History

Established in 1964.

For over 50 years we have been designing custom homes for our clients, many in and around Davis, Weber & Salt Lake Counties in Utah. We work hard to fulfill our clients dreams of building a home by implementing their ideas and our experience and creativity to design an exclusive custom home. Design Loft’s officers have been in the building industry all of their working lives. We have often contracted and acted as project managers on numerous building projects.

We have designed many of our homes for Northern Utah, particularly Davis County. Utah’s combination of climate (heavy snow loads, high winds and temperature extremes) and topography (hillside terrain and high seismic loads) offer unique challenges. We work with expert associates in surveying and engineering to assure that these challenges are addressed and implemented into the design of each home. This level of design expertise creates plans that can be built in most areas of the United States.

Business Owner

My Dad started our business way, way back in the 1960’s. I grew up watching and learning as he met with families to design their dream homes. Time went on and I began dabbling with drafting and designing homes. In 1988 I was fortunate to join with my father and we have been able to work successfully for these past many years.

During that time we went from hand drafting to CAD, have worked in project management and adapted as the construction industry has evolved. Today’s plans require much more than those early plans did back in the 60’s, but the design process essentially remains the same. Listen to the customers wants, dreams, budgets, etc and create something unique to that family.
