The Cedar Park Emergency Center (CPEC) is a locally owned, FULL service ER that is open 24⁄7. We offer zero waiting times and extremely fast diagnostics with onsite lab and imaging (CT, Xray, Ultrasound). This allows us to RESPECT our patients time by not forcing them to wait for care or results. We have upscale private treatment rooms. We are kid friendly and comfortable with treating all minor and major medical problems (anything from sore throats & rashes to gunshot wounds & heart attacks). We offer the most highly advanced heart diagnostics of any ER in greater Austin. We are the only ER in greater Austin that is certified as a concussion specialty center. Our staff is comprised of board certified physicians that have many years of experience in some of the busiest trauma centers in Texas. History

Established in 2014.

After working in hospital based ERs for many years a bunch of healthcare workers came together and built the Cedar Park Emergency Center (C*P*E*C). The facility is locally owned and operated by these same healthcare workers who live in the Cedar Park, Round Rock and Leander communities. C*P*E*C offers extremely high Quality treatment with no waiting times. Since all C*P*E*C staff are members of this community we are highly accountable for the Care and the Cost of the services that we provide. I had the most amazing experience here!
I came in with chest pains after having some previous issues. Dr. Salyer is by far the best doctor I’ve ever seen! They took a lot of time with me and made sure to cover absolutely everything. Their RN Sarah, Xray tech Ryan, ER tech Steve, and the lady at the front desk Sandra. Everyone was super genuine and caring. They referred me to the best specialists for my condition and have been consistently following up with me. An experience like this means a lot to me since I am deathly afraid of any kind of doctor. Thank you so much! And thank you for being just around the corner from where I live! :D

I ended up here after a urgent care visit. They were go great! I was in immediately. Doctor Patel was fantastic. Explained everything that was going on. Nurse ran my IV without making me want to cry. Other nurse explained everything that was going on during my CT scan. Discharge was fast. I would come here again. Just a wonderful job!

I took my wife to their facility when she was bitten by a scorpion. Its very conveniently located on 1431. It’s a single level facility so very convenient to find the front desk. The receptionist immediately arranged for a nurse to get her in. The doctors were very nice and promptly treated her. Overall we feel we made the right choice to visit them instead of a big hospital.

Go to a real emergency room this one will perform unnecessary tests and scare you into taking them and wait till you see the bill. I got screwed all because of constipation. Doc said I needed to sign a wavier of i wanted to leave without the expensive CT scan even though the pain was gone and I told him it cost too much told me people die all the time with same symptoms which is a lie my brother is and ER nurse. CROOKS! Go to emergency room at real hospital with good doctors not money hungry criminals.

We had to go to CPEC with my daughter one evening. The doctor saw her immediately and was very nice and efficient. He ran some tests and quickly diagnosed and resolved the problem. The rest of the staff is very professional as well.
Though my insurance was causing me problems, CPEC Business Manager helped with the situation. For after-​hours emergency service, they are very affordable with insurance or self pay.
We will definitely use them again if the need arises.

BEWARE!!! They do see you in a quick and efficient manner with smiles on their face– but then the bills come and you will not be smiling — you will feel violated and abused! They file all Emergency Medical codes if you have insurance– if you have a high deductible– you can go ahead and bet they will try and get that plus some– the deductible is out of my pocket! Bills that arrive are in multiples and extremely expensive — you are better off not using your insurance… they call a sore throat a medical emergency when on the Unilocal app they advertise urgent care. There is a difference in emergencies and urgent care and they do not get your «informed consent» before procedures — they expect you to read the fine black print when you initially sign the forms. I am reviewing because this should be claimed as medical fraud. Read the reviews of previous situations from others– unfortunately the reviews were not posted before I took a child in for a sore throat. We were charged medical emergency fees and given advice to pick up an herbal supplement at any supermarket… where in the medical field is fair and ethical to charge medical emergency fees for a virus– caused sore throat. When you are in such a big area/​transient you can count on «one-​time» visits. This place is morally and ethically unjust.

Took our son to the ER yesterday and the staff was so helpful and attentive. They took the time and care we needed, they also didn’t try to overdo it just to justify our visit. Hopefully we don’t have to go back, but they’d be our first stop for any emergency.

I can say that the service was quick and they accepted my insurance. However, I have yet to resolve a $ 3,126.00 bill for a strep throat/​flu diagnosis back on January 19th. The facility charge alone was $ 2,425.00. I can’t believe my insurance covered $ 2,495.01 and they are still billing me for $ 630.99. This saga has lasted for five months now, and each time it’s supposedly resolved… I GET ANOTHER BILL. My advise would be to go to another facility. My son had a major concussion last year and our bill from the Cedar Park Hospital Emergency Room was far less that what CPEC charged me.

