Not only is this place an absolute rip off, but they’re ridiculously rude & have NO idea what their policy is.
I was paying for a textbook by check, and asked if I was going to need any sort of identification when coming to physically purchase the book — the girl on the phone said no.
I got to the bookstore and OH MY GOD, the scene the guy at the counter caused was so embarrassing! I told him I was on my way home from errands and just wanted to get the book I needed for class on my way. I explained to him that I had called and spoken with someone on the phone and the information she had given me and he proceeded to tell me I was lying, there was nobody there that would have given me that information. He then ripped, yes RIPPED the book out of my hand and THREW it behind him. I was mortified.
The next day, I brought 3 different kinds of ID & the girl who rang me up said «Oh, no that’s not necessary.»

Be wary of the custom textbooks printed especially for BHCC– you’ll find that your teachers won’t mind the generic version that you can find online for much cheaper. But like any other college bookstore you can expect to pay more if you didn’t order a used copy in advance.

What a complete rip-​off! I went there to get a history book a few days ago but decided against it because I wanted to make sure it was the one my teacher required. At the time, it was 106 $ or so… which for a history book is absurd. I went back there a few days later after I knew for a fact that it was the book I needed. they jacked up the price to 218 dollars! Seriously?!? For a history book! History books are notorious for having absolutely no re-​sale value. and they’re charging 218 dollars for a book and a dictionary (As if I needed one!). This place is a total rip-​off. I will never buy a book here ever again.
