Haley totally rocks! She was so helpful and I had to come on here to let people know. This place is clean, the machines are working great and the lobby was easy to maneuver around. We all have horror stories about the laundromat from Hell, but this place was amazing. No crazy patrons here! (except for me)

This has got to be the best place to come get your dry cleaning and laundry done! I always come here and do laundry and I’m always leaving happy. I don’t talk to the employees much except for the initial hello and for quarters, but when I do talk to them they’re all very friendly. Anyways, it’s an awesome place, awesome service, and I’d highly recommend this laundromat!

I don’t know how people go here. Customer services does not exist in this place. I dropped off five dress shirt for dry cleaning. When I picked the shirts up, they were not even iron. It looked like the person just took it straight out of dryer and handed to me on hangers. My blood was boiling. When you give shirts for dry cleaning you don’t wash it throughly by putting it in the washer. I could have done that at home too but i didn’t want to destroy the shirts.
Please save your self the trouble and stay away from this place.

I was in need of new dry cleaning place and I am so glad I found this place. We had soooo many clothes to dry clean and it was so simple, just put it in a bag and give it to them. The price is $ 4.50 per pound. we had 10 lbs of clothes and $ 1 for steam clean, the total came up to $ 46. Not bad right? And mind you we had 4 button ups, 2 mens jeans, 1 mens dress pants, a couple of my tops and a dress. I think its a good price since its tagged by the weight and not the items. I would suggest not to dry clean a lot of jeans since they are so heavy vs $ 4.50 per piece at other places. Also, they allow you to pay when you pick up the items. Ohhhhh and my dry cleaning was ready in 4 hours :)

Robin was super nice on the phone, super duuuuper nice in person but cautioned me that while they do a great job, «no miracles happen in this building». Well I disagree, because the dress I was cautioned by many to avoid any sort of cleaning beyond spot cleaning because it would just run all over the place… well, it is clean and perfect without a hint of staining. And in ONE DAY at that, when no other places I could find would do it in less than two. Now I have my favorite dress ready for my birthday dinner, when I’d already sort of accepted it might be ruined in the process of trying to clean it. I could cry I’m so happy.

Super clean facility. I’ve never had a machine take my coins without working. Their machines are always in good working order and well kept. Cool music playing while you wait. Clean, cute little restroom that has powder hand soap! Not sure why but I LOVE powder hand soap. The workers are always pleasant and helpful. They don’t sweat me about using clean tennis balls to make my comforter dry well and evenly. They also have a lot of cool antique washing supplies hung up around the facility. Ok, I have to admit that when I come here once in a while to wash comforters, I don’t mind hanging around a couple hours. This place is somehow pretty cool! :)

I was extremely surprised this place was so clean. We usually go to another laundrymat in CV as our post-​camping ritual to get all of our sleeping bags cleaned. We decided to go here, because our normal place was incredibly filthy. We’ve noticed the declined quality more and more over the years.
There is a parking lot behind R&J that looks like it shares with Connie’s Pond and Garden. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it didn’t seem too busy. I thought laundry day was typically on a Sunday and seeing this place a bit empty made me really happy.
As soon as you enter, you notice the decorations and the cleanliness. There are signs from the ceiling describing what kind of machines they have. We went for the heavy load ones for our sleeping bags. There was someone there the entire time to help with people dropping off dry cleaning and quarter-​help. There were all the amenities you needed to get your laundry done with no difficulties: quarter machine, tables, chairs, carts, sink, soap machine, and magazines. The magazines are probably the most important, especially if you forgot to bring your reading material or your phone died.
This has become my new post-​camping ritual location. I hope to try the dry cleaning services one day.

Extremely frustrated and disappointed is the best way to describe this place. I’ve been getting my uniforms dry cleaned for many years and have always been satisfied I’m not a picky person. Living in Castro Valley and looking at all the good reviews I decided to take my uniforms there for the first time. Since I’ve never had a problem with dry cleaning I didn’t even bother looking at it until I got home. Once I got home and saw my uniforms I was LIVID and still am. my pants were wrinkled as hell! Has if they just came out of a dirty laundry bucket. My brand new uniform shirt had some sort of red lint all over that I have spent over an hour lint rolling trying to remove it. When I called the girl on the phone she had the audacity of telling that it must have gotten wrinkled hanging (wtf) My frustration is beyond, I paid for a service not a favor and my uniforms look way better before I dropped them off. This is a laundrymat, calling yourself a dry cleaning service is a cruel joke!

