My husband had the brownie sundae and I had a peanut butter brownie cheesecake. They were both so delicious. Some of the best desserts I’ve ever had. We went in the middle of the day and i was glad because the place is small. A must when visiting charleston.

Wow! Probably the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Great people working there. Very helpful. And very generous portions.

I’ve never seen so many different«covered» apples and the shakes were good. A bit pricey but they tell you that right off the bat.

I have always loved kilwins. Yes i still order superman and no real superman isn’t just rainbow vanilla. It is like frutti tutti rainbow sherbert and vanilla or sweet cream ice cream hooked up and had the best oops there could ever be!!! It resulted in the birth of an angel. But if this isn’t your style try any of the other flavors they have, there are plenty. More«adult» palates can be pleased. Multi sweets are available for purchase. The caramel apples are really good and worth every penny. If you have a dollar to spare try a caramel. Also sample some fudge and buy some! The peanut butter chocolate type is good because you can’t really go wrong with that combo. The sea salted caramel chocolate fudge is also a pleasrable experience for the taste buds(at least for me) if you like that salty sweet kind of thing. Drop in after walking down the market. I have loved it since i was a kid.

The only reason why I can’t give them a 5 is because of the staff. While the sweets inside the store was unbelievably good, the staff was 6⁄10 on the friendliness scale. And two of them seemed impatient while I was choosing which caramel apple I wanted. I ordered an apple pie caramel apple for take out and it was nothing short of great! They also have fudge and ice cream but I was only able to try a caramel apple considering we were only there for two days! The caramel apple was $ 8.99 + tax. It’s a little pricey but it’s really good and bigger than most caramel apples I’ve had so you should give this a try! They also don’t have tables and chairs so you can only grab your treats for to go.

‘Ello chaps! Located in the heart of downtown Charleston, along the market, Kilwin’s offers an array of chocolate treats, fudge and ice cream. This is a must not miss store!

Walking around city market, all we could smell was the waffle cones being baked. So we had to have ice cream. We tried the Georgia Peach flavour & Pistachio. Both were yummy and the waffle cone was fresh !! Would totally go back.

I came here because Kaminski’s was full and had a long wait(big surprise there). The selection was good, service was doing it’s best to get the line moved around, but overall we had a nice experience. I’m sure it’s all about the timing of our visit, so I’ll probably give more stars the next time I visit if my experience is any different.

We were on a mission to Kilwin’s after smelling the handmade fudge while on a carriage tour. Impressive variety of candied apples(the turtle is the best!), fudge, chocolate, and ice cream. I had a gigantic scoop of the strawberry ice cream with chunks of strawberry in every bite. The workers will give you samples of their sweets to help you make up your mind.

This was a GREAT stop for ice cream while we were visiting Charleston. I went right in and got some caramel ice cream in the waffle cone, and the ice cream had SOMUCH caramel it was amazing, The shop also had tons of other candies and chocolate covered goods. The service was great, my only thing to improve on is more seating, actually any seating at all. We sat on the curb outside the shop.

Great ice cream on a hot day! But the ice cream is nothing special. It was way too crowded inside

Yummmmm!!! My fam and I were planning to go downtown yesterday so the night before I looked up ice cream shops. There was another rated 4.5 on Unilocal but in the reviews I noticed it was pricey and one scoop was pretty small(pictures confirmed this). I also noticed in the Kilwin’s reviews, it’d mentioned one scoop was PLENTY. Since I knew my mom would be paying for the group(7 pple!) and Kilwin’s still rated high, I decided to steer us in this direction. It worked out even better because after the Battery, we headed to the Market. I’ll stick to the highlights. YES one scoop is enough! Their one scoop is pretty substantial. My niece and daughter(two teenagers with hearty appetites!) couldn’t even finish because they were too full and theirs were in cups! I got one scoop in a waffle cone. I thought«no way will I have ice cream til the end of that cone» but I did. The cone itself was the BEST cone I’ve ever tasted, and I went with the toasted coconut ice cream and LOVED it. Other flavors tried were the Kilwin’s tracks, vanilla, s’mores and I don’t recall what else but everyone was happy with their choices. The shop smells AMAZING and I couldn’t resist buying a few other items. I picked up a milk chocolate caramel apple(hadn’t tried yet), a piece of caramel and two praline cookies($ 2 ea). I paid for my extras separately and it was just under $ 14 so a bit pricey but very, very good. I’ll report back on the apple! Two thumbs up and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The best ice cream we found in Charleston. A must do if you are anywhere near the City Market or Waterfront Park. I found the price — around $ 5 for a single scoop in a waffle cone — to be reasonable. It turned out to be MORE than enough. I love me some ice cream and I could hardly finish mine. The waffle cone was also still warm, so I liked the fact that it was freshly made. It was a hard decision — lots of good flavor choices — but I went with the banana fudge pie. More fudge-y than banana-y and I loved it.

