The Fairways Apartments

Lived here for a year and the worst place to move. Do not move here. We had so many roach problems we had to have it sprayed every week. The apartment also flooded during the summer and it was occurring all over the property. You can hear your neighbors above and all around. Could not wait to move and so glad we are done with roaches!

I signed up for a 1 year lease and that was a mistake! They say you pay for what you get, when it comes to living here… that is not true at all. The view is beautiful and so is the apartment but that is about it. I can hear my neighbors and people screaming outside kids mostly. It is not even quiet at night when I am sleeping.
The pool is the worst because there are only 2 small ones which kids from the neighborhood across the street walk right into the pool without a key because people leave the gate wide open for easy access. If you do decide to live here DO NOT live right by the golf course, FORGET the view… you will wake up to someone mowing the lawn at 7 am during the week. Also, our toilet has clogged at least 10 times and I have had to call maintenance too many times to count without any results until they called a REAL plumber! On top of that, our ac has leaked the same amount of times with us only have the ac at 70 degrees. I would definitely NOT recommend this apartment complex to anyone. I am sure i could have rented a cheaper apartment for less issues. I CAN NOT wait to move out and end this lease!

Worst office staff you could ever deal with. I should’ve known what I was getting myself into before move in when I would call and there would be no answer or the fact that I had to keep calling to remind the staff to email me paperwork because they would forget even though we just got off the phone. The office staff always seems annoyed to be helping you. That was my first problem.
I chose to move to this complex because it’s a really nice place and I wanted to upgrade from my old place, which I did. The complex that I moved from was cheap and just a total downgrade, but it was affordable so I went with it. In the 13 months that I lived there, I saw not one single bug/​roach anywhere in my apartment, which was awesome. So tell me why I have roaches in my current apartment that’s supposed to be nice? My roommate and I seriously want to move out because of these nasty giant things. We get the spray down each week, but that doesn’t even help. It’s seriously gross and the office staff acts like its no big deal.
Save your money and avoid this place. It’s nice-​looking, but really just a shit hole. There’s so many other things I could list, but this is long enough as it is.

The apartment management office to start has horrible service. I am lucky if they answer when I call because they never answer at all. When I moved in they tried to do the swoop and swop and not honor my move in special even though we had it in writing. That was my first red flag and it took forever to be honored. My second concern is the safety not only for my newborn family, but for the other tenants as well. All of my neighbors and myself included have no FIRE ALARMS. Absolutely none! This is a major concern and is a major health and safety HAZARD. They also consistently shut off the water without notice! according to Ariz. Rev. Stat. § 33 – 134, If your landlord repeatedly violates your rights to privacy, or does things like removing windows or doors, TURNING OFF YOUR UTILITIES or changing the locks, you would be considered «constructively evicted,» as described above; this would usually justify you breaking the lease without further rent obligation.

