I have an appointment every two weeks for solar nails with the owner and he does a wonderful job. He is the best person I have found for solar nails in the Austin area. His wife is also available to do solar nails as well. Everyone is always friendly and the prices are very fair. They have a large selection of colors both for solar nails and gel nails. They have several drink options both alcoholic and non. I would highly recommend them to anyone asking.

Clean and simple environment. Wide selection of polish and shellac to choose from. I went in after lunch and was able to start my manicure right away. I enjoy the quiet, not a chatty person and my nail tech respected that. I am only disappointed in the shaping of my nails. I just had perfect ovals left over from a previous manicure and they were still in good shape. He asked if I wanted a cut down and I said no. Then he filed them. I was assuming he was just doing a quick sweep to ready the nail for the gel but he squared them off unevenly. Good massage, happy with gel application, just not the shape. Unnecessary and dated. :/

Been here every other week for about 2 months now. They do an awesome Shellac manicure! Only once did it chip sooner than the supposed 2 week lifespan, and it wasn’t even that bad. The place is clean, and the tools are all sterilized. Highly recommended!

Overall I did enjoy my experience. I am curious how a $ 35 manicure & $ 45 pedicure add up to $ 85, before tip. I got no decoration on my nails so … They took 3 hrs to do both services because they told me my wait time, I used the ladies room & they took 6 middle school girls ahead of me. «Only a polish change, real quick». Lol nothing with that many middle school girls is quick. Numerous color changes later & then decisions to add pedicures…
So not the best service ever. In a last minute pinch, they are ok but I wouldn’t return there.

My first experience here was just today and was fantastic! Surpassed my expectations and while there was nothing wrong with where I used to go for nails, I will definitely be coming here from now on! Fantastic service and very reasonable pricing, I highly recommend them!

Austin Nails & Spa is by far the best nail salon in North Austin. The staff is attentive and friendly. They do a great manicure and pedicure and offer a complimentary drink with salon services. It’s a small thing but very much appreciated. I’ve only had to wait once for a chair and even then it wasn’t very long. These people are efficient too! Everything is well maintained and the prices are very competitive. This is my go-​to salon and if they’re closed I’d much rather wait than go somewhere else

Only been a few times but the quality was outstanding! I simply showed a picture of a specific style of acrylics I had seen online and wanted and they got it to perfection! I have continuously referred them to clients of mine. In addition to doing my nails the way I like, I had budgeted the manicure and the price was WAY below my budget, even including tip. Wonderful quick salon.

I have been using this nail salon for at least a year now, probably closer to 2 years actually. My best friend and I try to come together whenever we can, and even on our own we are always treated very well. They do a great PEDI!!! Lasts for two weeks easy! I’m a nail biters, so my manis or acrylics never really last me no matter how good they are, but they always do a great job. Plus they have TV’s right behind the stations for hands and they usually have something good on. I enjoy this place and recommend it! :)

Love this place, nice girls, good price! Plus complimentary alcohol and how could you go wrong there. Went here for a spur of the moment mani pedi and now it’s my spot now that I live in Austin. Thanks ladies!

There are much better place to get your nails done. Pro they offer free cheap booze, Cons only a very few do gel nails. The last 2 times I got a rushed pedicure and sat for an hour waiting for someone to take the foil/​acetone off my nails and to do my gel manicure. I know what you’re thinking maybe they were busy… No they are not efficient. Save your time and go else where!

By far one if the best solar nail application and best pedicure I have ever had!!! My hands and feet are flawless!!! Couldn’t recommend a better place!
If you are looking for a relaxing semi spa this is the place it was relaxing and I’m pretty sure I dozed off a couple of times due to being so relaxed they did an amazing job!

Terrific Nail Salon owned by a charming couple, Huy and Katie. You will always find them greeting you at the door while working on nails. The staff always does a fabulous job. I go in for the deluxe spa pedicure and Gel manicure. I get compliments on my nails all the time. It’s a great place to go pamper yourself and relax. They do have complimentary beverages. I take my 10 year old daughter every once in a while too. It’s very affordable as well, no hidden costs.

I came here a couple of days ago and got a full set of the solar nails with glitter/​color tips and they look fabulous!!! He did a great job, was fairly quick and I even got to drink a mimosa while getting my nails done. Will definitely be back!

I was very pleased with my visit here. The salon was very clean, they saw us fast and had reasonable prices. I had the deluxe pedi and it was well worth the 35.00. The gel manicure was neatly done and is lasting.

I have been here a couple of times, usually when dropping my kiddo off at my parents since it is closer to them. The staff is very sweet and not overly chatty so it’s much easier to relax. They also skipped a massive TV in the pedi area and pipe in relaxing music, offer a complementary drink (they even have wine, ritas, and bubbly to boot!), and the prices are very reasonable.
On my last visit (this weekend) I just got the deluxe which is listed for 25. The massage was so incredible I tipped 10. I didn’t have to wait… I appreciate that I didn’t have to wait, I’m just not sure why this place doesn’t get more business. As I mentioned, the staff is nice and accommodating, the chairs are great, the equipment and tools are clean, they use quality polishes, and the price is right.

