Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids

Didn’t listen to how we wanted my son’s hair cut. Now he basically has his first buzz cut. So frustrating! Even worse, the stylist was rude to my son and got upset when he didn’t immediately put his head in the position she wanted.

It was the first time we went. Pamela was awesome and they were very quick without hesitation. We plan on going back!

when you say keep the curls on top just trim and they say ok and proceed to cut them all off too short for curls too long to lay flat with clippers so no fixing it after the first swipe. didnt want to make a scene infront of the other kids and parents but my kid looks like he got a haircut with a weed whacker! wasted $ 20 will go to pigtails and crew cuts from now on!

This was my first time here with both my children my toddlers first hair cut she is 3. Ms. Amy had a bit of a snippy impatient attitude but she did a good job on my daughters hair. Now my 12 year old son who’s hair was done by somebody else his hair was butchered completely. I liked it at first until i went home and brushed his hair and well you will see the results in the pics your self. Never ever again will i go Here. In fact i don’t think I have ever seen such a bad haircut. They should refund me back my money. For 25 $ a haircut you can go somewhere way better.
UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner Jenna right after my initial post and she was super sweet and very understanding. She apologized several times and gave me a refund for my sons haircut and offered to fix it. My son refused to go back there but maybe someday soon in the future he will have it redone. But if we do return it will definately be cut by somebody else.

So impressed with this place. We took our 3 year old here and Amy was so patient and gentle with her and gave her such a stylish little stacked bob cut. I was really pleased with how kid friendly it was, the quality of haircut and the nice touches like polishing nails, movies, and the little barrettes for such a reasonable price. My older daughter was so envious of the little one’s haircut, she begged to come back and see Amy to chop off her hair the next day. We will definitely be coming back here again!

We love Sharkey’s, particularly Vihn. Never have I met anyone better adept at cutting a child’s hair. She fundamentally understands how a child’s hair grows and what it needs to be healthy and look it’s best. We’ve tried other kid specific salons in the area and none compare. You can make an appointment which helps you get in and out, rather than some salons that make you come in and wait an hour plus without guarantee of getting your favorite stylist. The greatest thing is Vihn listens and really attempts to allow both parent and child to leave happy. It makes you feel great going in because I don’t have to worry whether the hair cut is going to be a hit or miss. Whether your kid is a wiggly worm or a seasoned haircut pro the experts here will get the job done. Highly recommend!

Been taking our son here for a couple years and very happy with the work they do. We always go to Miss Pamela. She’s the best!

We took our 3 year old to get her first haircut this week. We specifically asked for someone who could cut natural curly hair and Pam was the recommended stylist. Pam was great! She made our daughter feel very comfortable. She took her time and was very patient and thorough. She made conversation with my husband and I. She also showed us different ways to style her hair. We will definitely be returning. Before leaving we met the owner and every staff member was very friendly. It’s an adorable setup for kids to watch their favorite cartoon and get their haircut in a cool car!

We absolutely love Sharkeys! My son’s haircut is always perfect after we leave. Never had a bad haircut or experience. They give lollipops and balloons at the end. I would highly recommend this place.

We absolutely love Sharkey’s! My 2 year old (who’s impossible) loves going to see Miss Pamela! Everyone there is fabulous with the little ones… super patient and caring. They care what mom wants and they care how the child is doing throughout the process. I recommend Sharkey’s to friends all the time!

We had Gina cut my little ones hair and she was amazing. He didn’t enjoy the process, but she did her absolute best to keep him calm and laughing. His cut is so adorable and was quick which is great for his age. We will definitely be back for Gina!

Sharkey’s is fantastic! We took our son for his first haircut and had a wonderful experience. I was nervous because I wanted to keep my son’s hair on the longer side and just trim it up so that we didn’t lose his baby curls. The stylist, Vinh, understood exactly what I wanted and did just that! Everyone there was super friendly and the place is adorable. We’ll be back!

We have been meaning to try this place out for a while and we are so glad we did! We took our 11 yr old son here and he loved playing the video games while getting his hair cut. Our stylist, Pamela, was great. We really enjoyed our visit and we can’t wait to be back!