Delicious ice cream! I got a HUGE ice cream cone in a large waffle cone and it was only $ 5! Perfect way to cool off on a super hot day :)

Delicious ice cream, and very nice looking other sweets. Went here on Sunday with my wife and parents, as we were getting ready to head to the airport. It was very good. The staff was nice, and the ice cream was delicious. I got the Waffle cone, which is made in-house, and it was really good. Single dip was plenty for me and the rest of my group, so consider saving yourself the extra scoop cost(it’s sort of expensive ice cream to begin with). You can also get a mixed scoop of two flavors, which was nice. Kilwin’s is a chain, and this store was a pleasant location that seemed perfectly fitting where it was located, in the midst of the Charleston market.

You must stop here if you’re in Charleston. Convenient because it’s right next to the Charleston City Market, which yes adds a touristy feel, but that’s ok. Once you walk in you feel at home, the sheer smell of sweetness once you walk in the door is enough to put you in a sugar coma — perfect!!! You’ll probably notice this amazing place by one of its two front windows. One showcases waffle cones and waffle bowls being made while the other one showcases some sweet treats! You’ll be overwhelmed by all of your choices, pick something you love and be prepared to be amazed! If you’re headed for ice cream I recommend the Sea Salt Caramel, it’s subtle yet persistent caramel flavor will leave you satisfied. In the way of candy, I grabbed a small piece of caramel, homemade and makes me want to go back and it’s only been an hour! Kilwins is awesome, great food and an awesome experience!

A most delicious spot to stop for dessert. Smells wafting out the door draw you in. Many treats to tempt you: chocolates, frozen yogurt, ice cream, and other things dipped in chocolate. It is a small store with 2 side isles. It is extremely confusing to figure out how to line up. After trying both sides, we were told to stay to the right side, as you enter, if you wanted to order anything. Then the line grew out the door. Fortunately, we were not too far back in the line so our wait was not very long. My husband got the chocolate ice cream, no surprise there, and I went with the Georgia peach. Be prepared to wait while people ask for samples before they make their final decision.

I always dread going into these ice cream & chocolate joints because it’s always pricey. I can’t justify spending $ 20+ for ice cream, fudge and chocolate covered apple… but when I see my kids satisfied happy faces, makes it all the worth while. To be honest, the quality of ice cream flavors and taste are so different than Chicago’s own Homer’s. I do recommend everyone visiting Charleston, SC to take to the time and enjoy ice cream with their freshly made waffle cone or their caramel covered apple. Fudge is over priced.

By far and wide the best Ice Cream I’ve ever tasted in my life. Visiting Charleston for the first time I’ve heard many stories of how this is a foodies paradise, and it all starts with this place. While walking down the crowded markets street, one always takes a break and ventures outside for some fresh air. Luckily for me, I ventured right next to Kilwin’s. Coming in you see many delectable treats and chocolates including caramel based apple, chocolate covered cereal, cakes, and more. Towards the end, you see a bunch of different types of ice cream with interesting yet enticing flavors. I got myself a small apple pie ice cream, and it was HEAVENLY. Having chunks of apple pie in a very generous small scoop was the perfect treat to an afternoon post-brunch meal. I didn’t even care that it was cold outside because it was so good. Not too creamy, perfect amount of apple pie chunks, and a huge portion for the price makes this the BEST ice cream spot I’ve ever visited.
