The guys here are nice enough to deal with and good for simple things, reliable for a quick tow if you need one, but be cautious. They sold me a car that leaked oil in several places. In the end, I couldn’t even sell the thing, a total loss.
EDIT: Yes, the totaling of the car was on me, although I think the man who stopped short in front of me on the LIE for no apparent reason deserves some of the credit too.
And yes, you did go above and beyond to help me get the car registered and on the road very fast, which was something I and my boss appreciated at the time. That definitely deserves a mention. Your customer service is unassailable.
My problem here is with the fact that the car in question was leaking oil BEFORE the accident, and every mechanic I talked to assured me that it was not caused by the accident. I did want a cheap car, but also a reliable one. I wanted something that would last awhile. If a car is leaking oil right out the gate, it’s not reliable. I even asked you about the oil for the Subaru, as it was my negligence of the oil in the Impala that led to the blown engine.
In the end, it was the oil leaks that put it beyond repair and left me with a massive hunk of steel I couldn’t even sell.
Look, I like you guys personally, you were very nice and very professional, but how could you sell me a car that leaks oil and not tell me? It wasn’t as if you’d never seen it before. It seems to me that I would have lost that Subaru soon enough, even without the accident. So yes, that substantially brings down the whole experience.

This place rocks! I have brought all my cars here for tube ups, oil changes, brakes and carburetor and the work has been right on the money and it’s always done quickly. I have a foreign car and an 81 old school Camaro and they have all the right tools to fix them. Last night my Camaro broke down and they came within 15 minutes to tow me. Neil himself came to my rescue! He is always professional and extremely knowledge. I recommend Double N to all my friends and family

Had the timing belt replaced on one of the vehicles recently after using Double N for years. Broke down on the LIE. $ 450 in tow charges later we investigate the problem.
The amateur mechanic who replaced the timing belt — not a terribly difficult job — failed to properly torque down the crankshaft pulley. As a result, it came loose and threw off all of the drive belts. The alternator then stopped charging, killing the battery and resulting in a costly replacement. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars in repairs.
While tearing the car down, an independent mechanic noted that bolts were broken or missing entirely — the fan clutch was missing a bolt and the entire assembly was held on with a zip tie. The splash guard had been rattling for months and this was because only 2 of the 4 bolts were reinstalled and holding it on.
This is the caliber of work you expect from a backyard mechanic, not an established shop. Because they were in a rush and haphazardly threw everything back together I have spent $ 450 on a tow, ~$ 300 in parts, and more in labor amounting to just under a thousand dollars. We have been loyal customers for almost a decade but will never go back to Double N again.

I brought my car to Double N for a check engine light. Their courteous staff, from their service writer to the repair tech, explained what was wrong with my car and had my car fixed and back to me the same day. Their pricing was more than fair and I got 10% discount for being a AAA member. I will definitely be coming back to them for all my repairs and services on all of my cars. I highly recommend them!

Beware of this place! This place is what gives mechanics a bad name. Put a transmission in my car, 2 months later having problem with transmission and there is no warranty. Owner, Neil, claims we were told it is a «used» transmission and there is only a 30 day warranty. So $ 1400 later and a car with a bad transmission, we were told if we call again about it they are calling the police! What a joke! Stay away from this place or you too will be ripped off. No wonder they have a D– rating with the BBB

Terrible. Scam artists. They treat their customers poorly. Don’t diagnose or fix the vehicles properly. Had to take my truck back every week and it kept coming back with new issues. don’t waste you’re time or money. Check out BBB they rated them D minus. Worst shop ever! Very unprofessional.

I brought my truck here early in the morning to get a fuel pump put in. Was promised it would be finished the same day. Thought I got a reasonable quote. Well two days later I got my truck back and the job was way more than I was quoted. They tried to make their problem my problem with a part quote. Needless to say I don’t think they know what they are doing and I won’t be back. Yes they tried to apologize, but they should have giving us the part for what they told us it was and ate their mistake. Just so you know My husband has over 35 yrs experience in the business of auto repair. He could have done the job himself but simply did not have the time. Shame on them for trying to pull one over on a fellow mechanic.
