Rita Chuang, DDS

Dr Chuang is just AAAAmmmazing!!!
She really knows her craft. I knew something was off with my smile, but couldn’t quite figure out what looked off. Dr. Chuang was very thorough in her examination and initial consult and patiently explained to me step-​by-​step how my smile can be enhanced. She took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I understood all the details of the procedures. She served as the the Clinical Director UPenn and it is no wonder she was so good at educating her patients. I was left with a clear understanding of patient’s compliance. I used to be embarrassed about my teeth, but now I smile with confidence and flash my smile every where I go, and the ladies love it.

I don’t think words can truly express how grateful I am to Dr. Rita. I got my braces in August 2013 without knowing that in December 2013 my fiancé would propose to me. I was now planning a December 2014 wedding with braces — not exactly a bride’s dream. There’s a whole back-​end story, but I basically had two orthos in the first few months before Dr. Rita started treating me. So when she started, she had to not only work with what the two previous orthos did (which was barely anything), but also help me get my braces off in time for my wedding. Although it is not preferred by orthos to accelerate the braces process, she completely understood my need. She succeeded and I don’t think any other ortho could have done what she did for me. Even the two prior orthos did not seem to comprehend my needs and the fact that my pain threshold is really high. Even when I told them I don’t feel any pain, they failed to properly tighten my braces. Dr. Rita, on the other hand, adjusted my braces as she felt was proper but simultaneously worked with my pain threshold and wedding timeline.
As you can see from the picture I uploaded, my front two teeth stuck out like a rabbit, my bottom teeth were overly crowded and crooked, and my teeth were all jagged and uneven. Dr. Rita made my teeth straight and she did it in the time frame I needed them off by. She really went above and beyond to work with my needs.
Dr. Rita is brilliant and well-​educated. I never felt like I was just a patient. She always gave me valuable information and instructed me on various things about my teeth. It actually made understand the process better. Even things like how my tongue rests against my front teeth — she trained me to rest it against the roof of my mouth instead. She is so sweet and friendly. Who would have thought I would look forward to going to the dentist? She really made the process go smoothly and pleasantly.
I am so happy with my new teeth. Dr. Rita gave me a new smile and just in time for engagement photos and my wedding!

I went through a drastic life transforming experience with Dr. Chuang. She didn’t only change my smile, she changed my entire life. I got braces later in life than usual American population. I used to be embarrassed of my smile before, and most of the other orthodontist told me that I will be in braces for 5 yrs to fix my smile. However, Dr. Chuang changed it around. She worked with me! She is caring, compassionate, and full of energy, which is definitely a plus.
