My favorite sandwich place in Cedar Park. it’s my favorite sandwich place, anywhere! They take extra care with gluten free orders, the food is always good, fresh and consistent. The Cedar Park location has great parking, rarely a long wait, and the sandwich artists are always happy and polite. Plus there is ample seating inside and a small area outside. Get the office favorite or the turkey bacon avocado.

Hands down the best place to go if you want a fresh, filling sub. Love their whole menu. And you must try their tomato & garlic soup. Best ever.

I’ve been coming here since I was pregnant with my son. It’s the closest TS to Liberty Hill, although I am grateful for the new Georgetown location. This location is always neat and clean. Always friendly service. Always the perfect sandwich. I only get the Austin Club. Chicken, bacon & guacamole with fresh veggies are too hard for me to pass up! Love love love!!!

Glad they opened a location in Cedar Park. We love ThunderCloud! Ordered online, everything was ready when we got there. Staff is very nice.

The service was fast, but the guy that took our order was snarky and a little abrasive and the sandwiches were just ok. The smoothie we got was pretty good, but we definitely won’t be going back. I think we’ll just stick to The Blind Squirrel.

I wish the«veggie» patties were vegan, so I’m not limited just to a veggie sub. However, the veggie sub with hummus and extra thunder sauce never disappoints though.

UNSANITARY and management doesn’t care… Ate at a tc a few weeks ago, watched a customers credit card receipt fall into the vat of guacamole the customer had to get the guys attention to give her the receipt, then used the guacamole for another customer’s sandwich. Left without ordering, called the corporate HQ to complain — they blew me off… Shoulda called the health department instead. *** DON’T EATTHERE***

My wife highly recommended over Subway, so I took the kids there yesterday. Although they’ve been in business for over 30 years, you’d never know it upon entering. The place is shabby: miscellaneous pictures on the wall; posters slapped up here and there; the counter is too high and the music too loud which made communicating with the«sandwich artist» challenging. The«extras»(sandwiches only come with lettuce, tomato and onion) are not priced-out so you have to ask. The bread was good, but you are limited to either white or wheat. Finally, the metal tables and chairs/stools are wobbly and the three of us took turns tilting the table all around. Perhaps their ingredients are better, and maybe a bit cheaper(depending on how many extras you normally like on your sub sandwich), but overall, this was a disappointment. If you don’t like Subway, try Firehouse. If you want a good Deli sand which, Jason’s Deli is probably the best available in the Austin area.

LOVE ThunderCloud Subs. I’m here at least once a week. Great service and fresh food. I always get the roast beef and avocado or the NY italian. I have trouble branching out because I love these two so much. However, today I’m going to be more typical and having a turkey on wheat. Get the spicey mayo/mustard or whatever it is! And the thunder sauce!

YUMMMM!!! I love love love Thundercloud subs and this location is no different. In fact, it is my favorite location of all the many locations I’ve been to in town. The folks are friendly and remember me when I come in, they are always quick with service too! My husband and I both love their cold cuts, I am a California Club girl while he is a NY Italian man. One thing that stands out for me is that in other locations the staff can get weird about tips… for example, I left a dollar for one small sub once in the South Austin location and they yelled out the door at me «I’m just trying to make it through school here, Jesus!». I was mortified and never went back. I thought a dollar was more then enough for his antisocial«help» and it was only one small sandwich anyway. Ugh, boo Manchaca/Slaughter location! This location, however, is always very appreciative of tips, which I always leave bc I love how kind and quick they are. They always have fun music on that I usually end up Shazaming bc I like it. :) Definitely hit this place up if you haven’t already!

I’m very sorry to say, I wasn’t that impressed with ThunderCloud Subs. The service was decent, the dining area was pretty clean, the people were friendly, but to me the subs were a bit tasteless. Now, mind you. I am always looking for something a little better than I am used to, and I can appreciate that TC has super fresh veggies and fresh bread(which I thought was a bit tasteless as well). But it seems that the amount of filling in the sub, left a lot to be desired. There just wasn’t much in the sub at all, which probably directly relates to my idea of it being bland. On my last visit, there was a strong vinegar like smell/taste on my sub. more sour than vinegar actually. Pretty nasty to say the least, and no, after that, I didn’t want a replacement. The sweet tea wasn’t sweet, so I checked the unsweet. It wasn’t sweet either, so at least it didn’t get mixed up. I just added sugar to my glass and told them. The wind was blowing like crazy and no matter where you sat, every time the door opened, you were blasted with cold air. The only thing I enjoyed was the bbq chips, so it was just a bad visit all around. ThunderCloud is typically ok, though. I personally found it to be a bit boring but if you are looking for something different than Subway or Which Wich, it may be just your thing. They are typically busy, so who knows?

