I was not very impressed with this place at all. My boyfriend and I arrived at 6:30 yesterday morning for an early breakfast. First customers of the day and we had to wait at the hostess stand to be seated. Then our waitress said to just sit anywhere. Okayyyyy then. Perhaps remove the please wait to be seated sign. Service was slow. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the Paul Bunyan meal. My sandwich consisted of scrambled eggs and bacon on bread with a small spoonful of fruit. I wouldn’t call it a side of fruit or a scoop of fruit because it was a tiny portion. The bread may have been sourdough because it had a funky taste. An English muffin or a bagel would have been better. The bacon was on the crispier side. Sandwich would have used some cheese. Boyfriend was very unenthusiastic about his meal. Very meh. He’s had better he’s said. Took awhile to get bill. It was $ 8 for my sandwich. McDonalds has better breakfast sandwiches than The Pantry. For $ 23 we weren’t impressive by any means. Perhaps if we return ill try the pancakes. Maybe I’ll have better luck with that.

My husband and I went her for breakfast today and was not good. The pancakes were tough and the flavor was yuck. The wait staff was nice and friendly. You would think the breakfast would be homemade everything, but the taste proved otherwise. I will not be back, sorry Pantry.

Had a very poor service and food experience. Took relatives to eat for a special birthday brunch. The table was sticky, we had to ask other staff for drink refills, our check, and to go boxes. Our food was mistimed, some items hot and others tepid. The waitress never checked on us and we couldn’t grab another staffer before it was too late for our plans. We asked for a manager that never came, another waiter told us our waitress was the manager on duty. The topping on the day? Our carry out boxes were dirty and had a vulgar message scratched in it also complaining about the poor service. The eventual manager said they«never reuse boxes». It was a very expensive disappointment. I do not think we will be back for our usual monthly treat.

Love the cinnamon apple pancake. I usually go to the Washington restaurant and thought I would try this location. The pancake was way too sugary. It was like eating straight sugar. The other location is much better. The Wi-Fi is private so it cannot be used by customers. That can be good and bad. For us it was bad because we were planning a shopping trip and needed to look stuff up. I think I will stick to the Washington location.

The food here is very delicious. I have had their lunch and breakfast– both amazing. P. S. Try their taco salad if you go for lunch. I’ve been coming here for years and haven’t really ever been disappointed food-wise. Every time I do come here I literally stand there in the front waiting to be greeted and seated for a solid 5 – 10 minutes at least even at the end of the breakfast crowd while this whole time multiple employees walk past, look at you and keep walking. The service here is slow. They take your order usually pretty fast but don’t ever expect to see your server again until she brings your bill. You’re probably asking yourself why I keep going back if it’s so bad, but the food is how mostly worth it. I ABSOLUTELY go a lot less then I would have if the service was great. I would honestly come 3 times a week. It’s so close to my house. Moral of the story– pick you the service standard and keep it up on the food.

Good breakfast/brunch stop. When we arrived the line was out the door, however we were seated shortly after. Our waitress was great, very personable and quick. The food was pretty good, the portions were large. Definitely coming back!

My third and final leg of the«The Pantry Trifecta» … eating at all three locations, ;). Love the omelets, does anyone else make ‘em light & fluffy like that anymore? Service was very good for me, so maybe your mileage may vary, but the wait is commensurate with getting a baked omelet. Two different waitresses plus the hostess checked on me and offered coffee/water refills. Maybe they knew I was an undercover Unilocaler? Lol. Western omelet w/side of pancakes, bagel w/cream cheese. Very good and exactly the quality breakfast I came here for, :). A Pantry lunch is definitely in my future. This location is more spacious than the other two, which I also appreciated. Two thumbs up!

Crappy service. Excellent food usually but we waited over 45 minutes for our food to come and then it came over cooked. Very disappointed

Great breakfast, omlettes are light and airy, different from any omlette you would get any where else. Service is good, staff is nice though some of the customers treat them like crap. Just a quaint joint with a good breakfast.

Most overrated breakfast in all of Macomb County! Overpriced food, cold eggs, soggy pancakes. Busier than it should be and weve had nothing but rude waitstaff. I prefer the Orange Peel over the Pantry anyday.

A friend of my fathers said we should try this place out for breakfast. We went on Fathers day, my father had called previously to see if there was a wait and was told there was not for a small party. So we arrived and the line was surprisingly out the door, we still stood outside for about 15 mins or so. Until a waitress pulled us out the line after my dad had went ahead to see if they had tables available for a small party. Our waiter was pleasant and very helpful, when were talking to her about the menu we all thought we were going to have a huge amount of food which we did have! Our waiter seemed to be frustrated as my mom was ordering her food, however the rest of the time she was fine. ABOUTOURFOOD&DRINKS: The drinks were great; fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee and hot chocolate, which was the best I’ve had in any restaurant and it was not too hot! My father and I’s omelets’ we’re delightful and halved baked which we did enjoy and were not accustomed too. My sister had the buddy’s breakfast sandwich(I believe the name was) which she enjoyed. The fruit was decent(expect for the watermelon) and the french toast was killer! The pancakes were homemade which was lovely, also the texture was great too, but the after taste wasn’t pleasant and they tasted salty which my mother did agree on, but she liked hers. The hash-browns could’ve been cooked a lot longer but were really good. My moms eggs also needed to be cooked longer and she could tell the eggs had added milk to make them more fluffy which in turn made them more runny, and she likes her eggs done. I’d recommend Leo’s coney Island over this place where you get almost the same amount of food for a lesser value.(The omelets and eggs were all TLC with salt & pepper.) Will try there Dinner/Lunch menu one day.

