Specialties
Formerly The Market, a one-stop shop for fresh products, meats, and seafood that were used to create mouth-watering, homemade meals by local residents, it’s no wonder that A. W Shucks’s is the mecca of delicious seafood in Charleston and quite possibly, the state of South Carolina.
After having undergone massive changes to the menu by Executive Chef Billy Condon, the final order up at our restaurant includes a diverse menu of classic Charleston tradition inspired foods such as crab cakes, seafood casseroles, fried shrimp, oysters, and a true (and quite rare) major, raw oyster bar.
The only thing you will enjoy almost as much as the food is the company of your friends, and extensive selection of craft beers from our bar! Lunch and dinner items are served daily beginning at 11am, so come hungry.
History
Established in 1978.
Years ago, when A .W. Shucks was known as The Market, locals shopped here for fresh produce, meats and seafood that were transformed into delicious meals, gracing the dining rooms of many an old Charleston mansion. It was from these recipes involving the seafood at The Market, that some of the most delicious delights at A.W. Shuck’s came from.
