History

Established in 1960.

Since 1830, there has always been a hotel on the corners of Meeting and Hasell Streets in downtown Charleston. It was once called the Pavilion and also the Argyle. In our current lobby, you will find a picture taken in 1911 of the hotel. Edgar Allen Poe was a guest here as well as many dignitaries through the years. It was rebuilt and opened as the King Charles Inn in 1962!

Meet the Manager

Maureen S.

Manager

I have been employed in the hotel business since 1981. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in all different types of hotels such as resorts, airport hotels, convention hotels and boutique hotels. It is such a thrill to meet new guests every day and be able to help them create such a great travel experience.
