Always yummy! Even when the weathers bad out… nice to come in and have a home cooked meal.

I’m a big fan of food trucks, so I’m always disappointed to hear that a food truck is opening a brick and mortar store. Sure, I know it means business is good for them, which is great. But half the fun of the food trucks is chasing them around town, finding out where they will be, or serendipitously turning a corner to find one parked as you are on the hunt for lunch. All that being said, Hello My Name Is BBQ does not disappoint with their Meeting Street location. We went in on a Saturday to find out that they offer Sunday brunch(win!) and have $ 10 bottomless mimosas(today had to be productive, but I’ll be back for those)! I had some«holiday» something or other(sorry, I can’t remember the name), and it was delish. Pulled pork BBQ topped with bacon, cranberry, and cheddar. It was so delicious! Definitely a fan of this place – we will be back for more!(And mimosas!)

Overall I really enjoy the food here. I love all of the different sauces they offer too. The only thing holding me back from giving five stars is their sides. Since the menu changes daily, there are some days where the sides aren’t really calling my name. But the BBQ is always great. And I’m sure someone who isn’t as picky as me would enjoy their side selections regardless of the offerings that day. I will say that the restaurant location is truly nothing special. It’s small, kind of old and dated looking but I don’t go there for the ambiance. The staff there is also pretty friendly too.

Great BBQ with awesome Tomato Pie if its available don’t miss out. Just wanted to mention after stopping in there for lunch and making some small talk about beer and mentioning how business has slowed a little. The owner on the way out nonchalantly instructed her employee to make sandwiches for two homeless guys next to them on the highway. For all of the yuppie, super trendy, too busy to say thank you places opening up in Charleston its refreshing to go by a spot like this.

The«chut ya mouth» sandwich was wonderful. The fixings they had — bacon– palmetto cheese — tomato — perfect pulled pork — on a nice small bun that let you taste the meal! What a great lunch!

Very disappointing. The bread was dry, really bad three day old Mac and cheese. The people are nice but not sure if we just got leftovers or what.

Always excited to see this BBQ boss hog pull up at any outdoor event. The sandwiches are great and all but don’t forget about the sides. There’s always something I’m looking to try. Especially some version of Mac n Cheese. They have a large selection of sauces available for you to sauce your sandwich to your own liking. It gives you the option to have a plethora of sauce or go on a solo sauce adventure. They accept credit cards too!

We’ve never visited the food truck, but visit World HQ fairly regularly… usually at the request of my 3yo whenever we go downtown! World HQ is small but they have tremendous personality! My go to is the Boss Hog, and I love to sample all of the homemade sauces. My favorite so far is the Black Cherry Soda, but the Pear Bubbly was also quite tasty… and the Green Machine… hell, I like them all(though, I’m still a little scared of the ghost chili sriracha, I think I need to wait until my littlest weans before I dive into that one!). The Boss Hog and their homemade pickles are on my last meal list, for sure! Our first visit was on a Saturday, after a big morning of downtown events… there was the LGBT Pride Parade, and the Big Latch On as well, and we had rounded off the morning with a trip to the library. My 3yo loved that not only were there crayons and paper to color and draw, but toys to play with as well. Everyone kept coming out of the kitchen to talk to him, brought him freeze pops and he ate it up(the attention AND the food!). I love that their kids options aren’t run of the mill«kid food,» and that there are healthy side and drink options(applesauce, fruit juice). Never one to deny a hungry baby, I nursed my then 4mo while finishing my meal. Rather than the dirty looks I occasionally get from people, I got a smile and a pat on the back! My 3yo was sent home with a toy of his choosing and we left feeling like a part of the family. We returned a few weeks later, this time, with a friend and her two young boys. Aside from two gentlemen eating at the bar, we were the only patrons at the time(late lunch). To accommodate us all, we moved some tables around, the kids ate and played awful music on the keyboard, but instead of groans, it was met with applause. Even if the food were mediocre(which it definitely is not!), we would still return to HELLO My Name is BBQ for the warm atmosphere. World HQ is what every BBQ joint strives for… that feeling that you’re in your best friends’ kitchen, like you’re part of the family, making every customer feel special and welcomed.

‘Felt shafted on the veggie sausage biscuit for the price, but that’s the price of being anti pork in a BBQ joint! It’s nice they even offer that. Next time I’ll stick with the fake bacon(facon?). A small menu with really tasty options. Atmosphere is grass roots which is nice for a change, in a funky part of way upper Meeting. Homemade sauces, bottled vintage sodas, great draft beers… The Hubs was hoping to see you at Brewfest in the Ballpark this year.

I can’t say I was overly impressed with this place. Come to find out they don’t smoke their meat, it’s braised in beer. I got a sandwich with chow-chow, fried egg and american cheese. It was nothing to write home about. I guess the lack of smoke really turned me off. I got the red rice which was pretty decent. The sweet tea wasn’t sweet enough for my tastes. I doubt I’ll be back as all of their sandwiches are variants of this beer braised creation

Definitely eat at the World Headquarters downtown on Meeting St. We’ve eaten there several times and never been disappointed. This morning we tried their Saturday brunch and I must say its my favorite! The Bbq shrimp and grits is different and delicious. The meatloaf biscuit is also very good with meatloaf, pimento cheese, tomato and siracha mayo! I can’t forget their goat cheese Mac and cheese, its so good!

