Monterey Cleaners

I have use Monterey Cleaners for two years now. I use them because they are close to me. I always find some clothes have not been cleaned properly and have to give it to them again to reclean. This time I had to take my pants that three times but they didn’t clean the dirt at the bottom of the pants cuff. Manager was very rude and refused to return my money. I would never use them again.
I should add that after I repeatedly asked to be refunded my money, the manager said that they never refund the money. Manager refused to give me owners phone number. He instead called the police. Of course the officer helped me get my money back. Manager definitely needs to be fired. They definitely have problem cleaning the clothes. I repeatedly had to go back to get my clothes cleaned. Unilocal has lots of other dry cleaners who take care of their customers.

I’ve been going here for more than 13 years. I’ve given great reviews and recommended this place. However, with all the increases, the take away of the hanger recycling discount program, took away the better discount on Unilocal and now, I send my husband in with a picture of it and they won’t let him use it! Ridiculous. He happen to take the cleaning, he doesn’t use Unilocal and they won’t take it. I may just drive just five miles away to another one!!!

Absolutely terrible service! Brought my white dress shirts to be laundered and starched only to have them returned full of blue lint. This happened two consecutive times. Save yourself some frustration and go somewhere else. The front counter is unable to give refunds but told me the manger will call me. *keep my refund and buy yourself a lint roller.

Let me preface this review by saying I believe every business’ foundation is customer service. The great thing about Unilocal is that it is a space for real people to share their experiences of businesses and hopefully help others find gems and or stear clear of duds.
This business had good/​decent reviews on Unilocal so I gave it a try since I am on the hunt for a quality cleaners that has a reliable timeline. I am giving this place only a 1 star because of its easy location to many things in the area (right off the 202). Other than that this business is a rip off. The staff here are unprofessional, rude, lazy, and I could say much more but I think you get the idea. They charge you up front which is fine, and they do have cheap prices. they returned items back that were not cleaned and I was not notified that spots were not removed. When I went back to talk to them about it they acted like they didn’t know the item was not taken care of, I was never notified about any issues with spots or pretreatment issues and I was still charged for the item. I also had them clean it again and it was still given back without any cleaning done to it.

I took several pairs of pants there recently to be dry cleaned. When I went to pick them up, one pair still had the same spots on them as when I dropped them off. I mentioned it to the manager and he said they would be redone and he would personally check them. When I picked them up the next day they still had the same spots. When I asked about it, the girl behind the counter told me that they wouldn’t come out. So I brought them home. I rubbed the spots with a damp cloth and they came out within a few seconds. Considering the minimal effort it took to get the spots out, I don’t think the pants were ever cleaned.

Okay so they pulled through in the clutch. My parents and reviews said that they were great and better yet they were rather cheap. They advertise on their window that if you check-​in at 9am you will have clothes ready by 4pm the next day. I had an important job interview at 1pm, they had it ready for me at 10am the following day! They are amazing and they provide a great service!

This place started out strong but ended up being sloppy. I bring in about 8 shirts a week and every time I pick them up I end up disappointed. One time, there was a stain that wasn’t there when I dropped it off. I think it was from their iron. I will be looking for a new dry cleaning place even if it means paying more.

They ruined a 400.00 dress. It had been dry cleaned at Monterey last year without incident. The label clearly states «dry clean only». The owner, Lloyd gave the dress back and said it was a fabric manufacturer defect. What was most shocking was the owner’s behavior. The dress is tattered with new black stains all over it. He offered 2.50 back for ruining the dress and was rude and defensive. He offered no apology and could care less about losing a customer. We will NEVER go back. We are pursuing legal action.

Great service — quick and friendly. Great prices as well!

Simply fantastic dry cleaning service. I dropped in because it was close by, and was amazed at the good attitudes of the employees. It’s so hard to find good customer service anymore and I feel it’s the best indicator of how good a business is.
They slammed through a large flux of people in no time at all,
They had my clothes done the same day,
And their prices are great!

Um, let’s just say you do get your clothes returned in plastic wrap… that’s about it.

Do not use this cleaner. I sent my comforter to be dry cleaned and it came back with dog hair all over it (I have no dog). That is a problem in and of its self but it was the customer service that killed me. Please read on for a funny story.
The owner of the cleaners was the one helping me. I asked him to re-​clean it and also to refund the $ 20 I paid because of the inconvenience of having to go without my comforter for another week and the dog hair that got everywhere. He was very rude and said they would just re-​clean it. I let him know that I probably not do business with him in the future if he didn’t refund the money as well. At that point he threw the comforter at me, pulled $ 20 from the register and told me to «Get out!» I was shocked and asked if he was serious at which point he told me that if I didn’t leave he was going to call the police.
I have been a jerk to people before, but this was not one of those times. I was very calm and he just blew up at me. I wouldn’t use this cleaner again if I had to drive 30 minutes to get to one. As it stands, there are two more on that corner that seem to be much more courteous to their customers.

They have a great price but the quality of service is poor. After my third pair of pants had rips in the lining I decided to go accross the street and pay a bit more.

Soo slow line out the door everytime I’ve been in… the dry cleaning for the price could have been much better =(Disappointed

I have had hit and miss luck with dry cleaners in the past and have finally found one that does a great job at cleaning and is affordable. They charge $ 1.99 per item — period. If you get it in before 9 am you can pick it up after 4 pm. It appears that they do all the cleaning on site. So far, they have cleaned every spot I’ve had (I have a 4 month old — enough said).
My only complaint is that if you pay by debit card you are charged a $.75 fee. Not a big deal, but I didn’t see it posted anywhere. The only other way to pay is with cash. By the way, it is prepay.