Decent place, they have nice massage chairs and good choice for drinks when you get their spa pedicure. Overall service was good but they do not honor the Unilocal check in offers. Hence three stars is as far as I go. Also Groupon now deal prices beat them hands down.

I went here with a Groupon so I called and scheduled in advance. When I got there, they greeted me promptly and got me seated in about 5 minutes. I know people talked about the champagne and chocolates, but I guess that doesn’t come with the Groupon. I don’t blame them and I can’t drink anyways. I was surprised that they never turned on the massage chair. I probably should have asked but was a bit afraid of rejection and I didn’t see anyone else’s chair moving.
My mani/​pedi were very basic. They didn’t try to get me to buy anything extra, which I appreciate. I know they advertise that they have a ton of colors, but I didn’t think they had a great selection… not bad, just not great.
I also got my eyebrows waxed while I was there. The girl was very nice and they looked pretty good, but I was surprised that she didn’t pluck anything to shape them better. They still looked pretty good in the end.
At checkout, I tried paying with Amex, which the girl quickly told me that they don’t take. I always wonder how true that is. Do they really not accept it, or do they not want to because Amex charges a slightly higher rate than some of the other cards?

If you are looking for a place to get pampered, you came to the right place! I was very happy with the ladies who did my nails here. I received solar nails that took a bit of time to apply but the results were worth it. Not only did they last a week to the event I went to, but also 4 WEEKS after that, surviving my VERY hands on job.
I also used to get my brows waxed here on a more regular basis. Ling always got me in and out with little to no pain and great looking brows.

Ask for the total up front!
My friend and I went here after shopping for a dress for her to wear to a wedding. This place advertises all over craigslist that the mani/​pedi combo is $ 35 so that was what I was expecting. The lady even asked me if I wanted the deluxe and I declined. Just the basics, which is what I received. It was 7pm when we walked in and there were three ladies that were getting mani/​pedis also, so they fired up the foot spa and had us wait. The other ladies all had champagne, something we were not offered. When they left the workers swarmed us and got busy. They yelled to the guy working the cah register it was $ 35 each for those 3.
After we were done and went to check out we were told $ 40 each. I asked why. She stammered that she did something different to my cuticles and it was $ 5 extra. BULLSHIT! I had a basic mani/​pedi that any nail place is capable of giving. I paid it and let them know I would never be back. They didn’t seem to care.
There are way too many nail places out there that do the same job for $ 35. Don’t bother with this one.

This new nail salon has been open about 2 months in the space formerly occupied by PakMail. On the weekday evening that I dropped in for respite from the Christmas shopping frenzy, there were 3 lady nail techs and the male owner (who doesn’t do nails) on site, two manicures in progress at the 6 mani stations, and 10 empty massaging pedicure chairs.
The owner, Tony, was a very friendly salesman and clearly wants all of his customers to feel pampered. He insisted that I have a champagne cocktail (I got the feeling I could have had 3 or 4) and went into a lengthy spiel about how he did all of the tile-​work and other finish work himself. He said that he wants to host parties at the salon (ether for early brunch or after hours) and serve cheesecake and drinks for groups of ladies or girls who want a pamper party.
My deluxe mani/​pedi by Nancy was great. She did get all of the crusty, snaggy cuticles and dry skin off and buffed my nails by hand to a tasteful sheen. I especially liked that she sprayed my cuticles with disinfectant at the end as an extra precaution against infection — something I don’t always experience in other salons.
The place is very bright and clean and all of the chairs and equipment look brand new. Tony is so earnest and likable, I want him to succeed, but he is just getting started in the nail salon business and there are several areas for improvement he can address if he wants to reach that 4^th and 5^th star:
* Turn off the TV, or at least put it on low volume on a non-​stress-​inducing channel (i.e., no cable news networks showing the latest caught-​on-​camera shoot-​out — eek!).
* Keep the conversation to a minimum. Your customer wants to enjoy the massage chair and that’s a challenge when you keep coming over to chat every 5 minutes.
* If you’re offering a champagne cocktail in a chilled flute (a very nice touch!), make the drink at least 75% champagne. A mimosa that’s 99% OJ is kind of a letdown. (I get the impression that Tony doesn’t drink these drinks and so doesn’t know what a good mimosa should be.)
* Warn your customers if you don’t have enough hands available to do a mani/​pedi at one time. I was in there for 2 hours (!!) to get a simple soak/​exfoliation/​buff treatment with no polish on hands or feet. I’m used to getting in and out within 60 minutes, and that usually includes massage of feet, calves, hands, arms, and shoulders at my usual nail spa. I wasn’t the only customer who was left without a full treatment as my next appointment to meet family for dinner drew near.
* Get some girly-​fashion-​gossip magazines for women to read while in the pedi chairs. I don’t subscribe to Us Weekly and People, but my monthly trip to the nail salon affords me the guilty pleasure of catching up on my celebrity gossip. Golf mags and nail tech catalogs don’t cut it.
* Do NOT photograph your customers and post their pictures on your website without their permission in advance. Papparazzi-​style ambushes while in unflattering poses do not make for a very relaxing experience. I didn’t want to make a big deal of it, but it kind of freaked me out…
