Time After Time Vintage Thrift Shop

I cant believe this place is closed –it was the only place Icould be sure to find vintage dresses and cowboy boots. Now what am I gonna do???

This place is a true gem in Chapel Hill. It was the day of a themed party and I still had not figured out a costume. We came here to look for potential costumes and I was so glad we did! Time After Time has an excellent selection of vintage pieces, an awesome rack of assorted necklaces, and (my favorite) a killer collection of Halloween-​type costumes. I scoured the 4+ racks filled with tutus, capes, sexy policewoman costumes, and more until I found exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for: a French maid costume. There was an entire barrel filled with frilly little aprons, so I also found the perfect accessory to the dress in a lacy white apron.
There are two stalls in the back to try on your selections. It was fair busy with students presumably between classes (like us), but I didn’t have to wait long to try on my selections. I also noticed that there was a big rack of cheerleading outfits, which was awesome. This place must be brawling with people around Halloween!
The good news is that I got my entire costume here for a mere $ 9. The bad news is that I learned Time After Time will be closing down soon, so this week is its last hurrah. Get over there before it’s too late! Buy your Halloween costume early!

Huge selection. If you need a jean jacket or leather jacket, they have them. They have many other goods. Only complaint is that racks are too packed, making it hard to go through the selections. Sizes are not adequately labelled either.

I think it’s a little disordered in that shop and it will take sometime to find something really good. but it;s not that expensive so i am okay with it.

this place is worth the visit. you need to take your time when you are inside because there are a lot of products in a very small place but you can find really nice clothes, especially tees and pairs of jean.
also, it’s not pricy at all, which is really appreciable.
the staff is nice and very welcoming too, I highly recommend it if you look for a vintage clothing shop!

Really good cowboy boots!

LOVE this place! I always pop into here just for one thing and always leave with an arm full of treasures! Take for instance today, I strolled in looking for a cheap tacky Christmas sweater and ended up leaving with two sweaters and three vinyl records!
The music in the store was great, I was bopping along whilst shopping and stumbling across all kinds of coats, jackets, sweaters, vests, military apparel, shoes, SEQUINED SHIRTS/​JACKES/​DRESSES OMG, annnnnnnd much much more!
There is such a nostalgic store and has great prices. I’ll be back soon. :)

Walking in here gives me a dose of nostalgia. I think back to the 8^th grade social, the movie Footloose, & Bananarama! I love vintage jewelry, and this place has it! The prices are great. I paid $ 2 for a pair of 80’s striped over sized earrings. This place is tiny, but packed full of great items.

Eventhough they should consider getting a bigger space it is well organized and accessible. They have all kinds of costumes but everything else too. From old gowns and dresses to cowboy boots and leather jackets to hats and masks and even tangzhuangs. (chinese robes)
Their prices vary. But it is split in the middle between a costume shop and a vintage store.

I’m not usually a patron of thrift shops. It’s tough for me to find something I like. This place however, was full of items I wanted to wear.
We went here looking for some Steampunky items for a friend’s wedding. I didn’t really expect to find much, but wanted to give it a shot. Not only did I find some fun goggles and a few choices in bowler hats, but I also found a whole bin full of awesome suspenders and another full of bow ties for a bonus!
On top of that, there were all sorts of awesome accessories, hats and clothes I wanted to wear! I loved it.

It was very enjoyable Shopping and not parking here! It is worth the Romantic walk! Now that I have a REAL Girlfriend I’m excited that she can help me shop for some new clothes!

Awesome place with crazy clothes for bargain prices. Whoever selects the clothes here has good taste and really knows the vintage look.
Even though the place is small, the selection here is good. I don’t typically wear vintage or vintage-​looking clothes, but I still love to stop by because occasionally I will find something awesome (at a dirt cheap price) to wear without looking over-​the-​top. This is also a popular place for students to find pieces for Halloween costumes. I also appreciate that the shop does not limit its offerings to clothes and accessories, but also includes random knick knacks, posters, and other small things that have the vintage look and would be great for decorating.

I think I’m only going to give this cute little shop a 3 because I didn’t find anything while I browsed. That aside, I think if I came back, the rating would be higher!
This place is not only a really good example of a unique thrift shop, but it’s also boot heaven. All of the good boots obviously come here when they die. And they get thrown on top of racks of clothing for boot lovers such as myself to look through and dream about. I say dream about because all of them were either way too small or beyond-​belief-​too-​big. Sigh. They live on in my dreams.
I encourage anyone looking for unique vintage items to check this place out! You may leave without a treasure, but you’ll definitely get to browse some and that’s most of the fun in thrifting!

I mean do you really need to know more? Seriously, the owner is awesome and you can find the coolest things ever here. The shop is a bit small but it transports me to NYC stores of the same liking. Totally worth the trip, every time.

I’ve been in Time After Time a few times, but have yet to buy anything, which is surprising because those «few times» probably add up to about three hours spent in there. But the fact that I left empty handed has absolutely nothing to do with the selection, prices or service. All are great!
It’s a pretty tiny shop, but it is packed with goods– from authentic vintage patchwork wrap skirts (a personal favorite of high school era Nina B.) to old dance and Halloween costumes for your next themed soirée.
The prices are surprisingly reasonable on all of the merchandise, but I was particularly pleased with the price tags affixed to the fluffy petticoats that make me want to square dance even more than I usually do (which is a lot).
And the service is friendly but hands-​off which is my very favorite kind of service to get in a retail store. No pressure to buy, but very helpful if you have questions.
I’m sure next time I go I’ll get something fabulous.

Admist the hustle of Franklin street, Time After Time holds some true treasures. From great retro clothing to kitschy costumes, it’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon. I drool over the collection of vintage jackets (most priced at only $ 20 dollars!!) everytime I go in. They even have some baller fur coats that would make the average weeknight totally glamourous.
‘Tis the season for the ugly sweater parties and this locale does not disappoint. They also have a fantastic (and random) supply of costumes– everything from gorgeous beaded flapper dresses, ‘80s prom dresses, geisha robes and army stripes, all for ridiculously reasonable prices. Plus the accessories to match.
Side note: It’s super cramped in there so be prepared to throw some elbows as you sort through the magic.

I couldn’t get enough of the five dollar bins! Vest, suspenders, and tye dye shirts! If I had more time and bigger balls, I would have flipped those things upside down and went to town. Dumpster dive!
Even though I didn’t runaway with an 80s track suit or a some kick ass plaid 70s bell bottoms, I appreciate this joint and really wish DC had some thing like it.

Bit of a mad house for the halloween crowd. Lots of kiddies looking for their last minute gig. They had a better selection for the guys, if only it fit! I think it might be fun to come back here on a less commercial day. The prices seemed fairly reasonable.

Came here to shop for an 80’s prom event. Mission was easily accomplished with the help of the attendant (I’m really bad with names.). She helped me find some reason to the racks full of clothing, and selected items for me to try. Very much appreciated!
Besides the dress, she also helped me pick out accessories to complete the outfit, even encouraging me to go beyond my comfort zone to fully «do the 80s.»
Great selection across eras, party-​themes, costume needs at a very reasonable price!

I’d prolly shop here for a ridiculous event or halloween. I’m not cool enough to wear most of their stuff casually, but it was fun just browsing around and chuckling to myself.
All of their stuff is super vintage, so if you usually buy new clothes that looks like someone cut a hole in it and poopoo-​ed on it (not literally, but you know what i mean), then save your money and come here.
