Business Owner

Mark Smith RTRP, Registered Tax Return Preparer and Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor® brings over 29 years professional accounting experience to Cranmere Accounting & Tax Services.

Mark started his professional career at Ernst & Young where he qualified with the UK’s leading accountancy institute. Mark managed a portfolio of owner managed clients. He was also seconded for two years to one of the UK’s leading banks to assist with regional lending decisions.

Following E&Y, Mark joined a listed retailer as Group Financial Controller. There he managed the group finance functions and was involved in a restructuring of the group including a $ 6 million fund raising and disposal of a major subsidiary.

Mark then became the Tax Manager for 9 years for an accounting firm. He managed the tax department and the preparation of individual and business tax returns as well as ad-​hoc advice as needed.

For the 2009 and 2010 tax seasons Mark worked for H&R Block.
