Discount Tire Store – Chandler, AZ

Took an average 4 hr wait for a tire balance and rotation. First car was on a Saturday –understood. However second car on a Monday. Figured it’s a major work day and crowds would be less. No shuttle and vending machines available. Thankfully I found a way to use free über credit to wait at home. Reason for 3 stars is they have great prices, nice techs, and took care of my vehicles time and again.

I’ve taken many vehicles here over the years and I gotta say these guys have always been great. The customer service is outstanding! Even when there has been a bit of a line, they make sure they acknowledge you and let you know they will be right with you. I honestly can only think of one so-​so day here. Air check and tire rotations are free and the guys work pretty fast. I highly recommend making an appointment (pretty easy online) as it will speed up the process.

These guys are amazing! I came in with no appointment on a Monday. I waited approximately 3 mins in line. I discussed with Chris that I had a slow leak in my rear passenger tire. I shared that I didn’t exactly know what the issue was. The team reassured me that they would take a look at the issue. 30 minutes later, Joe tells me my vehicle was ready. I asked what the problem was and what was my cost. Joe stated that there was a small screw in my tire and asked that I just come back to buy tires when I was ready. This isn’t the first great experience I’ve had with this company. I’ve been a long time customer and will be for many years to come. I recommend this company to my loved ones and encourage you to experience great service and better people.

Came right to the car when I pulled up and were very friendly. Very busy, even if the photo seems empty. They still took care of my car fast and stayed friendly throughout my wait.

I’ve been to this location several times to fill up the air on my tires. They are so quick at it and super nice. I did not expect speedy and good service when they basically are doing that for free.
We dropped off a truck here on a Saturday morning to change a tire and it is ready within 2 hours. I will recommend this location to everyone who lives in the area.

We ordered a set of wheels and tires from this store a couple of weeks ago. The tires came in before the wheels, but they did not confirm the size upon arrival. As a result, when the wheels came in, we scheduled an appointment to have them installed. When I showed up for the installation, Frank, the manager, informed me of the mistake. He graciously offered to put a pair of tires they had in stock (mismatched set) on the rear wheels until the correct tires arrived. Had we not had plans to attend a car show that afternoon, we would have just rescheduled, but we took him up on his offer. Instead of making excuses, Frank and his team made it right. The correct tires were in the following week, and now we are happy as can be. It is clear they take their customer service very seriously.

I would like to thank Chris and his team for changing a situation from bad to great. I had a tire blowout on my toy hauler trailer coming back from the Glamis Sand Dunes. The tires on my trailer were only a couple of years old and been replaced from another blowout which caused over $ 5,000 in damage to my toy hauler. Upon review of the other tires there were defects which could possibly lead to additional blowouts. I had purchased the warranties to ensure coverage of the tires in cases such as this.
Chris had said to bring the trailer down to determine the credit which would be allowed after I had dropped the tire that had blown. When I came back with my trailer for their review the employee said that they could not honor any prorated tread. I explained that this was not what had been told to me earlier. I explained I was greatly disappointed and would be contacting the corporate office. I left getting the tires with them replacing two of them. I had to replace the others.
Upon my return I explained to Chris my disappointment in regard to what had happened. He then took immediate action making the situation right giving me partial credit for the other tires and refunding me back the difference. I cannot thank him enough and look forward in doing business again!

Outstanding service! Much better than I had ever received when I lived in California.

I have frequented this location often. One of the first things I always notice is they acknowledge and greet me as soon as I walk in. I like that. Prices are competitive, but this location has something I have not noticed at other Discount Tire locations — all of the workers are clean cut and not covered with body art (no, I am not against body art, I just feel people who greet the public require a higher level of «cleanliness» to be effective at their job unless they work in a bar, Harley dealership, or tattoo parlor). Makes me want to do business with them, and I do. Thanks Discount!

Love this place. The only downside is the wait time.

