ABC Plumbing and Rooter

Consider this one star rating a negative star rating. This company was contracted through our home warranty company. We never used them. In fact, I refused to use ABC after they hung up the phone on us twice and never called to schedule an appointment.

If I could give a lower rating, I would give zero stars. I have been a long time loyal customer of ABC (over 15 years!). In the past I had always been happy with their work until Feb 2014. I called them to replace my 15 year old water heater which had finally died. While they came out the same day and did replace it, they trained a new person on my installation and I have had nothing but issues since that time. I paid over $ 800 for the installation, not receiving any discount in labor for having someone train on my installation.
The crux of the issue with the new water heater is that the pilot light constantly goes out (3 – 5 times a week!!!) and also does not ignite immediately when I go to relight it. They have come back several times since the water heater was installed to try to fix this issue. The last time they came out they had the audacity to charge me a service fee of $ 90 plus charge me for parts and labor to replace the entire pilot light assembly even though it has never worked properly since installation. I was told that if I had bought the extended warranty then some of these fees would be waived. Since the water heater has never worked properly for any period of time, I think they should stand behind their products and services to make it right.
After the last $ 375 bill to replace the entire pilot assembly, they said if I continue to have problems that maybe the wind was blowing out the pilot light… seriously!!! The last water heater never had the pilot light go out from «the wind» in all the years I had it. As a matter of fact, the pilot light never went out on my old water heater until it died. I sit here this morning waiting for the tank to heat as the pilot light is out yet again (fourth time this week) and took about 5 minutes to get it to light.
Needless to say, this poor service and terrible inability to fix something they had a trainee install has lost them a loyal customer for good! Unless you want to be drained of money and take cold showers, my suggestion is to use another company.

We have had to send a few of clients over to ABC. Every customer we have sent to them has always said kind and positive things about ABC Plumbing and Rooter, we will continue to refer ABC Plumbing when the need arises.

WARNING! DO NOT USE ABC PLUMBING!!! We had a pinhole leak in our incoming water line between the house and the city valve. ABC Plumbing (over) charged $ 3,000 was for 23 feet of easy digging & laying a new water line plus $ 200 for a city permit & $ 200 for landscaping sprinkler repairs. When they were done I asked to see the city permit, well they didn’t get one (not needed) so we did not pay the $ 200 they wanted. After they left, I tried my sprinklers and NONE of my sprinklers worked. I called them back & it was discovered that the old sprinkler supply line was removed with the old water line. They informed us that a brass vacuum breaker was needed to connect the sprinklers to the water line. ABC Plumbing wanted $ 468 for the valve PLUS labor. We negotiated that the $ already paid for sprinkler repair plus a service call charge of $ 76 would cover the labor. I bought the valve for $ 80 at Home Depot and informed ABC plumbing. They refused to take off the $ 468! They are dishonest! They are over charging! Where are the morals?

Technician came out and fixed my dilapidated faucet and valves which were the cause of a major leak in my kitchen. He provided me with a new nice Quality Faucet on the spot, for a very fair price. The work was done efficiently and I feel confident that it was done correctly. I Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy plumber.

I called ABC to take a look at a clogged garbage disposal. They were courteous on the phone and quick to schedule an appointment. The service men were kind and quickly cleared my disposal in under ten minutes. However they charged me $ 234. I could go buy a new high end garbage disposal for $ 175. They quoted me over $ 500 to put in a new one.
Ridiculous! I felt as though because I was a women they could just tell me any price and I would pay for it. Really disappointed by this kind of business model.

We have been calling ABC Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs, for more than 10 years. They have always arrived on time, and work quickly to perform the service we called them for. While they are here, they inspect pipes for leaks and make sure we have no other issues. They also explain what they are doing and why… usually using a better quality part so we don’t have to call them back to refix something!

Exceptional service. My roommate and I woke up one morning and our hallway was flooded. Thought maybe it was a leak from the sink or something until we opened our hallway door to find our water heater was about to blow up (yes our water heater is in the house). Called ABC on the fly and Rich was there right away and the problem was fixed the next morning.
Rich was awesome. Super friendly, right away you felt comfortable letting him in and you could tell that he cares about the work he puts his name on. Overall great experience.

I have been using ABC Plumbing & Rooter for years in my personal and rental properties without hesitation. All the technicians are well mannered, professional, punctual, and clean. They wear booties while in your home and have alway been honest in giving me the real scoop on the problem.
The office staff is fantastic and easy to deal with. Highly Recommended!

I had several plumbing companies out to my home for repair estimates on my water heater replacement and some minor plumbing work in my kitchen. ABC not only was considerably more reasonable in price, they were honest too! I am extremely pleased with the work and overall service.

My kitchen faucet was leaking, so I contacted ABC to take a look. Their service charge was higher than average to begin with ($ 79), but this turned out to be the least of my concerns. The plumber told me just for the repairs it would be around $ 353 and to replace a Moen faucet would be $ 700 – 900. He then said that with the services today, he could sell me the faucet they carry for $ 600. While he was in the truck, I looked up Moen faucets from multiple companies and could not find a single one for over $ 300, not to mention they have a lifetime guarantee, which he failed to mention. He was really trying to make a hard sale and continued to request to speak with my husband as if I was incapable of relaying the information or make the decision on my own. Again, this was the least of my problems with this company.
