The molding on the passenger door had come loose. The dealer had said the work would cost $ 400. I drove to Fairfax Collision Center right after leaving the dealer. I walked in and asked for an estimate. After filling out the paper a gentleman came and looked at the issue. He said we can get this fixed a few minutes but didn’t mention how much it would cost. He and another person went to look at it while I waited inside. After 10 or so minutes he came back and said its fixed. I asked him how much and said it was nothing. I couldn’t believe it. You don’t find businesses or people like this anymore. In the future if I have any issues I know where to go.

This place is horrible, doesnt even deserve one star, the worst service Ive dealt with anything in my life. Had simple paint splattered on the side of my car which should have easily been removed by a solvent solution. Instead, these thiefs told me that it couldnt come off with solvent and that they’d have to sand and repaint both sides of my car. What should have taken a few hours took 2 weeks, then they would email me pics after a few days of the «progress» and it was pics of a completely different car. So Im positive that they were able to get it all off with the solvent in a day or so, but tried to make me think it was a tough job so I would have to pay a lot more. Went to pick it up and the car still had paint on the tires, they were completely rude about it and told me I should have pointed it out before? Unreal, anyways, had to leave it there for 2 more days and asked them to leave the keys for me since I wouldnt be able to come back til after they closed. They did no such thing, had to come back the following day and the large black lady at the front desk was so annoyed that I even asked her to look for my car keys. Overally horrible experience, the paint was still visible on my tires, took way too long, cost way too much, and everyone I dealt with was rude. Please dont waste your time with them. I normally never write negative reviews, but this place should not be in business at all.

very satisfied with everything about fairfax collision. i had pretty serious damage to my back passenger door after hitting a garage pillar. they gave me a low quote, got it done a few days earlier than they said, sent emails each day of the progress, and also repaired a scratch from a prior incident when they didnt have to. the car looks better now than it did before the accident. i would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Someone side swiped my rear bumper (Toyota Camry), so I dropped off my car for repair here from a Thursday-​Tuesday date range. Enterprise picked me up from FCC and handled the car rental. Meanwhile, I received two email updates from FCC keeping me apprised of the status of my car. The lady at the front desk and on the phone was superb with her customer service skills. For a car repair shop, this was probably as good as it gets. Very pleased.

My drivers side door needed to be repaired as someone drove into it when conditions were icy a few weeks ago. I decided to bring it to Fairfax Collision Center because they had numerous glowing reviews. Well those reviews turned out to be spot on, I’ve never had as good an experience with an auto body shop as I had with Fairfax. While the car was in the shop I was given photos documenting its progress as well as daily phones calls explaining what was going on. They finished my car a week before their original ETA and the results were superb. I’ve had doors fixed on previous cars I’ve owned and they were never the same after, always sounding a bit hollow and tinny when you close them. Not so with this job — the door sounds exactly the same as it did before the repair. Overall great job and if I ever need body work done again I know exactly where to go.

This place did a great job recently on fixing the front bumper cover on my STI.
I worked with an extremely pleasant estimator and she personally tracked the work through to completion, providing pictures along the way and making sure to ask about any preferences that I may have had timing or otherwise. This is the second time we have used this shop, and I can say while I cannot remember the first persons name, both times have been excellent.
If you need work you should be very happy working with Lorena and the team there.

I brought my car to Ourisman Toyota for a lift gate issue. They referred me to Fairfax Collision Center to have some body repairs made in order to allow the electronic lift gate to work. I also decided to have the passenger side door painted and repair due to some dings and a scratch. I rely on my car everyday to transport my clients.
I received the car back with a lift gate that would not operate. I refused to pay for it until it was corrected and they refused to give me my car back. After much dispute we agreed to pay for the paint and not the lift gate. We brought it back again for them to finish the work on the lift gate and continue to correct the paint (they didn’t put the emblem back on and there were bubbles). Once again I received the car back with an in-​operational lift gate. They were kind enough to provide me with a rental, but later they refused to pay for it after the fact and 4 months later I am battling with them to get the money credited back to me. Did I mention they put a dent in the drivers side door?
On the third try. Same result. I finally gave up. I brought the car home. Drove it to pick up my son where it broke down. I called them and they towed it to their facility. They then said it was nothing to do with them and the car was fine. I picked it up and drove it home. The next day it wouldn’t start again.
It was towed to the Toyota dealer this time where they saw that Fairfax collision had snapped a battery wire. They fixed it and charged Fairfax Collision.
I got the car back again and felt that I had just wasted many hours of work, personal time and $ 1100. Ironically Toyota fixed the lift gate and it’s been working great ever since then.
Although I had a wonderful experience with the front desk staff the manager Ryan there is completely ineffective, dishonest and incompetent. I wish I had read the reviews on Unilocal!before I brought my car in.