Just had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE @ this location, had 2 new tires fitted, then got handed the inner circle/​decorative piece in the center of the wheel, and was told it broke,(PROBABLY PLASTIC FATIGUE) i was told, Oh it could’nt of been the tire tech used too much force getting it off i suppose, Then got asked if i’d like to order a new one, but your paying for it Sir, I’m sorry i thought if you BROKE IT, YOU OWN IT.
I’m capable of ordering parts for a car, i just did’nt expect to be given broken parts to my car, with the attitude of OH WELL, THESE THINGS HAPPEN.

Trick me 200 bucks for a problem that is totally solvable by my suggestion! Really gosh dang bad!

Bought a new set of 4 tires for my son’ car today. Asked for the Kumho brand which I have liked on my own BMW. Kumho branding is not on the installed tires, only written on the warranty card. Also, they took the car out of rotation, put the spare on wrecking it’s «never been used» status and took me out of rotation while I spent less than 10 minutes deciding to buy 1 new tire to replace one damaged or 2 or 4. Also Kumho has no mention of these tires RHG Roadhuggers GT ECO. A worker said they were made by Kumho… Not so sure that is true now.
Anyway, after shy of two hour wait, the longest ever at this location, the car was ready. Did it have the 4 tires taken off in the trunk as on the work order per my request? No, the three good tires were stacked and he disappeared to go retrieve the damaged Firestone tire from evidently the back dumpster or wherever they toss worthless tires.
Then, the dirt on these new tires, especially one of them, made me very angry. It had brown dirt ground into the tire impressions on the sidewall and all 4 were dirty. I commented the 4 Firestones that just came off looked more new than these and they were over 3 years old!
I got my tires, and got a poor tire glazing job and then the dude comments that stuff will damage the sidewalls eventually. Maybe you could try good old soap and water on tires you store in dirt lots or in the sun as these new tires looked like where they came from. I accused them of installing used tires and he showed me the manufacturer’s date of early 2015 on the worst one. A lot of time to run down the road and trade back because some other customer didn’t like these Road Hugger buggers. The ratings are so-​so. I have no guarantee they are brand new. The staff can’t follow simple directions on what to do with tires removed, and the time wait is insane. I bought a set last year down Warner with NO WAIT.
Yea, I will keep buying tires from Discount Tire. Bought I will never pull into this Chandler Blvd. .location again. Ever!

AWESOME service. Would highly recommend this store to anyone. I had a low tire pressure indicator go off the day before leaving for vacation. I drove it in on my way out of town to get the free air check/​inflation and they found a nail in the right rear tire. It was not repairable but they got it replaced and had us back on the road in under the estimated hour window (despite the business on a Friday afternoon). In the interest of fully transparency, I would have given 5 stars but they had an issue with one of their card swipe machines and the individual that helped ring us up loudly said YOUR CARD WAS DECLINED in front of many other patrons which was not terribly appropriate and a bit embarrassing since there was plenty of money in my account. When I said that wasn’t possible another employee told him that machine had not been working all day. Upon running my card on another working card swipe machine it went through without issue. So my only suggestion may be to train employees to more appropriately indicate that a transaction «didn’t go through» rather than unnecessarily being loud and embarrassing clientele.

Discount Tire has me for life. Woke up this morning to 4 inch gash in my front tire. Went in to Chandler store and Preston (Ex Navy HM2) took care of it with 2 new tires on the back and rotated back to front. Great customer service and very fast store. Driving across Phoenix, the car felt like a roller skate drifting in the lane. Put some air in al 4 but that didnt help. Just didnt feel right and driving over 65 was scary. Took it into the Litchfield store this afternoon and told Grayson (nice guy) what happened. Told him i found great reviews on the Arizonan (Cooper mid-​range) tires and he said they were great but for whatever reason they weren’t working. He upgraded me to the next best set and sent me on my way. The car doesnt feel like an accident waiting to happen and I couldn’t be happier.

I made a appointment to get my tires rotated on my truck, a 15 minute job, the guy told me they could get me right in with a appointment. Then when I showed up they said 1 ½ hours and O left. After over 30 years of buying my tires at Discount tire O will not go back, they act like they don’t need my business and don’t care about wasting a customers time

I’ve been using Discount Tire for years. They were super busy, so I did wait longer than usual, but I wasn’t in a hurry. Great prices and service.

