I started with Townsquare Interactive several months ago, when my then webpage designer did not have the expertise to convert my site to the mobile-​friendly standard. Stefanie and her team have worked with me and have been great at customising my site to my desires. Others have tried to squeeze my content into their boilerplate templates but Townsquare was great at incorperating MY ideas to make the site consistant with MY desires. When I desired to add content or to make corrections, they incorperated the changes in a timely fashion. Our site is now consistantly at the top of the rankings on searches that I feel are important to my business. Yes, there is a monthly fee for these services, but who out there works for free? I find their fees reasonable and am free to cancel at any time. But then I lose what they have been able to achieve for me, so I am in no hurry to excersise that option.

Townsquare media took our money and did nothing for my company after 7 months of service at just over $ 500 a month. Total scam and worst practice ever!!! Please stay away from this company!!! It took me several hours and a couple of months to cancel and now I’m afraid after reading reviews that they will continue to charge my card!!! If this happens to you report a claim to your bank or card!!! Let’s end it here!!!

THEY WILL KEEP CHARGING YOU! I used Townsquare for SEO to improve my site rank. It did not improve. All they did was install a FREE plugin on my website. They claim to do some behind the scenes connecting of your listings etc but the SEO expert I work with now says it’s all garbage. We switched our website from Wix to Wordpress. Townsquare went in and installed a free plugin (All in one SEO) and left all the default settings. What was the point?
After not seeing improvement in my website rank and basically wasting several hundred dollars, I cancelled our service.
BUT they made it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel. I tried calling NUMEROUS times to cancel and every time the person I needed to speak to was «unavailable». HA! I’d leave messages. No one would ever return my call. Then after literally DEMANDING to speak to someone right then and there, I was able to cancel my service. I even called them to make sure it was cancelled and whaddya know they didn’t have any record of it! It took THREE months to cancel!
Once I thought I was done (after the credit card they had on file was cancelled), they eventually had their COLLECTIONS ATTORNEY’S OFFICE calling me trying to collect MONEY WE DID NOT OWE. They even faxed a bill to a separate office location which I never provided them information about.
As of TODAY I think I’m FINALLY done with these people. Been trying to break up with these scammers since DECEMBER (it is now APRIL)!
DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS. I may contact the better business bureau. I don’t know how these people are in business. I’m convinced the few positive reviews here are either PAID FOR ON FIVERR or some other similar site, or are written by employees or family members/​friends of employees.

Straight rip off … Contacted the better business Bureau on these fools. They took my money and didn’t respond to any of my calls or emails. My bank put out a dispute and hopefully we find some resolve. If you are reading this Do Not, I repeat DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I will be going to every possible Web site in the world to leave a negative review for these thieves.

These people are a joke! They were all about me to sign up and once I did I pretty much never heard back. I spoke with them on the 2^nd and they were supposed to be my mobile site changed and after a week it was not. I called sent emails and no response. So finally on the 18^th I called and stated I wanted to cancel, funny I get a call. I asked him why my mobile site is not fixed and he said «really, it should be». Then he proceeds to tell me that this whole time he couldn’t log into my website, really!!! Why wouldn’t u call me. Then after going through my google page I seen he was last logged into the Jan 26^th. There are all a bunch a liers and just wanna take your money each month and hoping you never call them. He was talking so fast when I finally got him on the phone and don’t even really care if he could log into my account so I finally said I wanted to cancel then he said ok we will be deducting your account on the 22^nd and then you will not be charged after that. No you won’t buddy cause I’m contacting my bank now, have a great day. Never ever use these people!!!

If I could give this company a zero star review, I would. They dodged every single request, for three months, to provide proof they actually followed through with services they agreed upon in an initial agreement. They charged my client $ 3,000 with absolutely no results, no proof they did the work, and repeatedly refused to provide proof of completion. I would recommend everyone stay as far away from this company as possible as they appear to only be interested in your money, and not the success of your company. They also go around the direct contact in an attempt to avoid owning up to their failures, and scheme the business owner into more of their lies. Horrible business practices, horrible customer service, horrible company. They also make it a policy to remove negative reviews if that says anything about their ethics.

TERRIBLE company to work with. I never once got what I wanted my website to look like and when I tried to close my account it took a month for them to do it. It is also very expensive for what you get. I cannot stress enough how bad the experience of working with this company was.