Don’t let the outside deter you. The menu is not very large but what they do have is great. I got the black bean burger and it was delicious. They serve drinks is glass ball jars which I loved !!

Awesome! Shrimp and grits are tasty. The pulled pork sandwiches are fantastic. Try the various sauces each bite can change with each sauce. You won’t be disappointed!

The pulled pork was soft and delicious — there are multiple sauces to choose from once you get your plate or sandwich. The fresh slaw was also great. Skip the macncheese — it came cold and separated. If you like pulled pork, you’re good to go. If you are looking for a variety of BBQ, go elsewhere. $ 9.95 for a basket of pulled pork with two sides and a small roll, no drink.

It’s just like the truck, but in a store, and with more choices than the truck. I was so happy to see HMNIB expand to this site. They are nice folks, who like to do creative things with bbq. While I am mostly a bbq purest, I do like their creations from time to time. Boss Hawg is still my favorite they make. I want to try their Heatseeker Meatloaf, which was featured on a Food Network show.

This«brick and mortar» restaurant evolved from the folks that brought us the HELLO my name is BBQ food truck. The truck is still on the road(and has its own page on Unilocal) but their World Headquarters, or WHQ as they call it, deserved its own page. You’ll be hard pressed to find a group of people who care more about, who are more enthusiastic about and more passionate about the food they serve. It definitely shines through in both their menu and service. They have a wide assortment of sandwiches, tacos and side items to regularly choose from. They even create a «special of the day»(or sometimes several of them) and it’s always fun to see what new, and always tasty, experiments they have in store for their fans. If you’d like to create your own sandwich, you can do that too by adding to the Holy City Barbecue with any of the topping available each day. A word of advice, add pimento cheese. It’s an incredible combination. Also, try any sandwich they have that includes Ghost Pepper Mayo. Trust! Barbecue can be a tricky thing to pull off and people are loyal to different varieties. I have to say that the barbecue at HELLO my name is BBQ has become some of my favorite in the Charleston area. They use Holy City beer(coincidentally my favorite local craft brewery) to braise the meat. This creates juicy and flavorful barbecue that isn’t in need of a sauce. However, if you’re a sauce fan you’re in for a treat. The crew makes all of their own sauces from scratch and it allows them to come up with some interesting flavors. Of course they have your standard mustard based sauce as well as the vinegar based but I prefer ones like their Cherry Cola Sauce, Chocolate Pumpkin, Apple Pie Sauce or Palmetto Espresso Porter Sauce, made from Palmetto Brewery’s(another local craft brewery) wonderful beer. To give you an idea of the types of sandwiches you can expect, this week they offered up the«Bar-B-Cuban» which was BBQ Pork with Mustard Q, Canadian Bacon, Pickles and Muenster Cheese on grilled Sourdough Bread. It was my lunch yesterday and I couldn’t have been more pleased with it. Another extremely popular sandwich that is served every Friday is their«Heatseeker»(Spicy Meatloaf, Bacon, Jalapeño, Green Onion, Tomato and Siracha Mayo). It absolutely lives up to its name, without totally overwhelming your taste buds, and is a must try. Sides vary from Hoppin’ John, Macaroni Salad, Red Rice and Beans to various Mac & Cheese(like Bacon & Goat Cheese or Jalapeño & Pepper Jack), Potato Salad, Baked Beans and fresh made Slaw. They recently added a Saturday Brunch and it is to not be missed. The menu changes a bit each week but it’s always amazing(my wife and I go quite often). The HELLO my name is BBQ Shrimp ‘n’ Grits is my favorite take on this classic low country dish, hands down. You can’t beat shrimp, barbecued bacon and various other ingredients over pimento cheese grits. Add live music and bottomless mimosas to the mix and you got the perfect brunch. So if you decide to visit their cozy center of the BBQ universe, I promise it’s well worth your time and money.

I know there are lots of delicious items on this food truck’s menu(I have friends that circle Fridays on their calendar to get the meatloaf) but my favorite is the bacon tacos. I’m a less-meatatarian, but will turn carnivore if these are put in front of me. The truck is great, but even better is that there now is a storefront location on Meeting where I 26 and 17 come in. The World Headquarters for Hello my name is.(Storefront has a small parking lot in front.) The place is small, but homey.

HELLO my name is BBQ is one of the food trucks I sampled at my first food truck rodeo(a social event where 9 or so food trucks gather in one spot, there’s usually live music and good times). I still think about(and regularly recommend) the BBQ bacon tacos I had at my first food truck rodeo but I’ve been busy sampling the rest of the menu to have had a chance to eat those scrumptious tacos again! I also had one of their pulled pork sandwiches(had my daughter and a friend so we split all of the foods from the various food trucks so we could sample all kinds of fair). I cannot properly recall the exact type of pulled pork sandwich I had during my first exposure to HELLO but I DO recall it was DELICIOUS. To put this in perspective, I typically would not consider myself a pulled pork sandwich kinda girl but oh man this is good eating here! They have started a regular rotation of food trucks near where I work(LUCKYME!!!) and during my last visit to HELLO, I had what I *think* was called the Pickled Pig? Pulled pork sandwich with pickles(homemade and addictive!!) and pickled onions. They always have several options for BBQ sauce and this time around I tried their pumpkin BBQ sauce… YUMMY!!! I’ve said this in previous reviews, but I try to eat at a place a few times before reviewing because I prefer to review any establishment based on several experiences. From what I have experienced at HELLO, you can count on tasty eats every time from this food truck!
