We recently hired a pool company to remodel my pool. I don’t want to get into all the bad experiences I had with other companies. Nathan runs a crew of really professional repairmen and the remodel surpassed my expectations and I’m picky. They showed up on time 90% of the time. The guys really cared about the quality of the work and the pricing was perfect. You get what you pay for and I for one am satisfied.

Stopped cleaning had worker issues. Really disappointed left previous review too early. I don’t feel I need to contact my pool cleaner to confirm if they are coming. Never knew what an amazing pool person could do for your pool, they just aren’t it.

So Cal Pools Plus did an excellent job on replastering and retile my pool. They completed the job in 4 days and was ready to fill up. Now they are doing the start up. Nathan was very easy to work with and gave a bunch of pointers on maintaining the pool. I definitely would reccomend
anyone that wants to remodel their pool

So, our family recently had a leak. We called three companies out before calling this company. The other three companies told me I needed to replace the skimmer. No alternative. Estimates ranged from $ 1800 – 2300. Then Nathan came in and found the leak was actually coming from the pool equipment and he fixed it in 30 minutes for less the $ 100. It has been a week. Before I decided to write this I thought I would wait and see if Nathan really did fix the problem. NO MORE LEAKS. These guys are honest and reasonable in their prices which is almost IMPOSSIBLE! Some many people have tried to rip us off and we for one can say that Nathan did the job and went above and beyond what we expected and saved us a lot of our hard earned cash.

We had a very pleasant experience with Socal Pools Plus. We called Nathan to check for a possible leak in our swimming pool. He was very sincere and extremely generous in giving advice on pool maintenance and such — all speaks very highly to his passion and commitment to the profession. When he came back the next day to put in the heater bypass, he actually helped us cut down a branch that was hanging over the pool. Both my mom and I are very appreciate of the wonderful service. We will recommend you to family and friends. We will pay it forward!

Nathan and Howard have been servicing our pool now for several months. I first called with the problem of fixing a rebar mistake from a terrible previous pool company (Quan’s Pools). Instead of cutting out the rebar, the previous co covered it with hideous putty and the rust was starting to layer on top of it.
I like Nathan’s straightforward nature so I hired them to fix it and they beautifully cut out a square from the pool and took out the rusting steel rebar. After the great job, I was sold on hiring them as our monthly pool crew.
Since then and months later, my pool is looking fantastic. They also helped me fix my salt cell and install my new DE pool filter. I’m going to have them install a gas line for a pool heater and get my pool heater through them. Yes, these guys do it all.
Nathan and Howard work hard for the monthly fee and it saves me the time and trouble to maintain my pool. Sure they are very busy, they are the only trustworthy pool co around SoCal! Believe me, I’ve gone through 3 terrible other companies. But when I need something, I just call or text them a friendly reminder and they’ll get to what I need.
A huge bonus is that my huge German Shepherd loves Nathan and Howard. They are comfortable around big dogs and my dog loves their good energy. If there’s anyone’s judgement to trust, it’s that of your K9! Thanks Nathan and Howard!

Just the facts:
I called Nathan about my pool. I had recently had some work done in the backyard and had let the pool go. He said no problem, they could treat it and then take over maintenance.
Howard came out and says the only fix is to drain and acid wash and refill. Not what Nathan had indicated, but I trust them based on the reviews.
«Routine maintenance» following the acid wash and pump cleaning is haphazard at best. I’m constantly having to call Howard to get some sort of routine going. Communication and follow-​up are seriously lacking.
Less than one month after draining and refilling my pool, it is green with black algae spots again. Nathan’s initial response was that I should hire someone else because he’s got 40 pools that are a disaster in Lakewood because a guy quit without telling him (and apparently was so poorly tracked that he was able to let 40 pools go before the owner noticed he quit). I tell him I’m not paying someone else to clean up their mess, especially after I just paid for an acid wash, filter cleaning, and 26,000 gallons of fresh water during a drought.
They have been «juicing» my pool for over a week now with various chemicals. It looks awful and is of course completely unusable with two young kids at home – hello summer.
Sure. This is only because one guy didn’t know (wasn’t trained?) how to do his job – didn’t put any stabilizing chemicals necessary for establishing new water – and maybe the guy who services your area is good. But the lesson here is management is not overseeing ANYTHING that goes on with these bottom level guys. So if your guy decides he doesn’t care, doesn’t feel like coming, it will go entirely unnoticed until you notice and bring it to their attention.
And I’m surprised to see mine is the first negative review. I’m told my pool is in the best shape of the 40 that are a mess right now.
Nathan is great with sales but not as a manager. And he’s not the one cleaning your pool nor will he care much when things aren’t done right unless you make a fuss. So you really have no idea what you’re getting. Hire at your own risk.
In fairness, they are «fixing» my pool but not without a lot of follow-​up and fight from me. A giant headache. I will update with a more positive review when we can use our pool again and it’s proven that something is being implemented to ensure greater supervision over the staff so this doesn’t happen again. It’s not enough to just blame it on the pool guy in my book. Management allowed it to be possible for one guy to slack off that badly. Zero accountability. Not acceptable.
UPDATE ⁷⁄₂₄: My pool is clear and was deemed «safe» by Howard. My daughter swam today and her hair is BRIGHT GREEN. Why? Because they’ve been dumping tons of copper in my pool to fix the algae problem they created. This is really unbelievable.