Absolutely atrocious service. Truly unbelievable.
This Discount Tire lacks everything in customer service you’d expect. Let’s start off with a flat tire that happened seemingly out of nowhere. I parked my car and 30 minutes later it was completely flat.
I took my car to Discount Tire to figure out why it went flat. Over 2 hours later they come back and tell me nothing is wrong with the tire, it looks O.K. That’s strange. Not two weeks later when I’m on the free way and that tire completely shreds itself on the sidewall and I’m stranded. Not only did this tire now need to be replaced, but the wheel itself was damaged to the point where they wouldn’t mount a new tire on. To anybody, this wheel looks just fine, but because there’s a tiny little bend in the lip they want to charge $ 125 to fix before mounting another tire.
Frank, the manager, stated that Discount Tire doesn’t take ANY responsibility for ANYTHING other than the tires themselves, even if their faulty installation/​diagnosis causes additional damage.
This was on Friday. The following Wednesday I call and ask if my tire has gotten there yet. The shop technician on the phone says it will be there Friday. I get off work on Friday and give a phone call just to double check before I drive there. The representative on the phone places me on hold long enough that I actually drove to their location while I was on hold. That’s 12 minutes of holding in case you were curious. As I pull in the parking lot the infamous «Frank» answers asking if I’ve been helped. I tell him I was on hold so long that I managed to drive there and that I’ll be inside in a moment. He just tells me he’ll see me soon.
I walk in there and ask where my tire is. One of the technician says it’s coming from the east coast so it will be here in another week. Absolutely unacceptable. I ask them why did the person on the phone tell me Friday and they just say «I don’t know.» They weren’t able to tell me who lied to me about the tire arrival date.
I then ask them who I was talking to on the phone who placed me on hold for 12 minutes. Again, the representative replies with, «I don’t know, we don’t record our calls.» I think there’s a reason they don’t. Their service is the worst I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime.
Receiving absolutely no help, I walk outside and talk to Mike. He is the representative that is the most helpful of all the technicians there. Mike is the holy grail when it comes to this location. I go up to Mike and ask him how I can get in contact with the next person up above frank on the list. Mike completely agrees telling me he’s not sure why anyone would tell me a tire would be here on a date and then not follow through. Mike gives me the phone number to the regional office for Discount Tire.
As it stands I’ll be contacting the regional office and spreading the knowledge about this piss-​poor customer service.
TL:DR: Avoid at all costs, but if you must, ask for Mike! He’s the holy grail there.

I’ve been a Discount Tire customer for many years. This location & it’s staff are the best. Frank goes above & beyond when it comes to customer service. I HIGHLY recommend this location.

Excellent speedy service. Mike B is very professional and keeps our vehicles riding smooth. Having worked in the tire business before, I’ve seen husbands buy the absolute cheapest tires possible for their wives cars while simultaneously buying top of the line for themselves. The 1 star review wife should’ve bought the $ 250 tire, it probably matched the other 3. But yes, you can find a cheaper tire. In 195−65-R15 there are no less than 15 choices. I’m buying the Michelins for my wife’s car, and yes they cost the most. You should never skimp on quality to save a few bucks.

Always helpful at this location. Went in for a nail in the tire. Got the tire fixed, all tires rotated and was out of there in less then 20 mins. Good job guys

Went in for a tire rotation & balance. They used to automatically include the tire balance with the rotation, so I just asked for a tire rotation. After they were done I asked if they balanced the tires (which they didn’t since I didn’t request for it). Instead of sending me on my way, Andrew offered to do the balance and took my car back in right away. Andrew had a great attitude and was very nice about it. Awesome customer service here! Thanks guys.