Townsquare interactive is NOT anything special and turned out to be a waste of my money and time. We are a small plumbing HVAC company based in New York. Townsquare is very quick to set up a website and encourage you to invest in them. They make a lot of claims and promises. The only way you’re going to get business from their website is by being on page 1 of Google search and that takes effort on their behalf to generate the proper words. Townsquare interactive initially tells you it takes a couple of months to get on page 1. They will string you along month after month telling you that if they switch some words around it will bring up your page rankings — they are sales people They are more interested in making money for Townsquare interactive and for themselves than actually promoting your business. In total I received two phone calls and only one out of the two being a money call which was under $ 100. With 10 months of advertising and thousands of dollars spent all I can say is I’m so disgusted and disappointed. THEY THE WORST AND A VERY BAD INVESTMENT! I feel so cheated I would never recommend them to anybody.

Dishonest and manipulative. When I canceled my service they moved my billing date up by three days to charge me for another month of service, and refused to refund it when I asked. They also said they would UNDO the work they had done already if I did not pay a $ 99 monthly retainer fee. When I brought this up with that employee’s manager she said I had misunderstood, which was absolutely not the case – the manager tried to cover up for an unscrupulous staff member. They also made some important mistakes in how they represented my business in the marketing campaign I hired them for, such as incorrectly listing my services, and recruiting a prostitute to follow me on Twitter, although my business is unrelated to prostitution.

Townsquare definitely helped me bring in business and I am grateful for that. However, I had to spend a lot of time correcting their mistakes over the 4 months I used them. The first was very upsetting. I had a friend who is also a competitor refer me. One thing Townsquare assured me is they would post completely different things on my Facebook page than my friends. I was concerned about this because I didn’t want my friends or clients to think I was stealing their ideas, This happened TWICE. One time, maybe, because I gave feedback and they had another chance. But twice? No one was listening to me or communicating with one another.
They also said I would be able to approve everything they changed to my website, but this wasn’t the case. I found errors on several occasions (they added things without telling me). Though for the most part everyone was quite pleasant, I get the sense that many of their employees don’t speak to each other about clients. It was a lot of me needing to repeat the same thing to them.
I ended my services because I had enough business, which is a positive. However, I was clear several times about my disappointment with several things. Then today, two months after I ended, I got an email from the marketing dept saying that because of Google algorithms changing, my website will no longer come up in searches unless it’s mobile friendly (so for this reason I should rejoin townsquare). I was confused because I thought they had made me a mobile website (which they did but apparently took down when I cancelled my account). This bothered me because they didn’t tell me the mobile site was temporary (my regular site is run by my web developer which I pay for separately). When I spoke with the marketing director she said «if we gave you that mobile site it would be as if we were working for free.» I don’t really understand that, because I already paid! I’ll admit I may not understand how these types of businesses work and perhaps this is customary. However, it felt like misadvertising. Additionally, there was a feeling they were trying to scare me into rejoining. To be honest, I think this tactic is a pretty poor marketing strategy. I also felt that I wasn’t spoken to respectfully by the marketing department. On one occasion, I was asked if I would like to work for free (implying that’s what I was asking them to do). I understand they were trying to make a point, but this combative style was off putting.
Overall, I believe the SEO worked but it was a lot of unnecessary hassle.

We really hoped this would get our small business on the first page. On the first month, we went from the 12^th page to 3^rd page. And there it sat for two more months.
After $ 600 not one client came to us from google searches.
Don’t fall for it!

Dealing with Townsquare Interactive has been nearly impossible. I agree with the previous review that their initial pitch is great. But with all things that are too good to be true — as such was townsquare’s promises to help with Search Engine Optimization. All employees were polite and said the «right things» but essentially nothing was ever done.
I used their service for over 7 months at about $ 900/​month. I never made it to «the first page of major search engines» as promised. Many of the popular directories I was promised to be featured on either didn’t have my listing or had an entirely wrong listing (it had another business and didn’t even mention mine).
Once I was finally fed up with all the broken promises Townsquare offered to «host» my website that they built for $ 129 a month. This was after the original pitch where the salesman told me «they would never high jack my website like Yodel had previously». Alas, they high jacked my website — the URL I own independently now redirects to their website and I have nothing to show for my over $ 6,000.00 spent. I never received any phones calls through their service and was eventually told by an employee that «it might just not work out». That was that.
I do not recommend Townsquare to any business for any reason. They have the polite customer service down pat. However, when it comes to actually receiving any useful service from them they come up completely empty handed.