This place is adorable! It hasn’t changed in decades, so it will take you back to a time long lost. It even has a photo history of Castro Valley on the walls! The machines work just as well as they always have and the service is as friendly as can be. I LOVED doing my laundry in a place that was almost like a time capsule. Such a cool place to visit, I can’t wait to be a regular!

Clean, usually friendly, spacious, parking lot. Kinda can’t go wrong here. Conveniently, they also do dry cleaning and have a bunch of old school touches through out.
My one complaint is I wish their hours were a bit extended. It’s 6:41 am right now and I wanted to go wash, but they open at 8.

Very friendly and helpful attendants. The place is very clean and tidy. They have a lot of machines, I cannot imagine this place ever being completely full. I will always prefer European washing machines above the American ones, but having said that, this is a great place to do your laundry.

Val is awesome, I was pretty late in getting there (like, she had just turned off the radio as I walked in) and despite explaining that it wouldn’t offend me if she didn’t want to take my suit and shirts, she still said she’d be happy to take them.
And frankly, they wouldn’t have lost my business, nobody can really compete; I’ve never seen a cleaning service that was open till 8pm. Much less; a place that was open 7 days a week.

New to the area and was Unilocaling laundromats and so thought I would give this one a try. Believe the reviews! It was super clean and Val who works there is the friendliest! It had been 10 years since I had been to a laundromat and I was excited for the simple fact that they will run your debit card to give you quarters and no dumb service fees. The old dryers are the best and try extremely fast!

I love this place! It’s old but has a lot of history to it — vintage. There aren’t a ton of washers/​dryers but it isnt usually too busy. It is clean and everyone that works there is friendly and helpful!
No ATM inside but they will give you quarters for cash!
Highly recommend!

Over the hill from my little cottage is this lovely laundry place! I wish I had found it sooner because some of the laundromats in the bay are rough (to say the least).
Really clean and the staff is nice! They have a vintage vibe going on, plenty of folding tables.
Top things to know:
–staff will change your dollars for quarters
–dryers are 25 cents for 6 minutes (one full load took one dollar to dry for me, no bulky stuff though)
–12lb top loader is 2.00
–there is a parking lot in the back
–they have plenty of wheely cart thingies
–they are also a dry cleaning place but I didn’t come for this and there’s a bunch of reviews that did so read those
Also bonus, you don’t really have to worry about someone stealing all your underwear! I think I’ve scored.

Nice place here — I initially chose to drop off my dry cleaning here due to their extensive hours (8:00 am — 8:00 pm, 7 days a week), but several factors keep me coming back:
*Staffed by nice, helpful people
*Very clean environment
*Very quick dryclean turnaround
*Excellent job on my clothing; I’ve never had an item lost or damaged
They do charge by the pound ($ 4.50), so with my fairly heavy clothing (woolen skirts, blazers, etc.), this is not exactly a deal, but it is a fair price. They offer a steam finish for an additional $ 0.50 which is nice, but it doesn’t leave your clothing with a crisp, pressed finish like other places. When I get home, I still need to do ironing to get rid of wrinkles.
I haven’t utilized their coin-​operated washers or dryers, but I would feel good about doing so because the facility is always staffed and you wouldn’t have to worry about someone walking away with your clothing while you’re in the bathroom. Oh yeah — they have a bathroom available! And it’s a clean and well maintained bathroom, too.
Overall, I like R & J and I think you will too!

First time here. I’m so glad this place exists! I’ve had my fair share of laundromats & they are nothing nice. This place has an antique touch, extremely clean, friendly staff, nice waiting area (you forget that you’re at a laundromat) with magazines & street view if you like people watching. I only had one item so it was nice to be in a comfortable environment. I actually procrastinated because I didn’t want to go to a grimy place where everyone looks miserable & they stare at you crazy, for one thing. I will definitely be back!

Great environment to wash clothes in! The attendant was really friendly and helpful even though I made a mess by my washer and left wet tissue everywhere. He didn’t make a fuss and still helped me with a smile.
This is my new laundry spot! Machines are older but well looked after. I love the retro theme here, it’s very nice!
Make sure you park in the back, Castro Valley Blvd can get pretty busy.
And don’t be dumb like me and dump quarters into the machines. They have a sign that states how many minutes per quarter and there is no minimum amount of time.
They also offer dry cleaning and steam pressing!