Destroyed my sons hair! I took him for his first hair cut and the woman absolutely hacked at my sons hair with a pair of clippers. It looks awful, I am devastated. I had to take him to my husbands barber to help fix it and they couldn’t believe what this woman dos to my sons hair. I don’t even think she was a hair dresser. Do not take your children here!!!

I’ve bringing my daughter for almost 5 years. She gets to pick a movie to watch on her own personal TV, and she can pick between a «fun» chair or a grown-​up one. In addition to wash, cut & blow-​dry, she gets her nails polished, a bling ring, a balloon and a lollipop! (All for $ 22.95). Vin does an excellent job, I highly recommend her. Recent change in ownership, support local small businesses!

Love it here! Games, videos, karaōke to keep my kid busy if there’s a wait which only lasted 5 mins! She got her hair shampooed, cut and nails done too. So pampered I wanted to get my hair done!

Me and my son have been regularly going here since he was 6 months old, now he’s 2.5 and needed a hair cut today because, let’s face it. This heat is absolutely brutal. **Edit: let me also note that it takes like literally 2 – 5 mins to cut his ALREADY short hair**
We went in at 4:31 pm on the dot and were told by some old lady these exact words «I’m sorry but we’re not taking anymore walk-​ins today, I have another person waiting and I only have 2 people cutting hair today sooo by the time we get to your child, it will be WELL past 5 o’clock. And we close at 5.» SO RUDE! I didn’t say a word, called Pigtails & Crew Cuts off of 1431 and the nice woman informed me that as long as we make it in the door before 5pm (4:45 at this point, got there at 4:54 exactly and were seen in less than 2 mins) that they will accommodate us. Thank goodness, even got a $ 2 off coupon for being a new customer. Jamie from P&C, you are awesome. Sharkey’s cuts for kids… Is not. She even had bubbles on hand for my toddler and it was CLEAN in there with a comfortable waiting area. Not to mention that I didn’t have to «Touch up» when we got home because it is SO badly lit inside Sharkey’s.
Congrats on losing business because your desk lady was very unprofessional. Had I seen a woman with her toddler in this heat I would’ve sucked it up and handled business to make sure they’re a satisfied customer instead of being so damn selfish.
Who’s the idiot that didn’t schedule enough stylists on BACK TO SCHOOL weekend? Not me.

I think it’s a great place for kids cuts! I took my 2 year old and the stylist was fabulous. Very patient, gentle with kiddos and kind. She heard us patiently, kept the child well engaged And smiling plus gave a very nice cut. She wasn’t mad about some change we wanted to make with the style in the end.
Love it and will absolutely keep this as my baby’s haircut and perhaps party place down the line
I take one star away for more cleanliness.. It could be cleaner. No one swept the chair and floor immediately after the cut since they were all busy. Something that can be improved. And they didn’t have any water bottles to give which I would have appreciated on a hot summer day

We’ve always had a great experience with any stylist. They are patient and accomodating.
The cuts are as good as you can get and kids like it.

Oh my goodness, this place is awesome! I’m actually kind of jealous that this place is just for kids. Here’s why:
1. You pick where you want to sit, be it a pink jeep, a police car, or an airplane to name a few. This is great to get the kiddos excited about going to get a haircut.
2. Each seat has its own TV, which you then get to pick any DVD (including Frozen) that you want to watch while you are getting your ‘do done. In the big kid section, they also have video games that they can play during their cuts.
3. Your cut comes with a shampoo, blow out, barrette, ring, and a manicure all for $ 20.95! Yes, a manicure! This goes for girls. I’m not sure what the boys get.
4. They have a frequent customer punch card. I love places that appreciate repeat business. This particular card is buy 9 get the 10^th cut free! Yay!
5. There’s a Unilocal check in offer! 10% off services Monday-​Friday 10−3pm!
6. My kid got a nice haircut to boot from a very nice stylist. Her stylist, Pamela, was very sweet and kind. She worked hard to make sure my daughter was comfortable and happy. I totally think the $ 20 price tag is worth it because of the experience and the nice haircut.
If you have a kiddo, you need to come check this place out for their next haircut. I know my daughter is hooked and we will be back many more times!
