Richard Comstock, MD

I have had sinus issues for as long as I can remember and in recent years they got worse. Other Doctors told me I had allergies or the pollen count had been high etc. After two sinus infections and three bouts of bronchitis close together I finally got to Dr. Comstock who quickly diagnosed my problem. There were a few minor issues and a deviated septum which created chronic inflammation that lead to all the suffering I was experiencing. He provided several regimen to help improve the situation and described a surgery which would correct the problem. He refereed me to an allergists to be sure that was not contributing to my problem and had me scanned to confirm his diagnosis. He was very patient, explained every option and ever step along the way. I rarely had questions as he seemed to try to address all common concerns during every visit. I decided to go ahead with the surgery thinking any improvement would be. I have to say I was amazed. All the staff were friendly and professional. Made me feel comfortable, triple checked everything to be sure I would be save. When it was all done I was actually able to breath though my nose when I first work up in recovery. Very little of the process was painful from surgery through my first week of recovery. I did not use all of the pain medication he prescribed, did not experience any nausea, and the bleeding dropped off rapidly the next day. I had a small complication with the splint and he was happy to see me the same day and remove it. When the stitches were removed the following week it hurt but he got it over with quickly. I felt amazing afterwards. I don’t know if my sinus had ever been so clear. I sleep so much better. I generally feel way more relaxed and less tired. My sense of smell feels like a super power.
I had spoken over half a dozen people who had a similar surgery who braced me for a horrible experience. Mine was almost nothing like they described. Dr. Comstock used a newer approach which is less invasive, and a more focused. He described to me the differences in detail. As a result my surgery was much faster, with less bleeding, little pain, and shorter recovery time. I am very grateful. I am only a day into my second week of recovery and I don’t know if I have ever breathed better though my nose. I have no visible swelling or bruising. I can play with my kid, in the park and head back to work. Aside from a bit of occasional itchiness due to the stitches I feel fantastic. I highly recommend Dr. Comstock and his staff.

We went to Dr. Comstock for a Broken/​Fractured nose. We visited twice. Once for a follow up/​stitch removal, and the second for the actual procedure. He is a great listener, patient and very knowledgeable Doctor. His staff is very warm, comforting, and helpful with assisting you with your medical needs. The nose job that Dr. Comstock performed is healing well. My hubby’s nose is good as new thanks to Dr. Comstock & Staff.

I’ve seen Dr. Comstock several times for a nasal polyp that had bothered me for the past year. He is the only doctor that had taken my issue to the next level and examined in my nose with a fiber optic camera to realize I needed surgery. I had gone to two other doctors and they told me it had been allergies and kept prescribing allergy medicine which was not the issue at all. I finally got surgery done by Dr Comstock and he even called personally to check up on me himself twice. Such an awesome doctor and really nice facility. All the nurses were amazing as well! I strongly suggest you go to him for any ENT problems.

I’ve seen Dr. Comstock twice. I’m in the middle of what could be a very serious health problem. He’s young, extremely sharp, and straight-​forward. He didn’t waste any time in scheduling me for diagnostic tests, and he’s very good at communicating his opinion. Since I have a science background, it’s great to find a doctor who explains medical issues without condescension. The clinic where he works, Eden Medical Center, is a Sutter Health facility and very new. The staff is superb and well-​trained, empathetic, and courteous.

Dr. Richard Comstock saw me for an annoying ear problem. He was very personable, patient and really spent time listening to me. He did a thorough ENT exam and sent me to get a hearing exam from which I learned I was boarder line normal. I have seen other ENT MDs, but I felt that Dr. Comstock gave me the best care and attention. The office staff and facilities are great. I definitely will keep Dr. Comstock as my ENT doc.