Love the ckn Cobb and avocado salad here. However I feel like to go salads don’t seem to be as nice as when you order to eat there. Just even looking is different. Still like this place though.

Good place for Breakfast, but I don’t think they are worth standing in line for a table at. Baked omelets are Ok. Portion sizes are Huge on a lot of their things. Tables are small and they like to put each thing on it’s own separate plate. Omelet on one, hash browns on another, sausage on another, toast on another, the table gets very cluttered with plates, really quick.

I’ve been here before and it was excellent. This morning I went, and it was so disappointing. My bacon had been fried to a crisp. It was like bacon glass with so much burned grease. And my pancakes tasted like whatever food had been cooked on the pan before it. So bummed out. The server was excellent though and very sweet to me.

Good place for breakfast! Portions are large. I personally don’t like their omelets because they are baked so they don’t come out real eggy but my husband doesn’t mind them. I loveee the Garden Surprise, cheesy and doughy but a little sweet! So good. Giving it 3 stars because service is pretty slow and you are guaranteed a wait. Out of 3 times the shortest was probably 25 mins.

Oh maaaaaan!!! I totally forgot about this place. We stopped her for brunch before hitting the Morley candy factory. Ya really have to put something on the tummy or you’ll be sick eating chocolates. We had the BEST brunch here. My omelet was to die for and those home fries were addicting! My mom had a simple coffee and basic breakfast. She is so hard to please when it comes to cooking her eggs so I held my breath when they dropped them off. Over-Perfect is what she called them. Nicely done!!! The service was quite personal and we felt like part of the family. It was a pretty large menu but not too overwhelming. The prices were inexpensive the plates were impressive. Good location, large parking lot, great service!

I won’t be coming back. I decided to try The Pantry today because I was in the plaza they are located. My first impression of the place wasn’t great. Instead of being greeted by a hostess, I was asked by 2 different people if i had been helped, before a 3rd person finally sat me. I ordered a build your own omelette with spinach, broccoli, swiss, and onion. Before I got my omelette, after too long of a wait, my toast and potatoes were brought out alone. I ordered dry toast, and mine was buttered. The top of my potatoes were so overcooked they hurt to bite into. My omelette was some weird pillow shaped, undercooked monstrosity. All of the swiss was in the center of it, and it just wasn’t good. The service was unremarkable. It’s pretty bad when your tea an toast are the best part of your meal.

We used to frequent their downtown Mount Clemens location, and I wouldn’t dream of giving that less than five stars. My most recent meal at their new digs on Hall Road left much to be desired. The restaurant itself is a great space, nice and big with lots of room and nice décor. The staff is friendly and polite, but the service was very slow, even considering it was a busy morning. We actually saw one table next to us get up and leave after waiting over 20 minutes with no service. The food was the most disappointing thing. Granted, I did not have a breakfast(for which they are famous), but the deli sandwich I had was obviously hastily constructed. The meat was cold, the bread was barely grilled and the cheese was of the shredded variety and not even warmed to the point where it melted. We left disappointed. We waited in line anticipating a much better meal than we received. You guys need to tighten your lunch game up, or just stick to breakfast.

Earlier today was my first visit to this location. I’ve been to the one on Van Dyke quite a bit in the past, and unfortunately this location did not meet its predecessor’s deliciousness. First I must say that the staff was attentive, and handled the 30 – 40 minute wait quite well. I’m not much for talking to strangers when not at work, but my friend and I had a great conversation with a lady who drove out from Marine City just to eat there. So, between what the lady in line told me &my prior experiences at the other location, I was ready for a great meal. I did not get a great meal. I ordered a half-order of the Sweet Potato Pancakes, and split them with my pal, and while those were good enough(not awesome, but certainly not bad), they were surprisingly the highlight of the meal. I also ordered the Fruit Plate. This must have been the smallest, most pathetic looking fruit dish I’ve ever received. If it wasn’t for the fact that the dish looked so emaciated, I probably would have sent the dish back; as it was, I wanted to put this dish out of its misery and just took the three bites it took to finish the dish. I also ordered the The Big Apple Pancake. I’ve had this dish at The Original Pancake House in Birmingham, The Pantry on Van Dyke, and The Pancake Factory off of 23 Mile Rd.; each place made them exceptionally well. While the dish came out looking spectacular, much like the taste, the dish quickly lost steam and deflated within seconds after reaching the table. It was the right temperature and consistency, but the taste was surprisingly bland and not good at all. I only ordered it to have a bite, and was planning on bringing it to work for some coworkers, whom I thought would enjoy it. I’m now hoping that I didn’t make her think that was how they normally taste at other places, because this Apple wasn’t a good representation of what I’ve had in the past, as stated above. The hostess was cute, and very nice, which is always good for a single guy eating out, but that was probably the best thing about this visit. While I am not opposed to giving them one more chance(mostly because of the awesome food I’ve received at their other location), I am keeping my expectations low. Hopefully, they will rise to the challenge and I can update this review with some good news.
