I am going to start with the positive before the negative… Dr. Monteiro did my c-​section & did a wonderful job. My experience in delivery was awesome & I felt we were in good hands. Now for the negative, I have infertility issues & wanted another child after my delivery. Dr. M certainly acted like I was a lost cause & did not want to really help me & at this point, became kind of distant. I was also told by him that I would never get pregnant on my own & was wasting my time with trying «naturally». What happened? I got pregnant on my own. I feel like docs should not make assumptions like this, as they are not a higher power & do not ultimately know.

I am not the easiest person to please, but I do expect consistency in doctor care. I am the pregnant lady here, not the other way around. The doctor is supposed to maintain a certain level of emotional distance. I like it that way. I don’t like it when the doctor gets b*tchy and complains when my placenta starts bleeding and it cuts into his fabulous trip to Dallas. That was a bit uncalled for. I mean, to hell with ME for not containing myself in the ER when I was experiencing a level 10 pain in my lower back because my placenta was hemorrhaging, right?
Initially I asked for strictly a WOMAN ob gyn doctor. Everyone insisted I see this doctor. Um, he is a man, although feminine, but not exactly a woman. Now I gotta switch doctors in my last trimester because this one turned out to be a hormonal FLAKE and I cannot trust that he is going to take good care of me when the baby comes.

He delivered two of my babies. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Monteiro is fantastic! When I moved to Austin, I left behind a wonderful OB and I didn’t think anyone would be able to measure up to him. Well, I’m happy to say that Dr. Monteiro is different than him, but equally as wonderful.
A friend of a friend recommended him to me and she’s a nurse. So, right there, I knew that he must be good. In each of my appointments, he has been incredibly kind and from the get go I felt instantly comfortable with him. I don’t feel embarrassed when asking the silliest questions. And it’s been great after my delivery also. Plus, his nurse Kita is awesome too!

Dr, Monteiro has the best bed side manner. I felt like a superstar when making appointments and pre & post operation. All the staff is great! Really a great experience. Great job on technique and informed my family well while I was in recovery. Will never go anywhere else!
