Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cedar City

Check in was very efficient and the front desk guy was nice but not much else nice about this place. HotTub was broken, carpet in room was stained, the dresser and TV had a fairly substantial amount of some sort of oil on it (we used a washcloth to wipe it up), bathtub/​shower had pubic hairs (short, curly, dark hairs… I assume those are pubic hairs). We stay at Holiday Inn Express when we travel, this one is certainly not up to the standards of most that we have stayed in.

We look for the Holiday Inn Express because of three reasons: their accept pets, they have suites with microwaves and refrigerators. We checked in, went to our room, and found no refrigerator or microwave. The desk clerk explained that the appliances had been breaking down. So that is my problem after driving 600 miles? This Inn was more expensive than other Holiday Inn Expresses. You must ask first and not expect all Inns to be the same.

I had the chance to stay here when my wife and I traveled to Bryce Canyon and wanted to cut the driving time.
Check in: Check in was awesome. The front desk agent was super nice and being that I am from Las Vegas we had the chance to discuss this fine city and he expressed a desire to come down here and work in some of the finest hotels in the world. Great conversation had during check in — made the step by step process seem non-​existent. Kudos to him for being so young but providing truly polished and genuine service.
The Room: The room was nice. It is not fully up to date with HIE Standards, but its comfy and had a great TV. The only reason why my review is not 5 stars is because man, these walls are paper thin. We heard our neighbors in the morning, at night and in between. Even with the TV turned up.
Breakfast: Breakfast is exactly what you would expect with an HIE. Where is that button??? Ahhh fresh pancakes! Yeah — the hot breakfast at HIE’s rock.
Check out: Check out was very efficient. They asked me how my stay was and I spared them the «hey your walls are thing» stuff because, trust me, they already know.
Post Stay: My wife forgot her pillow. We called and they had it for us when we drove back from St. George. Gah, an extra hour on I-​15. They were so friendly when I went back in to grab it. We discussed the perils of the hospitality industry’s Lost and Found challenges. A fun time indeed. Thanks for a great stay!

Heated indoor pool & jacuzzi was nice!
Hotel staff was friendly (we got there too early to check in, but staff let us keep our bags behind the front desk for a few hours so we could explore town).
The hotel wasn’t the newest or nicest Holiday Inn we’ve been to (we’re members, and travel a lot, so see a LOT of them), but it held its own.
I was impressed at how clean the pool area was. I am so squicked out by slime and hair around swimming pools and spas, this steamy indoor area was SURE to be icky, but it was super clean — good job guys!!! Very impressive!
Great breakfast in the morning too, and they didn’t let it run out, despite what seemed like a herd of teenage volleyball girls eating there one morning!

The hotel is a little old, but still in pretty good shape. Staff is friendly and helpful.
But, this is the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I travel for work and stay in hotels 40 weeks a year.
People stomping up and down the halls, slamming doors, standing in the halls and carrying on conversations. Wednesday night, a RV parked under the awning and left its Diesel engine running for half an hour at midnight!
If you are a lite sleeper like me, avoid this place and try somewhere else.

Been here before, while my wife and I visit Cedar City for the Shakespeare festival. Located just off the highway but not close enough to where you can hear all the cars and trucks driving by.
The rooms are clean, they are pet friendly (which is great if your travel with your little friends) and the staff is always friendly. You also have a morning breakfast which starts at 6 am (not sure if this is daily) but take my advise and wake up early because it can get pretty busy especially during the summer months.
Pleasant place to stay and rest your head.

Passed through Cedar City for the night as I was making my way from Denver to California. Staff was friendly, rooms and hotel property was super clean. Rooms were very spacious and had great wifi.
This place is getting a full 5 stars because this is one of the very few hotels I have stayed at that is truly pet friendly. Most hotels say they are pet friendly, but all that really means is that they accept pets in the room.
This place had a dedicated dog area, and poop bags available on the premises. Also, all the staff were very friendly and excited to see our pets.

My family and I decided to stay at this hotel after visiting the national parks in the area for a couple days and before heading to Las Vegas. It proved to be a great choice!
The room itself was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the sheets sparkling clean, while the bathroom had every necessity one might need for a one night stay.
The hotel also had laundry on site, and that proved to be very beneficial.
Breakfast was OK, as well.
We requested a room on a higher floor, and our request was fulfilled.
The only reason I am not giving this hotel five stars is because of the annoying sound of the tub. Each time someone was taking a shower there was a continuous squeaky noise that was very hard to tolerate.

