Normally eat at the Troy, Il location. Also usually eat eggs, bacon, hash brns & grits and a biscuit. At times get the chic special on Sundays, and chicken has a very good taste. We were early this Sunday, so tried the French Toast ‘special’ with the chocolate topping, and was just ok. The side of bacon was below avg. 3 pieces were stuck together, and 1 piece was curling up and 2″ were UNCOOKED. What I could eat had NO flavor(as compared to CB in Troy). Also the server left our check(thankfully it was turned down), but we had barely started eating. From previous prior experience, this is done to ‘speed’ you up when finished. This was a ‘no-no’ in past years, so we took our time leaving when finished. Then we went outside and sat on your $ 169 rocking chairs. HUMM, personally would buy 1 at $ 59, as it seems way, way overpriced. When I return, will order the bacon. If it’s like today, will definitely get a Mgr and have the staff re-cook with a weight over top, so bacon will be bigger(longer) and f-u-l-l-y cooked!

I ate dinner there. Our food was good as usual but the service was shockingly horrible. The waitress thought it was acceptable to not reply when we made requests. She got what we asked for without acknowledging us but she brought the items. She came with water after someone asked for a refill and I told her I didn’t know she heard us ask for water since she didn’t acknowledge us. She proceeded to ignore me. She later briefed her manager in clear view across the restaurant before we could speak with him. He took something off our bill but he never apologized for her rudeness. Her rudeness was unnecessary and unwarranted. Their food is not good enough for me to deal with that. I will go where my money is more appreciated.

We have had breakfast here several times and the food is consistent and is served quickly. It is pretty busy so best to arrive early. Overall a good dining experience.

Great dining experience! Had dinner with my husband and we both loved our meals and had friendly and prompt service. I had the steak, mixed vegetables, cup of vegetable soup, sweet potato, and biscuits. Steak was lean, flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Hubby had the bbq ribs, corn, mashed potatoes, and biscuits. Everything was very good. Only problem is that they don’t have locations in Southern California!

I used to like them but what happened here. Yesterday the chicken n dumplings had nearly no dumplings, the portion was small, and veggies were not fresh. The meatloaf was better but still not up to standard. Slow service, too. Very disappointing.

Pretty much your standard Cracker Barrel. Food and service were good and they were friendly. Would eat there again.

UNSAFEPARKINGLOT. In addition, we were told Cracker Barrel corporate office would call us to follow up. To date, we have not received any communication.

Extremely disappointed. Drove 30 miles to get here only to have our order never show up. Watched as others were seated and served while we waited with no offering from staff to let is know what the hold up was. Asked to speak to the manager who clearly didn’t want to deal with me. Left the establishment. Will not go here again…

Did you know that Cracker Barrel won an award, given by Nation’s Restaurant News(a trade journal for restaurant professionals), as consumer pick for best restaurant in the Family Dinining Category? I know a few people have had a bad experience but ours is almost always great, no matter the location. Came to this one for supper on Mother’s Day. They had obviously been slammed. But the waitress was still cheerful and the food fantastic. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that they were out of baked potatoes and I had to send my steak back for a little more time on the grill(server stood right by me after initial delivery and insisted I check it before she left and sure enough, it needed more time). A big Kudos to the cook who figured out how to make hashbrown casserole hot and crispy!

The last few times I’ve visited any of the CB stores I’ve noticed that what was once a good value meal for what you pay is no longer. I just happened to be at the Caseyville store today and I was once again disappointed in what I was served. They tricked me… put an attractive poster of the daily lunch special… meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and a side of corn… so I went all in and ordered it. I did change out the corn for the cucumber/tomato/onion salad. When the meal arrived, boy, was i disappointed! The«slice»(more pieces than a slice) of meatloaf was so thin you could possibly read a newspaper through it. There was maybe 1⁄3 cup of mashed potatoes, and without the corn the small plate was nearly empty. Fool me once. shame on you… fool me twice. shame on me. Even though the CB franchise is my wife’s favorite, I will be strongly suggesting other spots.

Only took 15 minutes to be seated, that’s about as good as it was, watched the 2 tables next to me that were seated after me get their food 10 mins before me… All breakfast food… Asked for unfrozen butter, still came out froze. We received half our food then had to asked for the rest, lastly asked a 3rd time… Toast was cold so frozen butter wasn’t worth a dang. I asked for eggs over easy, came out over medium/hard… After I let the waitress know I wasn’t happy, had to ask another worker to get our bill after they took our plates away 15 minutes before… Used to eat CB once a week, now it’s closer to once/year…

Friendly is what this restaurant has going for it! Very impressed with the healthy menu options: granola, yogurt, turkey bacon, multigrain/almond bars. Very progressive for a country-type restaurant. Quick service, under ten minutes! Pecan pancakes, fluffy biscuits, good coffee.

This is my favorite CB. I’ve been several times, usually there’s no wait, no matter what time it is. It’s a nice little trip across the river. I always have the same thing– mom’s pancake breakfast, always perfect, crispy pancakes, juicy maple sausage.

This is the«BEST» family experience around! The sentimental side of me always feels comfortable in their unique classic Americana setting, especially when you’re greeted by a sweet, kind, waitress… I always get the«Country Boy»! I love the sirloin well done, my boy likes the ham steak. The antiques & the General Store are classic! I highly suggest this venue for your next family outing. Big Steve

I was traveling with some friends and had never heard of Cracker Barrel before… Upon passing one, I told my group of friends — they were shocked and appalled. They immediately turned the car around and we ended up here! Well, I was not incredibly impressed with the country décor, but it won me over. Once I got my order, that was it. SO good. Down home comfort food in a chain restaurant? Yes please. If they had these in CA, they would make a killing. I encourage all you travelers out there to try it, at least once. All you regulars, be happy you have this!