When I first came to Texas, I couldn’t find a decent sandwich to save my life. A co-worker introduced me to Thunder Cloud and I was happy. Years passed and my workplace location changed. No Thunderclouds close to my new work location or home. Recently they opened a Thundercloud close to home. They still have a decent sandwich not great but decent. The veggies are always fresh. The service is always quick. Their prices are ridiculously cheap. Seriously a large roast beef sub for $ 4.99. I also have to give them kudos for how crispy they can get your bacon. The main issue I have with them is their hands. Yes, the same hands that make my sandwich also handles the money and cash register. It’s not that hard to fix, buy them gloves or assign one person to handle the money while the rest of you prep the food.

Pretty good subs, better than Quiznos or Subway fo sho. Their bread just doesn’t compare to Jimmy John’s. Ingredients were fresh, potato salad yummy. I would like to come back and try the egg salad, and I saw someone posted on another location their Thunder Sauce was really good(on their Italian?) and I would also like to try that. Will update when I go back!

I’ve been a Thundercloud addict since college, and the food quality is great at this location. My real problem with this location is the service. You expect when you go to Thundercloud that you will probably get someone who is grungy, slightly indifferent and all around weird. I get that. But every time I go to this location, the employees are slightly rude. And they turn the music on so freaking loud that I have to repeat my order about three times. As amusing and fun as that is, it sort of cuts into the desire to want to frequent this location. I have sadly found myself going to Subway more just to avoid the awkward, rude exchanges.

Now, here is a place that Austin can proudly call it’s own. What keeps me coming back to ThunderCloud is that it’s not a national sandwich shop chain. I get tired of the same old thing, the place that everyone goes to. I crave a little spice in my routine! ThunderCloud is not your run-of-the-mill Subway, it doesn’t pop out sandwiches like a factory. ThunderCloud is not your momma, because, darling, your momma just doesn’t make ham and cheese like ThunderCloud does. ThunderCloud is a bonafide original. I love that the employees aren’t incredibly fake with their routine, and I greatly enjoy the laid back atmosphere. But, more then anything, I’m a sucker for their Elvis shake. It’s seriously unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. Don’t even think about leaving without giving it a try, you’ll regret in the end, I’m sure. So for a good, Austin-original experience, ThunderCloud is your new haven.

This place is consistently good, whoever wrote that it was odd that middle age people ate here is for sure not a Texan or not from the Austin area, obviously they dont know Keeping Austin Weird is from the old hippies from the 60’s and 70’s. I was at UT in the 70’s and ate plenty of TCS and Schlotzkys(another Austin original)…

Sandwich litmus test: Another sub shop is way closer to my house and hubby and I usually have this conversation: «Thought I might go to XXXX and get a sandwich. You want one?» «Meh. I guess.» This weekend, out running errands, I realized we’d be close to this Thundercloud and said: «Ooooo, we can go to Thundercloud!» Practically wagging my tail. «Oh yeah, great idea!» Is it the tasty coldcuts, the slivered red onions, the«thunder sauce», the fresh avocado, or the smelly sandwich«artists» that make it so Austin special? I got no explanation, but I do have the sandwich litmus test.

It’s the newest ThunderCloud Subs location. It’s far away from most people, but not that far from Avery Ranch. It’s located in the suburb of Cedar Park, so a lot of residents will come here. Tonight I saw they are all mid-aged customers except me and my son. Strange. Hope people who is above 40 years old, don’t feel offended. I ordered hot Philly beef for my mom since she doesn’t eat any cold sandwich. I had two sandwiches, Roast beef & Avocado and Austin club. Both of them have avocado in it. So I like both of them. The price is a little bit higher than Subway, but the quality is better. They also have veggie sandwich called Nada Chicken. I’m going to try that at their Arboretum location next time.