Newer hotel, indoor pool, better than average morning breakfast. Rooms clean, new furnishings, bed was firm and restful. Kids had good time at the pool in the evening, open till 2300, opened on Sunday Morning at 0900. So my grand children swam after breakfast for an hour an a half! Made for a quiet drive back to Eagle Mountain Utah, 3.5 hours! Breakfast biscuits, gravy, eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes, yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels, fresh fruit, pancake maker! Coffee, orange juice, milk, cocoa. Only question is I made the booking for two rooms, when we arrived my daughter paid for her room and I for ours. Upon arriving home and checking my account was billed for two rooms. Credit Union is checking the charges. Called and the clerk claimed only one room billed to my account. However my account shows two charges. Will follow up when more is known, still great place to stay for a family. 84.90 for two queens for one night, very reasonable and good value.

Got a great deal on Priceline and honestly didn’t expect much but when I got here the room was clean, new, and the bed was comfortable. I was able to FaceTime on their free wifi which means it’s decently fast. I was surprised to find a fridge in my room. Breakfast wasn’t anything amazing but they did have Chobani yogurt and Udi’s gluten free bagels. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. Free breakfast with good variety. Also free parking. You can’t beat that. I stayed here for one night in November after Thanksgiving holiday. I would recommend this hotel for anyone.

We stayed over the Halloween weekend, it was a very enjoyable weekend. The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was good the only down side was the extremely slow internet.

As a frequent traveler I often seek on Holiday In Express for its excellent customer service and the better quality breakfast provided. I am often on the road for vacation and in this occasion I was driving with my daughter and three young grandchildren from California to Montana. I chose the Cedar City location and checked in around 9 at night. I mentioned to the wonderful desk clerk that we would be leaving at 2am to complete our drive to Montana. She very kindly mentioned that coffee would be available and to ask «wade». Upon getting up at 2am and walking my daughter and grandchildren to the car, I reminded her about the coffee and staying awake. She has 3 children under 4 and can’t just run into a gas station to grab a cup. The breakfast room was open and we got a cup of coffee for her. We did not expect anything else because it was not breakfast hours. Upon leaving the room the night clerk (wade) stated at us and my daughter made a brief comment about getting on the road. He did not even reply. He simply stared with an angry look. When I returned to the hotel lobby I noticed the breakfast door was locked. I mentioned to Wade that for safety my daughter grabbed the coffee that was offered by the clerk who checked is in. He lectured me that coffee was NOT available. I have stayed at many holiday inns as well as world class accommodations and I have never been lectured by a desk clerk. Most establishments will go out of their way to offer you coffee, especially if they know you are up and leaving very early. I am very disappointed to the point where I will NEVER stop here again. I will write reviews about wade and the way I was treated in every venue I can find to make sure this does not happen to any other tired traveler. He is a reflection of this company and if company policy is to deny an already made cup of coffee to a traveler that leaves at 2am then I want nothing to do with Holiday InnExpress

That is a very solid hotel to stay in while resting through a road trip. $ 112(includes tax) for 2 queen beds, full directv, and «spa» area. I drove from California yesterday, got here at 7pm, showered, ordered pizza, watched Bears vs. 49ers, sat in the hot tup for half an hour
(listening to Howard Stern), fell asleep, now I’m writing this review as I scarf down some eggs before I hit the road again. Basically, I have a long, long ride ahead of me and this hotel successfully facilitated the recharging of my batteries. Nothing fancy, but it got the job done.

Great pet friendly hotel right out of the freeway and conveniently located close to restaurants and other stores. Plenty of parking space, and friendly personnel.
The room was large and very clean, for being a pet room, it was spot and odorless, wow, I couldn’t believe we were in a pet room.
This hotel is 100% smoking free, so you actually can breath clean air. We loved it!
The hotel also offers a free full breakfast, so we tried, not bad at all; eggs, sausages, toast, fruits, cinnamon rolls, etc, etc. as I stated before, full breakfast with a good variety of juices, not just orange or apple juice, but more.
I highly recommend it. Definitely for all of us that travels from Ca. to Co or vice verse and just want a place to crash for the night, this is the place!

I can deal with sub-​standard quality as long as the attitude of the workers isn’t inept.
Checked into this hotel after about 8 hr road trip. Looked like a nice and clean place, seemed like it’d be a great place to sleep for the night before getting up bright and early.
We went to get into our sheets and they are still wet. Not like a bit damp, but actually wet. When I went to the front desk to ask about the ability to get moved to another room or get some dry sheets I was told that they are all going to be wet because that’s how they have to be put on so they don’t wrinkle. *Ive stayed in quite a few hotels in my military career, none have had wet sheets.
He then informed me that in order to be moved to a different room I would need to pay for my room cleaning and then pay again for the upgrade… I chose to check out and drive 2 more hours to stay in another hotel.
Elevator was broken and elderly were stranded on the third floor. The excuse management gave was that a tour group came in and used it too much… You know because that happens to elevators.
Needless to say. Won’t be using them again.

