This is a quaint little place in the heart of downtown Paradise. Food was good. Service was fast and friendly. My only complaint is the only«creamer» available for the coffee was low-fat milk which barely lightened my coffee at all, let alone enrich the flavor. Next time I’ll bring my own cream.

Looking at the reviews I expected the food to be better than what it was I had the egg nighter and it was nothing to rave about I don’t think this will become a regular spot for me but it was convenient and they were friendly

Enjoyed our first-time breakfast visit to Lucy’s. Dee and Mary were very friendly and the food was great. The sausage was particularly yummy!!! Portion sizes just right — not too much, not too little. Great local place!

My fiancé and I wanted to check out Duesenberg’s close by but the wait was too long and I just got off night shift & was starving. Thanks to Unilocal,we found this gem of a place. It’s a cosy, no frills restaurant with a limited menu of breakfast and lunch. I had Cheese omelet, home fries and pancake & added a side of scrapple. I appreciated the fast and polite service. Will be back to check out the lunch items :)

This place is a hole in the wall for sure, but I was excited to try it after reading such good reviews. The service is excellent but the food greasy and seemed like it was made from low quality ingredients, everything just felt a little dirty.

I’m writing this review in between bites of the BEST pancakes in the world. And I mean it. Nice, fluffy, tasty, and light. Turkey sausage and over medium fried eggs. I am so glad that I found this place on Unilocal! And they make me feel like a regular which is a nice change from the automated world that we live.

I’m staying on campus at UMBC working this summer with a summer research institute. My daughter stays with me off and on. I am trying to save money by not going to the on campus spots that are a bit pricey and have weird inconvenient hours. Found this spot on Unilocal and was pleased with the low prices. I don’t usually eat pancakes from any place other than iHop. The pancakes here were really good as was the cheese omelette and potatoes. My daughter got a sausage, egg and cheese bagel. We both enjoyed our food. There are no special airs about this place. It is what it is, a straightforward American diner with simple fare and nothing fancy.

This place is right around the corner from us — so we walk past it all the time and took today(a snow day) to go out and have breakfast there. The décor is a little dated, but the food was fantastic and the service was great. They have the mainstays of breakfast — my only complaint was there don’t have biscuits and gravy(my go-to breakfast out food) but I had a western omelette that was great and my husband had griddle cakes and bacon and it was all good!

I love the feel of this place. It’s a small town cute diner. Fast service, very good food and great price. I will definitely make this a place I come by often. I love that they have a very young staff in training and its awesome. Continue doing what ya are doing. :D

This place is horrible disgustingly dingy inside dust and dirt all over the place. Workers were very nice before I realized this place was too unsanitary to eat there I ordered hot chocolate cute presentation BUTSTALE sprinkles and low quality swiss miss hot chocolate disgusting I had two spoonfuls and left! Don’t waste your time.

My sister and her boyfriend invited me to breakfast at Deusenbergs but that place was PACKED! 1 hour wait! I then checked to see if there was another place near the area that served breakfast. This place was it. We came in and it’s a small family? diner. Really small but cozy! We sat down and the menu was small, yay! Small, simple and had everything you wanted for a good breakfast. I got 1 order of 2 eggs and sausage and another order of just 2 eggs. 4 eggs sunny side up, 2 pieces of sausage, and 2 slices of bread. Pop the eggs onto the bread, having it soak the juices up, then putting a sausage on it and taking a bite… This is why I love breakfast. Home cooked meals that makes you happy! The service was fast, food was good, and the owner was very friendly! They don’t accept tips from credit/debit cards but luckily there are ATM’s nearby at the 7 Eleven and liquor store.

Great place for lunch or breakfast. Simple, hone style food in a local diner. Owner Mary here most days. Love supporting local… the now take credit cards. Had a BLT and it was great. Most items under $ 7. Stop in if close.

No nonsense diner/grill. Four or five booths along the wall and a few seats at the counter and that is it. They now accept credit cards but have a $ 6 minimum. Went here for breakfast early one morning after helping a friend move. The two women that run the place found out my friend was new to the area and told him about the community association and gave him a copy of its newsletter. While we were there, several regulars came in and were all greeted by name. Very small town feel not too far from Baltimore, quite nice(this is what gets Lucy’s its 4th star). I’ve only had breakfast here and its solid. The home fries are some of the best I’ve had(I like how thinly they are sliced) in awhile. They don’t do poached eggs, but they fried my eggs to just the right degree of doneness that I still had runny yolks to mix in with my home fries. I ordered two eggs with ham and the ham was the only disappointing part, I was expecting something like a ham steak and instead I received slices of deli meat. In the end, Lucy’s is a comforting place with decent food. It is also open early and within walking distance of my friend’s place so I know I’ll be back.

Have been meaning to try this place because it’s within walking distance of my house and it’s super cheap! I got the western omelette and it was so good! Justin got french toast, also amazing. The décor is original and feels like somewhere your grandparents might go for breakfast. Only problem I have is that they didn’t allow you to add a tip on a card, had to go across the street to 7 – 11 get cash out for a tip. The service was excellent so we had no problem doing that, just wish they would get something like square which allows you to add a tip.

They only take cash ATM is across the street inside 7 – 11 This is what my belated dear grandfather would have called a dirty spoon in a good way. I can picture him in a booth every morning for coffee and newspaper. Knowing everyone’s name that walked in. The food is cooked to order and you get the feeling of being at her(chef) dining room table. The portions are huge.

What a cute little diner. The owner Mary(most people greeted me very warmly). She was the cook/host/waitress. I ordered the pancake platter. Which had pancakes that were light as air. I was naughty and went for the carve with delish home fries, crispy bacon and perfectly fried eggs. I just love this area of Maryland. They are cash only so just bring some money :-). The service here is outstanding. The food is reasonably priced and served promptly. What more could you ask for?.

It’s amazing what a change of perspective will give you. I’ve been fortunate enough to be in a position where I can do my job from just about anywhere. And lately, I’ve moved into a role where I’m encouraged to do just that. So, my commute has turned from a half-hour+ drive to a walk down the hall most days. The end result of this is that when lunch time rolls around, I want a quick bite: fast, hot, and easy on the wallet. That Lucy’s is right around the corner and a couple minutes’ walk away makes it easier to like. This is a neighborhood greasy spoon, plain and simple. A lunch counter with no pretension or delusions of grandeur. Cold cut sandwiches, burgers and steak subs off the grill, offerings from the deep fryer. Served up with a drink in a tall styrofoam cup. Rough around the edges, a little dingy and pockmarked in places. But, it’s service to order. The same faces every day. They get to know your name, what you like. Sandwiches are simple, fairly hearty things. There’s cake, on a stand, under a cover — grab a slice to go. A lunch counter — no more, no less. No ciabatta, no 10-grain toast, no rosemary-olive sourdough. Mid-day sustenance in stripped-down 4⁄4 time. It’s a slice, a dive, a throwback, an institution just shy of being institutionalized. And like a bluesman with a beaten-up six-string, you don’t care that it’s out of tune most of the time, coarse, and a little dirty, you’re just happy it’s still around. Because without it, life’d be a little less interesting.