Spoke with the infamous Nathan himself and unfortunately my location is out of his service area. Freakin aye! *throws tomatoes*
I have been maintaining my pool on my own for over 7 years and I’ll admit I’m pretty darn good. Hey I need to brag okay! Let me have my moment.
Until now – I couldn’t get my pool out of a pretty jade green color. I tried and tried to balance my PH and every week it would spike back up. Not to mention my chlorine would be shot (0) in a week, even after dumping 3 – 4 gallons weekly. That’s a lotta mula!!!$$
I spoke with Nathan and he walked me through what I was doing wrong, what to do to fix the issue, and a pointer after I clear this green giant mess. He told me what not to buy from my pool store because everyone knows they try to sell you everything.
To wrap this up, I highly recommend this guy!
Not many people will spend 14 minutes with a stranger over the phone and give expert advice in exchange for nothing. I didn’t tell him I found him on Unilocal until the end.
The least I could do is write a review on what a pleasant and honest conversation I had with him.

Super great people, offered free advice, will definitely use them for pool service needs.

I called Nathan because my current pool guy was not fixing the problem with pool and was just dumping chemicals in while the pool was getting more and more green. Nathan was at my house less than 15 minutes after I called and was able to get the pump working again. I look forward to his continued service and problem solving!

SoCal pools plus is legit .the owner Nathan showed up to adress the pool heater problems and was honest enough to me it’s better to just get a new heater than nickel and dime fixing the old one from the 80s. also upgraded to a new pool pump that was eco-​friendly that was recommended by Nathan and had high ratings on Amazon. overall our experience with SoCal pool plus was excellent

Nathan of SoCal Pools Plus came to my house in less than 30 minutes after my initial call to him which was a great sign. He looked over my pool and explained to me what he can do and how the program works. He was very thorough.
A few days later one of his cleaners arrive to clean the pool and clean out the DE filter just as we agreed upon. There was an issue with the DE filter which they quickly resolved and got it running again without any hassle to us. Great job guys.
So far they have done what they said they would and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

My husband and our family recently purchased a new home that came with a pool. Warning: We have ZERO knowledge and experience on how to maintain a pool. We weren’t planning on buying a home with a pool. You could say, the pool just came with the house.
Anyway, three days after we moved in, we noticed that the pool started to turn really green, and I mean, swampy green. So I decided to Unilocal a pool cleaning service and called SoCal Pools Plus. I spoke to Nathan and explained to him about our pool turning green. I wanted to be courteous and asked if he was available to come by the following day to check it out. He actually insisted that he come see our pool right away to make sure he can save it. Nathan was at our house a couple hours after our call. He and Howard hopped right in and started to treat and clean our pool. I’m glad they came out sooner rather than later because they were able to save it right in time!
These guys are really cool and down to earth. Very honest and professional. Their prices are reasonable. Since their first visit, they’ve installed a new energy efficient pool pump for us and has come buy a few times to help us out with teaching us how to maintain our pool. (Again, we’re pretty newbie!) Big thanks to Nathan, Howard and the rest of your team for helping us out and being patient! Highly recommended!!!

WOW! If you have a pool, call these guys ASAP!
I contacted Nathan at SoCal Pools Plus about my in-​ground pool that I had let go green (ick) over the winter months. I figured I’d have the pros clear it up, then I’d start my own maintenance again with the fresh start. After working on it for 4 – 5 days, the verdict was that there was too much algae built up in the water and on the surfaces. The only option was to drain it, clean it, and refill it. Nathan assured me this was truly the «last resort» and they don’t quickly opt for using so much water these days. I went with their recommendation and the job was completed very quickly. Today the pool is sparkling clear and clean.
They gained so much of my trust, I decided to have them replace my 20 year old pump and filter system. They provided and installed a new high-​efficiency pump and refurbished filter, both of which are working 1000 times better than my old set up.
And, realizing my own pool-​care deficiencies in all this, I have also booked them to come by and do weekly maintenance. They completely earned my trust, my business and this glowing review! They provide great service at very fair (if not low) prices, and always keep the environment in mind, both qualities I like to reward with my business choices.
Kudos to Nathan and Howard for their integrity, professionalism and honesty. This company does it right!

First of all, my wife and I want to say thank you to Nathan and Howard for their stellar response time to help with our swimming pool needs. We recently just moved in our house and were doing a lot of work. Considering all the stress we’ve taken, these guys definitely eased our worries about fixing and maintaining our pool. Very professional with their work, honest with their recommendations, and prompt with their time schedule. In our first meeting, after chatting with them– Howard jumped right in to skim and brush our green colored pool. Even my wife was very impressed, she was like «this is guy is seriously fast!» Summer is around the corner and we can’t wait to enjoy our outdoors!!!

I had some issues with my former pool cleaner about three months back. The guy was over charging me for repairs and services not performed. I hired these guys. He did a lot of actual repairs and didn’t even charge me because I was a new customer. Wow, what a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders when I found Nate. I help my mom out a lot because she is quite old and it’s such a shame that some service providers take advantage of the elderly. The last pool guy was charging my mom for a filter cleaning nearly every other month, which just didn’t make sense because no one uses the pool and it’s never heated. Upon meeting Nate, it was obvious he is an honest pool service provider and he stayed with us for nearly an hour at the pool answering our questions and educating us. Plus, he does a great job cleaning the pool and he is very easy to get a hold of — something very important to me as I don’t live with my mom. 5 Stars for sure. HIGHLY recommended. Thanks Nate!!!
