The chicken was juicy and delicious, the naan was thick and fluffy and the chickpeas on the rice were great. Very friendly service too.

I ordered Rawal Kabob Special, boneless chicken and ground beef kabob, came with rice and nun. I thought it was perfectly cooked, juicy and not dry, just the way I like. Will definitely go back when I m in the area.

The service was on par with what I expected when I walked into the place, no one was overly friendly just efficient. The food was good I went with the beer kebab(a little tough but tasty) and the chickpeas and rice. The chickpeas were delicious, all the grilled veggies on the plate were great too. Overall a good lunch spot but nothing to blow me away

Very good kabob. I had the Kabab koobideh. I would also like to mention that the guy running the shop was very nice. Other folks posted that the tables were not clean. I did not find that to be the case. Just don’t go in expecting white table cloths. This is a kabob place, not a hipster wine bar.

The food here is excellent however this restaurant could really use some cleanliness. The place is so filthy and dirty inside.

I actually thought the flavor was awesome and tasted very authentic. I had the boneless chicken kabob and everything was delicious. Very friendly staff as well. I will be going back for sure.

So, so disappointed at the decline of what was once my favorite kabob house. Nice people, and the food is still quite good on a good day, but I’m fed up with disappointment and confusion here with the new management. This was the review I started but never submitted from a couple years ago: Really excellent kabobs in Chantilly. Way better than Moby Dick, but of course this is Pakistani style not Persian. Amazing boneless chicken, amazing bread, and the best chickpeas ever(wish I could duplicate the recipe!). Excellent samosas too. Many more amazing things on the menu but I’ve never tried, but really should. I had drafted this as a 5-star review. Now, I give up with frustration, and can’t even muster 3 stars because that implies you should go there. You shouldn’t. The new management has ruined this place. While the people are still nice, they seem downtrodden and don’t really seem to care. The wait for food has grown longer and longer, even with few customers. They always seem confused about my order, and are stingy with the crucial sauces. They no longer serve fragrant, delicate basmati rice, but substitute soggy white rice. On my trip this evening, they broke me. I’m done, time to find a new kabob place to frequent. I went with my son and ordered two boneless chicken meals(one for his sister), asking for the usual rice and chickpeas. For myself I just wanted a side order of chickpeas and bread, and samosas. I was told no samosas, bummer, but no worries. He repeated the order and rang me up, and clearly asked if I wanted the large container of chickpeas, and I said yes. We sat down and waited. And waited. 15 minutes go by sweating in the uncooled restaurant on a hot humid day. We look up, they are not busy, they chat with another customer, but no food for us. We go outside and walk around to get some fresh air for 5 minutes, come back, and wait. After what had to be close to 30 minutes, he said our food was ready. He said he put 4 total sauces in the bag, and I decided it wasn’t worth arguing about so I said sure(6 would have been better for 3 people). After the 20 minute drive home, we discover that the two boneless chicken meals did not have any chickpeas at all. I looked at the receipt, and I was clearly charged for the two meals that include rice and chickpeas, and was also charged $ 5.99 for«full chana», plus another $ 1.42 for the bread that I thought came with it for that price. Unbelievable, my the chickpeas were my meal, I paid for it, waited 30 minutes in the sweltering restaurant, and I now had to dole out over half of it to my kids for their meals. Way too far away to bother trying to rectify it. This is the last disappointment with what was once my beloved Rawal Kabob. I must finally accept that it is no more, but is really Z-Kabab now, and I must find a new place to eat. Very sad…

Call ahead for your food! Especially during lunch hours. He also uses the same gloves used at the cash register to add your garnish to the food. Eww.

We have been here so many times for lunch and dinner. The chicken kadhai from Pakistani cuisine is simply the best everywhere. I love Rawal’s the most.

The veg items were better than the chicken kadai. The gravy on the kadai was very good, but the chicken was a bit dry. The Naan was fresh and very yummy. The service was mediocre. Not the best chicken in the area, if you have other options then I would skip Rawa.