This was a good, clean hotel that was conveniently located right off the highway, and close to a lot of the things in the area. Cedar Breaks was about 30 minutes away through the Dixie National Forest. Some petroglyphs were very close by. Downtown Cedar City was maybe 10 minutes away. Zion National Park was about an hour away. There are shops, several chain restaurants, and a Walmart Superstore within a 5 minute drive (other side of the highway).
I stayed here 5 days, and got a really good rate here — much cheaper than the hotel next door. Parking is plentiful and free. My room was nice, the beds were comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was very spacious clean (love those Holiday Inn cloth shower curtains). There was a nice mini-​frig in my room, which I like. All good.
There’s a very good breakfast in the morning, and the breakfast room was large and sunny — very nice. There are coin washer/​dryers on the 1^st AND 3^rd floors — that was very convenient.
One thing that annoyed me was the wifi. It was free, but you had to continually sign in with a passcode — just a tad bothersome. Other than that, perfect place — I have stayed here before, and I would most definitely stay here again.
p. s. Recommendation: Kolob Canyons, a part of Zion National Park, is very close to this hotel. It’s a quick drive on the freeway 15 (exit 40). This is BEAUTIFUL drive through Kolob Canyon — really breathtaking.

I needed to spend the night in Cedar City to get some sleep while on a particularly long drive, so I booked a fantastic rate on Hotwire and it ended up being for this Holiday Inn. I was quite happy with my luck, because this particular property is *right* off I-​15, making it super convenient for road trippers like myself.
My room was very large, and absolutely spotless. There was a mini-​fridge where I could stash all my road trip snacks so they didn’t spoil in the car, and I was also pleased that they had way more than just the basic cable package you get at most hotels. It even included several free movie channels, which was a nice treat. There was also free wi-​fi.
I’m very severely allergic to dogs, so I was nervous when I saw a guest’s golden retriever in the lobby and realized it’s a pet-​friendly hotel. But the lobby and my room really were immaculate, so I had zero issues.
There is also a free continental breakfast in the morning, which I unfortunately couldn’t make use of. The dining area looked spacious and welcoming, but breakfast starts at 6 a.m. and I had to hit the road a bit earlier than that. But, very conveniently, there’s a drive-​thru Starbucks location that opens at 5 a.m., located next door to a Chevron, just down the road and also directly by the highway – so I was still able to grab coffee, breakfast, and gas all in one quick stop before getting back on the road.
My only real critique is that when I checked in (late) and checked out (early), there was no one at the front desk. But I wasn’t in a big rush, and my hours were pretty unorthodox, so it was barely an annoyance.
While this isn’t a thrilling location if you’re coming to Cedar City for a vacation or something like that, it’s certainly ideal if you’re a road-​tripper and need a reliable and affordable place to rest for the night.

We had to stay at a pet friendly hotel and get a pet room. I will never travel with a pet again because I am a germaphobe about hotels but this one was actually ok. We had a horrible pet room at another hotel at a different point in our trip, but this one you couldn’t even really tell that animals were allowed.
Room was clean, hotel was very fresh, and we had a good stay. Didn’t try the breakfast, but I’m sure it’s standard Holiday Inn fare. Staff was friendly. Right off the freeway, and a 10 minute drive to the city center.

For the money that I paid, I expected way more than I recieved. There was no shampoo and conditioner in the bathroon. There were stains on my pillowcases. The only thing that saved this review was the free continental breakfast. Fricking biscuits and gravy at a free continental breakfast. I dont think so. Im used to
wrapped up Danishes and Bagels. I will givw this place 3 stars only because of the continental breakfast. The staff is pretty good and friendly. Put it like this I would stay there again when traveling from Colorado to Los Angeles. The goods outweigh the bads and the bads were not very many.

Anyway: Hier geht es um ein erstklassiges Hotel in der hübschen und sicheren Mormonen-​Stadt Cedar City, eine knappe Stunde vom Bryce Canyon NP entfernt.
Das Hotel verwöhnt auf europäischem 4-​Sterne Plus Standard zu sehr reellen Preisen. Wir fühlten und in den ruhigen Zimmern sehr wohl. Alles war neu, sauber und schön. Das Frühstück (for free!) Gab uns den Rest und wir blieben eine Nacht länger als geplat. Das ist Urlaub!