I have been living at The Fairways for almost 2 years now and for the most part, it’s… an okay community. I love my apartment, the floor plan, the beautiful view overlooking the golf course from my balcony, the convenience of the area, and all the grassy pet areas for dog owners. I do believe they are a bit overpriced for all the trouble I’ve had. Not to mention, there is almost never any parking. If you are going to live here, get a garage or make sure you have an assigned spot. When I first moved in during the summer of 2013, they were just beginning a remodel of the entire complex. It took FOREVER and was very annoying since I was working nights and they were banging away on the roof at the crack of dawn for weeks. I understand they were remodeling, but at the time, it sucked and seemed to take longer than it should have. Now that they are done, the place looks a lot better. We decided to transfer apartments this summer when my lease was up and went with the same floor plan, but an «upgraded» apartment. This «upgrade» meant new black appliances (fridge, dishwasher, microwave) wood floors, two toned walls, darker cabinets and granite counter tops. The granite is a very low quality granite that absorbs any moisture that touches it. Water, oil, anything leaves an unsightly stain and the only way we found to clean it is with cornstarch. We brought this to the attention of the office, and one of the girls said, «That’s just how it is. Just try to keep it dry and not let any water touch it.» Well, that’s kind of hard since it is in my bathroom and kitchen where there is a lot of water. The washer and dryer were old and dirty which was surprising since in my previous apartment (the non-​upgraded one) I had a brand new set. I was disappointed since I was paying $ 100 more for this apartment. We then found out the dryer was not working properly and it was like pulling teeth to get them to come fix it. On top of that, there were several lights that did not have casings, the front door has dents all over it (I’m assuming from them bringing in the appliances) there were no lights in the bedrooms or living room and no ceiling fan in the living room even though there was a hook up for it (we had ceiling fans and light fixtures in both bedrooms and the living room in the previous apartment) the crown molding on the floor separating the tile from the wood near the entryway was not dry and started coming up from the ground, the electrical for the plugs in the living room and master bed room were not working properly, and a lot of the caulking in the bathrooms just looked half-​assed and like they were rushing to finish. A big concern for me was we were not able to see the apartment until moving day which makes me think even more that they were cutting corners and rushing to finish. It took almost a month to get all of this fixed and when I first brought some of these issues up to the office staff, they were not very helpful. When I mentioned the lights and ceiling fans, they said «That’s just how some apartments are they do not all have fans and lights.» When they fixed the crown molding, they used liquid nails and set a cinder block on it and told me to leave it there until it was dry so I had a cinder block (which they forgot to come and get) sitting at my entryway for a week. After all that, we tried to get internet and were told that the wiring in the apartment was completely wrong and had to have a technician come and fix it. We were also told (in both apartments) that we could not get cable because there were trees in the line of sight and the complex will not allow you to put a dish on the roof. The only way to even have a dish is to pay a $ 200 deposit to attach it to the bars on the balcony. After finally speaking to the property Manager, we ended up getting a fan with lights installed in the living room which was nice. We also got a bunch of money off our rent for all the trouble. I expected more from this new apartment since I was paying much more than the other one and it did not deliver at first, but I do like living here despite the trouble we went through in the beginning. After all was said and done and we finally got everything sorted out, this is a decent place to live, right in the heart of Chandler.

This place absolutely sucks! Avoid! Not only are these places insanely over priced for what you get but When we first moved in, our dish washer was broken and dryer! Talking to other tenants they all had some sort of broken appliance upon move in. They do send some one to «fix» them, but they jimmy rig it and never actually fix it! Maybe during the «remodel» you should have got new appliances that work instead of just painting the walls and adding new counter tops to justify paying for these outdated apartments! Half of our rent goes to the over abundance of landscapers that leaf blow all the leaves from one part of the complex to the other and to the overkill of marketing signs littering the entrance ways claiming these are luxury apartments… Which is a far fetch from reality! After being flashed at the gym and management doing nothing about it, my family and I don’t feel safe. Oh and make sure to really read your lease, any pictures hung with any sort of adhesive material, screws or nails you’ve instantly lost your security deposit which is conveniently looked over as they read through your lease with you among other things. If you can’t afford a nice car because you’re paying an absurd amount for these apartments then it is considered an «eye sore» and they can tow it as they please! By the way they offered me a $ 200 raffle to write a good review for them a week after I moved in! Sorry fairways maybe you’ll learn to not false advertise to people! Needless to say the end of my lease couldn’t come any faster and I will never recommend these apartments to anyone. AVOID!!!

not a great management company or maintenance techs. the grounds are decent though in constant state of repair or renovation since i moved in a year ago. for the price i would expect a little more but i guess money doesn’t go as far as it used to. i have done the majority of repairs on the unit myself, and was shocked that they would even rent said unit out to someone in the condition it was in. my fiancé was in a bind to move and hurried threw all the formalities of move in. i am worried now what will be considered our responsibility when we move out.

Avoid this place unless you like to waste money on a dump! In the first month we lived here, we had our stove replaced twice, our dishwasher, closet door in the kitchen. Then our AC went out and they argued with us about it, saying it was fine. Finally it was «replaced» a month later, and it still doesn’t work well. We have a flasher that targets children, thieves and management doesn’t care. The grounds are terrible and they have told us for 9-​months that they are working on it. They say they are checking on fire alarms or changing our light bulbs so they can inspect our appts. I cannot wait until our lease is up.
