Taco Mix is a wonderful family restaurant with authentic favors and an inviting atmosphere. If you’re looking for something more homogenized, don’t go here. However, if you want that homey feel that so many eateries today try so hard to avoid, by all means stop in! You won’t be disappointed.

Good food :) I really love how they make their food taste like Mexican home made! Even when they got my order wrong and I was pissed I didn’t say anything cause honestly I don’t like giving anyone a hard time so I ate and tried the Mexican breakfast and it was amazing! I was not disappointed one bit! I was very satisfied, sure it doesn’t look like a 5 star to dine in but the food is definitely a 5 star worth! Thank you Taco mix!

I don’t think I’ll come back here. Ordered a veggie burrito, it was mediocre. I read all these awesome reviews but in reality it’s ok, I don’t think the tortillas were even fresh. They were stale. Warning don’t order carne Assad burrito for takeout, because they will only add a spoonful of meat. Rip off.

No just no. I ordered shrimp ceviche and it was abundantly obvious that it was made w frozen shrimp. Not only that, all the other components were muddled together in what I can best describe as a nasty cold soup. I took one bite and had to spit it out.

Oh, Taco Mix. Where do I start? Home-cooked meals meaning that it’s always good if not always the same. The two ladies who cook at lunch don’t seem to follow a recipe or anything. Not a bad thing– tastes are inconsistent but always good. Always good is A OK in my book.

This place rocks. Food is great, authentic and fresh! I’d recommend this place any day. The restaurant environment isn’t anything special, but for us foodies, that don’t matter!

I just had there soft shell taco, one word delicious! I’m very health conscious and was craving some homemade style soft shell tacos. I came across this restaurant on Unilocal and reviews sounded awesome. Made a trip there last night, the restaurant was empty but the owner(I think he’s the owner) made up for the lack of visible bodies. He was very polite even made a berry smoothie for me to try while I wait for my meal. I ordered 5 soft shell taco, the marinated pork, grilled chicken, & beef tongue, very fresh and delicious just the right amount of seasoning. I didn’t feel like I was sacrificing my waist line for a delicious meal. Can’t wait to make several trips back to try there other dishes.

Great authentic food and nice people. Very comfy atmosphere — I was there last year and loved the food — now I work in the area and am excited to find awesome food and good prices! Thankyou!

I have lived in Central Falls a long time so I remember when this place used to be Kentucky Fried Chicken and then it was a meat market but now I think they have it right. You order from a counter and the place looks like it was formally a KFC but that should not stop you. The food is from different parts of Mexico and Central America but it’s all good. The staff is friendly and there is plenty of parking.

Fantastic authentic Mexican at a low price. Went in for lunch, got a taco al pastor and on the guy’s recommendation, the pozole. Really, really, really good. The tortillas were grilled, the meat fresh and perfectly flavored in the taco. The pozole was rich, flavorful and warming. This place is a hidden gem and I will be back soon!

I love taco mix! authentic and delicious mexican food at a great price. a man who i am pretty sure is the owner is there every time i go and he is very sweet and thanks me profusely for my business each visit. when we were there last night getting take out something was accidentally not placed in the bag(the chips to go with the pozole we had ordered — we wouldn’t have noticed it wasn’t there). he called us and offered to deliver it but we were only a block away. when we went back we were also given horchata and huge apologies. another time, as we were waiting for our take out, we were given freshly squeezed lime drinks which were a tasty and tangy treat. I love when a restaurant owner is enthusiastic about what he is doing and that is definitely the case at taco mix. floutas are my favorite mexican food and the ones here are delicious. the only type they have is chicken but they are so flavorful. the guacamole is awesome and the red salsa extremely hot but has a lot of flavor with its kick. the nachos are great too and so are the burritos we have tried. the only negative thing i have to say is that when you order at the counter sometimes it can take a few minutes but i don’t think that’s a bad thing, that you’re waiting for your food to be cooked fresh for you.

Stopped into the Taco Mix in the early afternoon. There were two ladies behind the counter speaking to each other and ignoring us as we walked in. We walked up to them and said excuse me and one of them handed us menus. I asked if we were able to dine in(there was only one couple in the entire restaurant at the time… the place was EMPTY) she said: «Sit where you want.» Then continued talking to the lady cooking. After choosing our seats and reviewing them menu I ordered the Chicken taco’s and a cheese papusa. The taco’s came out pretty quickly and the chicken was seasoned nicely. Our plates sat bare for more than 20 minutes, no sign of our waitress, our drinks, or the papusas. As soon as i stood up to inquire as to where our papusa’s were the waitress yelled across the restaurant that«they’re cooking now…» When the food finally decided to come out and grace us with it’s presence they were the carnita’s papusas, not the cheese ones which we ordered. By this point i was so upset by being ignored and neglected that i gave the food back and asked for the check. The waitress just rolled her eyes, got the check, and rushed us out the door. It’s sad the service i received was so poor because the little food i actually got to consume was pretty good.

If I could sum up this place in 3 words: ain’t all dat While the meat in my tacos tasted nice, the other ingredients left something to be desired. The tacos were store bought, the lettuce was wilted and the sour cream was not the good kind of sour. Add to that the fact that the service can be spotty and the food weirdly executed(cold cabbage on a warm pupusa?) the place is disappointing as it does not live up to the potential it is capable of reaching.

None of that Chipotle-style walk down the assembly line BS here… this is where you go for a real-deal, made-to-order, Mexican flavor explosion burrito. Taco Mix looks a little strange from the outside — it’s a former KFC with one of those curved wall of windows facing the street but it’s really sweet inside: super-clean, lots of plants and cultural knick-knacks, not sketchy in the slightest. Order to dine in or take out with the ALWAYS friendly person at the counter; they speak both English and Spanish. There are loads of menu options(tortas, tamales, tacos, etc) including house-made drinks like horchata and Mexican sodas, also a full breakfast menu starting at 5AM! including«Mexican Breakfast» and«Guatemalan Breakfast» plates with no explanation; I’m determined to get to bottom of that mystery. No alcohol served. I’ve had Super Burritos with pork(lots of fat), chicken(TONS of spiced-out chicken), but what has me really cheering ¡Olé! is a veggie burrito which isn’t on the menu. As mentioned in another review, what takes this burrito to another level is hunks of pan-FRIED CHEESE. They have their own parking lot — very nice to not deal with street parking on the unpredictable Broad St. in CF.

I wanna start by saying this: I am a Vegetarian Burrito Enthusiast. But some restaurants don’t offer vegetarian burritos. So you have to order a regular burrito, but without meat. Half the time you get a tortilla stuffed with bland rice, a few beans, and a whole lotta lettuce. Very unsatisfying. I’ve been eyeing Taco Mix since it opened a couple of months ago, but today was my first actual visit. Sure enough, they did not have a vegetarian burrito. I ordered a Super Burrito with no meat, not knowing what to expect. It was terrific! Lots of peppers and onions, hearty chunks of fried cheese, beans, rice, and killer guacamole. The burrito was lovely, football-sized, and filling. I could not eat the whole thing, which is saying something. Taco Mix also serves tacos(duh), tortas, quesadillas, churrasco, tostadas, fried plaintains, pupusas, and tamales. It’s really casual, with counter service and disposable plates and silverware. I can’t wait to go back.