My car was totaled, so this review isn’t about their actual repair work, just their customer service.
I was pretty certain even at the accident scene that the car was totaled, so I didn’t even look at reviews, I just had my insurance company send it to the closest of their authorized repair facilities. The customer service that we got here was great. We are antsy, impatient people and they were never anything but polite and understanding to us when we called for status updates again and again and again, including when my dad and I weren’t coordinating well and I called for the same update that they had just given him a few minutes ago. When I came to get my license plates and shift knob, the gentleman that came out to unscrew the plates asked me if there was anything in the trunk. I had already taken most of my things out of the car at the impound lot, but between my injuries and the exciting new geometry of my car, I had already written off everything in the back. Without me even asking him to, he managed to get in there — I was rear ended at highway speed, so not a small task — so I could get my things.
I’ve never actually needed body work before, so maybe every collision shop is like this, but I doubt it.

I got into a fender bender where my trunk and bumper got messed up. I went to both Fairfax Collision and Pohanka to get a quote on the damage. I’ve had my car repaired at Pohanka twice before and always thought that they were very good, but a little excessive with what they really had to repair. Same thing with the repairs this time around. Pohanka wanted to repair all the way up the left side of the car which I thought was a little excessive when the repairs looked like the were just isolated to the rear. But that was just from looking at it. I ended up going with Fairfax Collision bc I wanted to try a different place. I almost didn’t choose them bc of the Unilocal reviews, but I’m glad I did!
In any case, I got the car back in great shape… like new! The service was great! I got a call from someone from Fairfax collision just about everyday. I was cc’d on emails from Fairfax collision to the insurance reps.
It was super easy and they took care of everything.

The pros: the damage that was done to my car in the accident was fixed — and fixed well, paint job was good and blended in seamlessly with the rest of the car, and they cleaned and vacuumed the interior before I picked up the car. Nice unexpected touch. Carl was great to deal with — very friendly and trustworthy.
The cons: they stole all of the money that I had (accidentally) left in my car — probably about $ 10-​$ 15 or so (they fished through it and took out all of the dollar bills, quarters and dimes — I guess they thought they were being generous when they left me all the PENNIES), they called once or twice to tell me the car was «ready» but that they still had a few other things to finish up (don’t tell me it’s «ready» if it’s not actually «READY» to be picked up… to me, «ready» = FINISHED), my husband’s sunglasses were missing and mine had the lenses busted out of them…
They did good repair work, but I guess they do have a few shady folks working there. They’ve got a sign hanging up in the lobby area that says that they’re not responsible for any items that are lost or stolen from your car. Guess that gives them free reign to take whatever they want. Definitely learned my lesson for next time. Ah well… at least I got a free car wash out of it???

This «general manager» Ryan is a joker.
My car broke down due to prior accident. It wouldn’t run, so I had to sign a waiver to let them tow it away and fix the problem. Five days later, I get Ryan on the phone and he tells me that my insurance company will not cover the costs of the problem, and that I will have to pay $ 200 out of pocket to fix it. He never gave me an estimate of the costs before fixing my car, even after I called them several times during the 5 day span. I asked him why I wasn’t given an estimate before they fixed it and his response was that I signed the waiver to let them fix it and that I would not be able to get my car back until the invoice was paid in full.
All I wanted was a courtesy call from them to let me know how much it was going to cost before I officially authorized the work. What if costed $ 1,000 or $ 2,000 to fix my car? Would I still have been only the hook for the total amount? Ryan was so damn rude. After asking him why i wasn’t given a call, he basically gave me an ultimatum… pay for the work or else I would not get my car back.
Anyways, I will never go back there again in my lifetime because of this one dude. I’m sure they do good work, but Ryan single handedly makes their customer support awful.
UPDATE: I just read Ryan’s response below and I can’t believe he said that I was rude to his staff and used «vulgar language». If that’s the case then I wonder why Ryan called me back to apologize when he did absolutely nothing wrong.
Please do not support this business if this guy Ryan is still working there.

Several days after getting my car back from this shop, I found a bunch of papers folded up and stuck in the sun visor over the passenger seat. It turns out that these were customer sales receipts with full ink copies of customer credit cards on them.
Why would they even enter a vehicle they are working on with a hand full of customer credit card data? Seriously, wtf…
My assumption was that they may actually need these papers for billing, so rather than just shred them and be done with it, I tried to help them out. I called the shop to tell them that this info was left in my car. Ryan the manager wanted to send someone to pick up the papers. I told him I would call him back later to tell him a good time to come by (I was in route to work when I called). I ended up working really late that night (after midnight), so I did not call him back that day.
The next morning, he had called and left a threatening message on my phone saying that if I don’t return the papers by 8:45am he will report me to the police for identity theft. He also said he had given my personal information out to the other customers so that they can individually prosecute me.
I wonder if this is the top notch customer service that all customers receive, or just the ones that try to do him a favor?
In summary:
— Fairfax Collision Center is a great place to get your car fixed if you like having your credit card information left in random customer vehicles.
–Take your car here if you like having baseless silly threats made against you.
–No good deed goes unpunished.