First and LAST experience with Discount Tire.
I got 4 new tires in mid-​April 2015 at this location. Shortly afterwards, I noticed that somehow during installation they had damaged my alloy rims. The clear coat had been stripped on the front two rims. This is NOT a damage that already existed on my vehicle, I am the original owner of the car and keep it in pristine condition. So i am very aware of the ins and outs of it.
I decided to take my vehicle back down to this location to show them the damage that had occurred. Two technicians took a look at the vehicle and were certain that nothing there could have caused such damage. But no one had worked on my car since that day so I KNEW it was something they had done and of course did not want to admit it… looks like a chemical damage. I believe that they had chemicals on their hands that caused this damage.
I asked to speak to the manager, Chuck Gibbs. Now THIS is where the 1 star comes in. This guy is the scum of the earth. Words cant express what a terrible human being this person is. First, he did not even acknowledge me or ask my name. He walked right past me in the shop and out to my car when his employee told him i wanted to speak with him. Rude. He took a look at the rims and then started belittling me out in the parking lot. And I quote what he said to me, «Listen to your story, why would only 2 of your rims be damaged and not all of them? makes no sense. this is nothing we caused, I dont know what you want me to do here». As a woman, I was incredibly taken aback that someone would speak to me this way. I simply wanted Discount Tire to take accountability for a chemical damage they certainly caused and fix the problem. The VP of this particular location got involved, he was no joy either. I could write a novel telling the rest!
All in all, save yourself a headache and steer clear of Discount Tire Chandler, maybe avoiding all Discount Tires would be a good idea. Management is a joke and the employees don’t know what they are doing if they caused this kind of damage (see my photo!). Chuck Gibbs, I hope you read this :)

Very friendly staff! I brought my car here to have the tires balanced and rotated and I was promptly greeted and everything was explained to me. I even received a phone call when my car was done! I don’t get to write 5-​star reviews often, so thank you for the great service!

In my quest to replace two of the stock tires on my car (one of which had a nice big nail in it), Discount Tire came through admirably.
Here’s why:
1. I didn’t even need to make an appointment! The Discount Tire website is supremely user friendly allowing you to not only locate the kind of tire you want but also schedule an appointment at the shop closest to you. I threw caution to the wind and walked in without my name on the list. They got me in right away.
2. I waited maybe 30 minutes. Granted, I went in on a Wednesday morning around 9am, but still. I was in and out before I could finish my coffee.
3. The tire selection is solid. I ended up choosing a slightly more expensive option because they were graded to last 65k miles. Both tires came out to about $ 240 which included installation, warranty, etc. There were still many cheaper selections too.
4. The repair warranty. Discount Tire will replace the covered tire even it is fails due to a defect or an unrepairable road hazard. Just be sure to use it within 3 years of purchase date. (

I have always had a good experience coming into any Discount Tire store; this particular location was just closest to my house.

This was my first time purchasing tires from Discount. I’ve needed tires for months and finally had time to get quotes from different places. Discount said they would beat any competitor’s price and they followed through on that promise. They beat the quote I had from Costco and had the tires installed in less than an hour. I was pleased with the no hassle salesman and would definitely purchase tires here again. I highly recommend this location!

So get this: I’m driving to work, and a big wooden pallet falls off of some idiots pickup truck, and smashes on the highway and splinters everywhere, and me and like, 800 other cars drive through it, because you’re going 70 miles an hour, so what are you going to do?
Well, 5 minutes later, «LOW PRESSURE» flashes across my dash, because of course I have a piece of wood jammed through one of my tires.
This place is just down the street from where I work, so I stop in, and they tell me they’ll take a look at it. I sit on a nice little bench outside while I wait (because it’s a nice day, because it’s Phoenix, and it’s a nice day every day), and like, 40 minutes later, they pull my car up, hand me my keys, and tell me it’s fixed and thanks for coming in. No charge or anything.
So moral of the story: Secure the stuff in the back of your truck, and go to Discount Tire because they’re awesome, and I’ll be buying my tires here in the future.

Always a little busy when you go to discount. It’s Saturday so you can’t expect über fast service.
However I fully expected them to upsell me on buying two new tires but they didn’t. They gave me several options which I very much appreciated.
So they held pretty close to their time quote and impressed me by not trying to get me to buy more than I needed to. This will go a long way with me coming back to this location when I buy new rims and tires in the near future.
