I have been going to this pharmacy for several years and up until today have always experienced very good customer service. I have this medication that I take for my stomach and it’s really expensive. My insurance says it will only pay partially after I meet my annual deductible which is $ 1,500. A relative told me about discount coupons she found online, which I did investigate, and found one that reduced my out of pocket expense to $ 66. Needless to say I’ve been using the discount coupon ever since — that is, up until today. Today, of a sudden and seemingly without warning, the charge for the med returned to $ 112 and I had questions. So I called the pharmacy and spoke live with an employee named Justin; he was moderately rude. He kept interrupting every time I tried to talk and he even raised his voice in order to keep talking over me. Finally i jumped in while he was taking a breath and I just asked if he would be able to look up my account. He said no and very bluntly… I was derailed because the other phamacists have always been very helpul and have treated me kindly. I asked Justin again if he could just verify whether my medication had been processed with my insurance or using the discount coupon… he still said that he would not check my account. I asked why not? He remained silent without answer and I hung up the line. I am very disappointed in Walgreens on Chamblee-Tucker and especially in Justin for being so customer unfriendly. If there was a logical reason for Justin’s decision then he could have just briefly explained and he could have guided me with recommendations on how to resolve my issue. But he didn’t.

My healthcare provider said come to Walgreens for a flu shot. I get here and they said I wasn’t covered(lies) had to call back my provider, they had to call the pharmacy and tell them to do it. Finally they said I was covered and gave me the shot. What a waste of time/poor process and customer service by Walgreens. I’ll go to CVS next time since they are also in network.
