc have improved so much; I can’t say enough great things about Coach Shawn Bankhead, Mel, and the staff at Dune Citi. In addition my son also starts for Dune Citi’s basketball club which is not only a testament to my son’s hard work (because he does work harder than a lot of kids…5−6 days of basketball skills training each week), but also the excellent basketball skills training that Coach Shawn provides.
I’ve been to a few other clubs in the valley that I won’t call out, that don’t have the credentials that Coach Shawn has and the prices to join the club plus the monthly fees, were outrageous. If the previous reviewer wants to really see money grubbing, go check out those other clubs. I’ve seen prices that were DOUBLE vs. what Dune Citi charges.
One thing the previous reviewer failed to mention is the amount of time this basketball club has been around. Dune Citi has been training athletes for a few years but I believe the basketball club didn’t really start until late last year. Sure, things weren’t always smooth but in the short amount of time the club has been around, they’ve continually made improvements to the facility and staff, which I appreciate.
Another thing I’d like to point out are the great parents that support this club, especially the 8/​9U team. We’ve really started to form a strong «family» relationship. Case in point, just yesterday we played 2 early games at a basketball tournament in Garden Grove. After we won the second game we found out that we’d be playing for the championship. The problem was that the game didn’t start until 4 hours later. So what did we do? The parents huddled together and decided to take the kids out to a local movie theater to watch a kid’s movie and afterwards get lunch at a shopping mall. Each parent pitched in for expenses but the thing that I saw was most important was the camaraderie of the parents and understanding that the kids need to not only bond on the basketball court, but outside of basketball, and to understand that kids need to be kids. There’s a lot of pressure to perform at these tournaments but the parents understand that the kids need to unwind sometimes, and what better way to do that than with your kid’s teammates who go to battle with him/​her on the court.
If you want to give your kid a chance at improving their basketball skills while at the same time, join a «family» basketball club atmosphere, give Dune Citi a chance.

Our son attends Dune Citi for Basketball training… he has improved so much. The trainers are really knowledgeable, respectful, and know how to take the kid’s skills to the next level. We are so glad we found it. Top Notch!