My mother in law (who is from out-​of-​state) brought me here during a health scare and the facility and staff were wonderful. I came in contact with a receptionist, two nurses, an ultrasound technician and a doctor and they were all very kind, caring, and professional. The doc was very informative and knowledgable. My mother-​in-​law is typically a bit skeptical about doctors, but she absolutely loved this doc we saw, Dr. Higgins, and continued to rave about him in the car ride home! She is now a big believer in our Texas medical care, thanks to this place. This is a standalone facility, kind of like an urgent care, but equipped like a hospital ER. You can get an ultrasound and other imaging here, which can be life-​saving in an emergency. Oh, and there was literally no wait time. I hadn’t even sat down and filled out my paperwork before they were calling me back, taking my vitals, and a few minutes later the doctor popped right in. Definitely recommend, for all your urgent medical needs.

Wow, love this place! Been here several times over the course of a year! Just visited again when my son received a head injury playing sports and this place was recommended to me by a trainer because they are a concession center. Love not having to wait when it’s a serious injury, much better choice than going to the hospital ER. Dr. Higgins was very thorough and reviewed CT scan results, then we went back for follow-​up concussion testing with him. Dr. Higgins had great beside manner and helped my son relax. Received a follow-​up phone call and detailed care instructions. Thanks to all the staff for being treated quickly and responding to our every need.

Unfortunately my experience with CPEC was significantly less favorable. Front Desk staff lacked personality and engagement. But the reason I am taking time to share this review is the absolute unbelievable example Dr. Higgins used to explain to my 14 yr old how to use his Inhaler/​Chamber. «Inhale like you are taking a hit» Really Dr. Higgins — what would insinuate that my 14 yr. old has experience or knowledge of taking a hit. With a MD and 18 yrs of practice, is this the only example you can draw on — the inappropriate use of drugs to a 14 yr old. Shame on you Dr. Higgins. In my attempt to provide feedback in a more official way, I learned that Dr. Higgins is actually the OWNER. Needless to say, we will not be returning to CPEC and I hope this review will serve as an opportunity to «check yourself».

I think I was the only one here not staff at 3 am on a Friday morning. I had probably the worst sinus infection I remember having and do feel a little silly for going to the ER, but they got me hooked up with the right medication and I was feeling better again by the following Monday. They even called to checkup afterwards do make sure I was feeling better.

I went there on a Sunday morning with a huge kidney pain — the staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. The doctor was ready for me even before I could finish the paperwork! They know that when you go there — you are in an emergency and they acted accordingly. They have a CatScan there and all lab tests on the spot — and they gave me everything (vs regular hospitals where you don’t give you your results). I have a CD with my CatScan, a paper that states the analysis of the CatScan, the prescriptions the doctor gave me, what is each prescription for and everything I needed for a follow up with my doctor. Amazing facilities and amazing people there!

My daughter hyperextended her knee in a trampoline accident, and we weren’t sure if she had ligament damage or a fracture, so I took her to CPEC. The staff was very kind and friendly, the doctor was very reassuring to her and explained everything plainly and clearly to me, they sent us with detailed care instructions and a teddy bear for the kiddo. Would definitely feel very confident returning for any future emergency.

Dr. Rena Salyer and her staff were outstanding. My husband has Type 1 Diabetes (and has had for 30 years) but because he does not have a good endocrinologist in Austin, he was having some problems regulating his blood sugar. It was dangerously high so we went to CPEC last night around 12:30am. It didn’t seem too busy, but it did take several minutes to get to the back. Once we did, the care we received was amazing. Dr. Salyer is one that just «gets it»; great bed side manner, very open minded, very thorough, not condescending (quite the opposite, actually), and generally just really good. They took excellent care of him, ran appropriate but not excessive tests and made great recommendations. Dr. Salyer even gave me a more comfortable chair (by this time it was after 2 am), some waters and the nurse gave me a blanket. we even got good TV recommendations! :) All in all, they were very professional, very thorough and the care was really great This is the second time we have been there, and the first time it was good but this time was outstanding! Highly recommend.

My wife was seen yesterday following a traffic incident, we just relocated to Texas and I didn’t know where else to go, We had passed Cedar Park Emergency Center a few times while trying to familiarize ourselves with the area and we decided to go there. My wife got in right away, was taken care of wonderfully. The staff was Awesome and thorough and so was Dr. Daniel

Took my 13-​year-​old son there chest pain. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was already stressed out fearing it could be a broken rib.
One of the staff opened the door for me and greeted me. (Later on I found out he’s the radiologist.) I explained to the front desk lady the reason of visit. Her demeanor was so calm and polite which reduce my stress by 40%.
The radiologist technician took my son in immediately. He wasn’t just professional with the high standard of bedside manner. It was the way he talked and treated us — although he did not say ‘Don’t worry, we’ll take a good care of your son’ but his demeanor sure delivered that message loud and clear.
I would definitely choose this center over any other urgent cares.
My deepest gratitude to all CPEC staff — especially the radiologist. Your center has my highest recommendation!

My 3 year old daughter had a jellybean stuck up her nose. She was quite nervous. The staff was excellent and put her at ease. The jellybean was removed successfully and quickly. She left with a teddy bear and stickers. I would highly recommend Dr. Greenwood and all of the other staff.
