Citibank, N.A. BR. #691

I don’t feel it should take 30 minutes to get my money out of a bank that I pay to hold my money. Don’t be cheap and hire more tellers

I’ve been banking here since high school… yeah, an awful long time. It started out in a different mall location and was originally a California Federal location.
Aside from crap construction being done outside and the revamping of the parking in front, this has always been a decent place to bank.
Location itself is pretty convenient, and the tellers here are great. They are good at remembering your name, and are nice and friendly.
Only complaint other than construction outside (not their fault, mall construction), and parking situation, is that they changed their hours a few months ago. Kind of crap hours, makes it inconvenient to get here when they close so early.

I had the worst experience at this branch today! I got a letter from Citibank recently telling me that one of my accounts is inactive and I need to go in the branch to make it active again. When I explained to the teller what I need to do, she opened up her notebook and start reading through her notes, which made me nervous that she did not know what she was doing. She then printed out paperwork and started copying information from my driver’s license slowly and eventually let me sign it. Afterwards, she requested that I to start over because I signed too fast (I was in a hurry) and the signature does not match the driver’s license. We started over. After we finished the 2^nd time she told me that I need to start over a 3^rd time because her supervisor was not at the branch at that time and I need to leave the date field blank until tomorrow when her supervisor would be there. It’s a legal document so I assume I need to date when I sign it. But despite my hesitation I agree to try again a 3^rd time. After waiting a while, the teller comes back to inform me that I had to wait even longer because someone just queued a bunch of documents to print. This was after spending 15 – 20 minutes getting nothing done with my 5 year old bouncing off the walls. The letter I received from Citibank only told me that I need to go to a branch to fill out some paperwork. It did not mention the need to visit during special times when a supervisor was available. I have had great experience at other Citibank branches, but this one by far has the worst service.

Why does it take 45 – 60 days to reimburse my Citibank visa account that was reported as fraud the same day it was used?

First of all, how awesome is it that this bank does not require their customers to fill out a deposit slip?! It makes for a quicker visit and less paper to waste :)
This branch is located at Cerritos Mall. It’s right next to Red Robin. I’m sure parking can be a pain in the butt, depending on what day and time you go, but today was a cinch.
This is the first Citi Bank ever that I’ve visited. And they made such an impression on me! Not only do they not require deposit slips, but the color of their chairs automatically pop out at you! It instantly brightened my mood even more (thanks to the coffee I had in my hand). The bank wasn’t stuffy or musty (I’ve been to those kinds of banks before). It was organized and clean, just the way I like it: D
A female banker immediately greeted us happily as my cousin and I entered their bank and she directed us where to go. I was about to fill out a deposit slip when I noticed that there weren’t any on the countertop. I asked my cousin if she saw one because I thought I missed something on the way in. We were both confused, so we asked the greeter and she nicely told us that we didn’t need one :)
Our teller was really nice. I didn’t catch her name, though. Anyway, she asked me a weird question: Where was the account opened? I was at the bank as a favor for my Mom, so I had no idea. She said she could find out on her own, but I called my Mom to make things a little quicker. If the bank is not opened in CA, the state in which the bank was opened needs to be known, so that the proper funds can be transferred. I’ve never been asked this question before at my person bank, Chase, but then again, I opened it here in CA.

I come here to do business banking and the staff is very friendly. They know our family and always ask how everyone is, but still manage to handle the transaction in a very fast, efficient manner. Parking is a bit of a nightmare since this branch is attached to the mall, but I always just park straight back by the Bank of America and walk.

I enjoy this particular Citibank branch more than others, mostly because I have started cultivating personal relationships with the personal bankers… but overall, I think the ThankYou points could really be accued up to something good, and so far, I really enjoy the service I have gotten here everytime I have come to visit. =]

When it comes to a bank in Cerritos that exemplifies excellent customer service and convenience, Citibank at the Cerritos Mall is the place to trust your money in. I have been a long time patron of Citibank and love the location of this bank. It is visible from the left front entrance of the Cerritos Mall (close to Red Robin) and easily accessible from the parking lot. There are 2 ATM machines in a covered and secure area. There are also 2 entrances to the bank, one from the outside and the other from inside the mall. I like knowing that my bank is located in a place where I can do some shopping or run errands without having to move my car from its parking space. The bank tellers are a diverse group, mostly Asian, but are friendly and helpful. In fact, you are greeted as soon as you enter the glass double doors and depending on how long the line is, are provided with competent and fast service. Oh and if you open up an account, ask for the freebies, they have great pens and I even got a lunch sack!
