C-Town

This place has the feel of a small corner store, except bigger. And yet… they still don’t have a lot of the things you came there to buy. It smells of seafood. This is true even in the bakery and produce aisles.
As you wander the aisles full of Mexican spices looking for a recognizable canned good you can’t help buy feel immersed in a culture other than your own. And not in the magical Epcot kind of way. This place is probably fine for the locals who know what to expect, but for someone in from out of town just looking for a quick snack and not a culinary field trip, it is no bueno.
Go to the bathroom before you come to this place. They do have one, but you have to go through a doorway marked «employees only» down an unlit hallway with ladders and paint cans on the ground, then through another door leading to a staircase to a second floor (presumably where the abandoned security and management offices are). It felt like the beginning of a horror movie, and I was the dumb girl wandering down the dark alley by herself. And before you say that I wasn’t allowed there, I should point out that an employee directed me down first doorway when I asked where the bathroom was. For all that I know, she was in it with the axe murderers and I managed to escape in the knick of time!
$ 10 minimum on credit card purchases. Thank goodness they overcharged me on a couple of items or I’m not sure I would have made the cut!