I USED to love this place. I am sorry to report that the love is gone. My co-workers and I ate here 1 – 2 times per week for about 7 years and were occasionally disappointed but overall it was one of my favorites despite being a bit dirty. We even affectionately called it Dirty Kabob because the tables and spice shakers were always a bit sticky. Over the years we saw several management changes but most recently the Z-Kabob régime came in and ruined everything we loved about the place. Not only is the place FILTHY and ROACH infested, but the staff is rude. Before you go; Google: Fairfax county health code violations & Rawal Kabob. Then do the same for Z Kabob and you will never go back to either.

Quality has come down. Sticky tables that are not cleaned well. Place needs a visit by the dept of health. Never ever again. The food was much much better a few years back.

BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BADFOODANDFAMILYANDCHILDERNGOTREALLYSICK! HORRIBLEFOOD and HORRIBLEMANAGEMENT. Long story short. I was coming from out of town driving through Virginia to visit family. We ordered Chappli Kabab, Chicken Kabab Bone In and another Chicken bone out and variety of side dishes. My nephew ate the food and got diarrhea and was sick for days. I ate the food as well and I could tell the chicken was bad so I did not bother eating and tossed all the food. By this time we were already in North Carolina and I called the store that night to warn them the food was bad and gave my nephew food poisioning because something was wrong with the food. The person on the phone pertended he was not the owner. Hung up on me 3 – 4 time thats night acting like he could not hear me. I called again the next day and then he came clean and said he was the owner. I was very upset on how he handled the situation and demanded my money be refunded but being typical Indian/Pakistani owner, responsibilty and accountibiliy are not in their vocabulary. I hope our next generation does better than the owners that run these restuarants now. The owner asked for the food back but we were not willing to drive back up 6 hours. Food tasted horrible. Management is horrible. Not a place to take your kids and family to eat. I will be reporting their restaurant and taking further action to ensure they take the quailty of their food more seriously.

Not too bad. Always get the Lamb Chop. Spices are pretty good. They switch up the sides on a daily basis so you may not get the sides you want.

Food was just ok, they insist me to buy sweets and told me its better then other sweets places and when I open the box at home I found a flying bug inside but It was my mistake coz I asked them from where you bought it he told the guy made it at home and sell it to them after knowing this fact I was not suppose to take it.

I decided to go for the Chicken Biryani Combo rather than my usual Chicken Kabob Combo(boneless) today. The chicken was dry, very very dry… so dry that I just left it and only ate the rice. The rice was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spices. Surprisingly, it was actually comparable to the Biryani rice I had in Singapore. So why still the 3 stars? They forgot to include the naan bread in my order and chicken was way too dry. Despite today’s mishap, this combo is an awesome deal. $ 7.99+ tax for the chicken biryani, salad, yogurt sauce & «naan». I think my leftovers can last another 3 meals…

I explored this place few months ago and have been going there with family and friends since then. Food — The food is very good and they have been consistent. I especially like Chicken kadai, biryani and boneless chicken kabob. Price — This is very it’s gets really good. The price is very reasonable. Ambiance — This is a no-frill place and the décor is not much to talk about. The food is served in disposable plates so it’s not a place you want to take someone on a date Cleanliness — It’s average. There was once we felt that the area next to soda foundation was stinking. They can certainly do a better job in this category.

Ehh. I have been going to a lot of Ehh places lately. Anyway, I got the boneless chicken sandwich. This was essentially kebobed chicken with lettuce, tomatoes, sauce in a naan. Idea if good, but the flavor was lacking. I wanted it to have a very rich flavor, but it was mild and some of the chicken was a bit dry and chewy. I don’t think ill be paying them a visit anytime soon.

This place tastes better when you get it to-go OR cater it. I had it for the very first time when my friend had a party and catered it from there – the chicken and rice was so delicious and the chicken was so moist and juicy! I had to go back!!! I did go today, and the chicken was delicious, but the beef was very average. I order the special combo #1 with beef and chicken with chickpeas(yummy) although the salad was very average(as expected) and the beef was lacking in flavor. I also ordered the tandoori chicken which was DEEEEEEEElicious, but again the food is good, but takeout is much better b/c the place is HOT, STUFFY and the service is not good. The gentleman there was not friendly. The spinach and potatoes were NOT good, but again, the chickpeas were delish. This place is better say than a place like moby dick’s and it’s close by, and I would definitely go back to get the chicken and rice with chickpeas to go!
