Sun City Appliance Service

Our dryer stopped heating so I left a message with Sun City and received a callback within an hour. I scheduled an appointment for the next day and Guy arrived right when he said he would and called when he was on his way. Guy diagnosed the problem quickly and installed a new part, and our dryer was up and heating like a champ. We did a load of laundry later that evening, and the dryer worked like a dream. We will definitely call on Guy again if the need arises!

Guy AWESOME! He is keenly aware that if his costs to you approach a critical % of the price of your appliance, you will not use his service. Therefore he keeps his prices low. Additionally, Guy is very clever about how he uses his time. In our case, he was in-​out of our house in about 15 min. on the first visit and didn’t charge us (parts were needed).
A few minutes after talking to Guy on the phone and describing our squeaking problem in our LG washing machine, our machine kinda exploded (it threw it’s washing disk in the midst of a spin cycle — really sounded like an explosion). This was on a Friday.
Guy came in, looked at our washing machine (and loose parts) and told us straight away what parts were required to fix it. Then he left without charging us. He went on his way and ordered the parts. (He also presented our case for extra-​warranty service because it appeared the machine had been sabotaged during manufacture.)
He came back as soon as he had the parts (Tuesday) and spent 15 minutes fixing it and about 20 minutes testing it.

Guy is an honest man. He came to my house to look at my dishwasher — no charge. The panel that turned the unit on was broken. I was glad to hear he could replace the panel. Guy returned at the end of the week, arriving on time and repaired the dishwasher in 30 minutes.
I will contact Guy again for any future appliance repairs.

Guy knocked this one out of the park! I woke up this morning to a freezer full of melting food. Disaster in the making! I found Sun City on Unilocal and left a message for Guy at 8:15 am, figuring I’d have to wait at least until he opened for business at 9 am and went through his messages.
Nope. He called me back at 8:30 am, half an hour before his opening time. He diagnosed the problem on the phone in 2 minutes, and took the model number of my refrigerator so he could pick up the part. By sheer good luck, another customer had cancelled and he could come out and fix my refrigerator later the same day. He showed up exactly when he said he would (calling when he was on the way), and made the fix in less than 15 minutes.
Thankfully it was just a faulty temperature sensor, which was about a $ 170 repair all told (much less than the $ 1200 for a new comparable fridge). Before fixing it, he showed me how if you tapped on the panel that holds the temperature dials inside the fridge, you could make the compressor turn on and off. Turns out this same faulty sensor had led to the refrigerator side freezing up a couple of times in the previous few months too.
I’m completely satisfied with my service, and would recommend Guy without hesitation.

Guy did a great job! He communicated well and came to my home when he said he would. He asked me the model number for my broken dryer while he had me on the phone and asked me what my dryer was doing. He told me what he thought the problem was and brought the parts the next day when he came for the repair. He showed me what was causing the problem before he did the repair. Very courteous and professional!!!

I found Guy through my neighborhood Facebook page. I had an issue with my fridge. Originally, I called him in November. He diagnosed stuff, let me know how much everything was, I decided to wait. Then I decided not to buy a new fridge and called him back to fix my ice dispenser. He ordered the part, came out, fixed it, arrived on time, gave me a fair deal. He rocks! Guy diagnosed the problem with my front loading washer over the phone, gave me a detailed explanation, told me how much it would cost to repair and why it happened. He told me it would be more economical to buy a new washing machine. He could have come out a charged me a service call but he didn’t!
His honesty and knowledge just earned him my personal business and my company’s business! And I will tell everyone else I know as well! A rare find these days!

Sun City is great! Guy came out to fix my LG washing machine, as it wasn’t draining. He was polite, courteous, and friendly. He showed me exactly what was wrong and why. It was nice to see for myself as opposed to just taking someone’s word for it. Also gave me some good advice regarding my machine.

He did an awesome job and only charged me once despite having to come out a couple times for the same issue (bad replacement part from factory, my initial misdiagnosis).

I found Guy on Unilocal and was impressed with his ratings and reviews. I’m so glad I did. My fridge has had a leak for almost a year now. We had someone come out and quote us an outrageous amount to repair it. So we just decided to deal with it while we decide to either repair it or buy another fridge.
I called Guy over the holidays and he was on vacation, he called me his first day back from vacation and came the next day. He was on time and came right in, diagnosed the problem and it was fixed within the hour. I haven’t had a problem since.
I had asked so many folks and neighbors for a recommendation and no one had one, well now I’m referring Guy to everyone I knowr. My daughter just built a new house in Hutto and he will definitely be on their list.

Guy was here exactly on time when he said he would be and knew what the problem was going to be before he even opened our dryer. Was in and out in about 45 minutes. Great experience, will call him for all my appliance needs … hopefully I don’t have to call him very much.

Great service! Got back to me right away, ordered two parts based on my description of oven problem and said he’d just return the other one… worked out well, because he was able to replace part upon visit. Super easy to set up service time and offered some helpful advice in case I had any future problems with my oven — would definitely recommend!

Used Guy solely based on Unilocal reviews… thanks so much Unilocal friends. Refrigerator stopped cooling. Guy was able to diagnose my problem over the phone, give me a practical solution to hold me over until he could get there, called BACK that night to make sure the holdover worked, came promptly at the agreed upon time, fixed me in 20 minutes with parts from his can despite being told by his parts store the part was available «only at the factory for the price of a small island and my daughter’s virginity», and charged me a very reasonable rate.
Guy is now «my guy». I’m very very happy.

Our washer died. It stopped spinning. I checked for prices on a new washing machine, and they were around $ 600-​$ 700 for anything decent. I figured our old one was probably worth repairing if it was under $ 300.
I made two calls — one to James Beardsley Appliance Repair, and one to Sun City. Beardsley called me back first. He said that it was the clutch, which is at least a $ 400 job, and that he recommended just replacing the machine as the job was so complicated that he typically took those machines home to do them instead of trying to do them in the customer’s home. Because Mr Beardsley has excellent reviews, I resigned to buying a new washing machine, and was just about to click the last click when Sun City called me back.
He told me that, yes, it was probably the clutch, but $ 400 was way too much. He quoted me $ 180. So I scheduled to have him come out the next day.
Not only was he able to get the machine up and happily running for $ 180, but it took him all of 45 minutes to do so, even though he had to deal with my tiny, cramped apartment kitchen in which to do the job. He was pleasant, fun to talk to, got along well with my dog, and even replaced other, smaller parts in the washing machine at no additional charge. And, yes, it was the clutch that was the culprit. He also gave me instructions on how to clean the washing machine, and gave me advice on fixing the issue we have with the dryer (it takes multiple cycles to dry, he suggested having the apt complex clean the ducts). Once he was done, he seemed genuinely proud of how well the washing machine was now working, especially considering its age.
I can’t recommend Sun City enough. He takes pride in his work, he’s super honest and straightforward, and he’s more than fair with his pricing.

These high reviews for Guy at Sun City Appliance Service are no joke. I called him on Friday after my drier died. He asked me to send him a picture of the model and serial number from the drier. He called me later that day to talk about how much the motor would be and anything else he thought could go wrong. He said he could be at the house noon Monday, if I decided to fix the drier instead of replace it. It was about half the cost to fix than replace, so I made the appointment.
My wife texted me before 1pm Monday to say Guy was done.
I usually call Sears for appliance repair, since I buy most of my appliances from Sears. They take forever to get an appointment and rarely show up on time. This was a very pleasant change of experience.
