Ay naku! The smell of freshly baked Filipino goodies, it always gets me! I don’t come in here often but when I do, I have my favorites. That’s favorite with an –s!!! If I can, I’d eat them all. I’ve never had a bad batch of anything, everything is baked daily. I really enjoy the«bonete»(cupcake-shaped bread), yema and biscotti.(see pictures) The bonete is my fave ever since I was little. I used to eat them for breakfast back in the PI with PB! JBJ’s makes the best compared to any Filipino bakery I’ve been to in Cali. It’s not as good as the ones from back home, but it’s superb. The yema reminds me of the ones my mom makes. JBJ’s is a lot creamier and sticky. It’s not too sweet which I like. Of course, nothing beats mama’s recipe.(And I’m not just saying that ’cause I’m expected to say it. lol!) I only get this when I crave it and mama’s too busy. Biscotti is a must try! I enjoy it with coffee or tea. The boys love it so much! Whenever I go here, I have to buy 2 or 3 packs at a time. Basically, one pack per person! So cheap too, only $ 2.25. JBJ’s has a lot more to offer, feel free to browse. They have chips but I’d rather get those from Seafood City for cheaper and more variety. There’s also pan de sal but if you want the best of the best pan de sal in town, go to Valerio’s Tropical Bakeshop – next to Jollibee!

I stumbled onto this place while waiting for the uniform store in the same shopping center to open. I’m glad I Unilocaled this place while I was sitting in the parking lot, otherwise I probably would not have gone inside. The gentleman I was greeted by in the store was pleasant and helpful to this first timer, for which I was extremely appreciative. The smell upon entry was welcoming as well. For a person like myself who does not eat beef or pork, I had been fiending for the taste of bao. All of the local places I would attempt to order from seemed to relish the addition of putting pork sausage in chicken bao — which totally defeated the purpose if you ask me. I finally found a place that satisfied my crave. Their chicken bao is not only pork free, but it is DELICIOUS! So much so, I ordered half a dozen to take home. Their chicken empanadas are awesome as well, and while they are about half the size of Red Ribbon empanadas, you can’t beat the price($ 1!!!). I’ve also never seen vegetarian lumpia. Theirs is sooo delicious! Again, can’t beat the price($ 1!!!). I would definitely recommend this place to EVERYONE! And plan to return myself in the very near future.

I have been coming here for many years for one thing only. A bag of their pandesal bread. It smells incredible, it’s super soft, very fresh, light sweet taste, its the most amazing piece of bread you will have. Try a bag for just a few bucks and you will not be disappointed.

I absolutely love this bakery! Especially their ube bread, chicken baked buns, pork steamed buns, and chicken empanadas! It’s so heavenly, homemade, and tasty! I actually was running late from the gym and called ahead to let them I really wanted their bread. So they said they would wait for me to come, so wonderful! Thanks a lot and can’t wait to come back again to buy more bread!

I’ve been buying hot pandesal at JBJ every Sunday for the church and this is the only pandesal that our old people wants. The best pandesal anywhere. Everyone is friendly. So blessed to be doing business with them. They have different miriendas too and I love the pimiento spread or the menudo. God bless your business. Thanks for the very good pandesal and more.

I am super picky with my macarons. It could just be a luck thing where it was really good today and could be bad tomorrow, but I’m going to stand firm on my 5 stars(as of right now). Also picked up a chicken empanada because it was just $ 1. Solid.

Wanted to try this place out because of the macarons. $ 11 for 12? That’s the best deal I’ve ever seen for macarons. The place is small and they don’t have much variety in the store. 2 stars because first of all, the macarons were just ok. Some of it taste pretty ok and some just taste weird like the ube one. The consistency of the macarons weren’t all the same some were chewy and some were hard. But honestly what do you expect with macarons so cheap? Secondly, the lady wasn’t very friendly and gave me the wrong assorted macarons when I specifically said which one I wanted. Didn’t want to stay there any longer so I just took it and left. Lastly, the prices for everything else was pretty expensive. $ 2.75 for a super little bag of dried mangoes? I can get a much bigger one for maybe a dollar more.

Their pande ube(taro) is probably the best just as long as you get them straight out of the oven. The bagged ones are mediocre at best. DONOT try and venture by getting their chicken empanadas. By far, they are the worst I have ever tasted(not being dramatic). The chicken tasted like they’ve been siting in a microwave for days.

Best macarons in the South Bay. Clean but small establishment Friendly and helpful staff Delectable baked goods, bread and other Pinoy dishes Reasonable prices Love that they have whole wheat pan de sal. South Bay’s best local go-2-place to satisfy my Pinoy cravings.

This review is solely for their french macarons. They had a great review here at Unilocal so I wanted to try them, just coz i love macarons!!! $ 11 for 12 macarons was definitely a STEAL and certainly the cheapest I paid. I know i get what I paid for that’s why i did not have any high expectations for these cute macarons. Anyways… the macaron shell was good, a little crisp on the outside, but chewy in the inside. Just the way i like it. My problem is the filling. I dont know what they used but they have to change their recipe a bit. It tasted really buttery or too creamy and some were a little salty. The only decent filling was the green tea, the rest were inconsistent and mostly too buttery that the flavor was not there at all. I’d rather pay $ 0.50 more for a better filling. If they can get that right, then I’d definitely come back and buy more. Maybe search a different ganache filling recipe that are popular in youtube. Just a suggestion! Other than that, macarons are good price and taste just OK.

I’ve been coming to this bakery since I was a kid. Even when Red Ribbon opened up next to Seafood City, I still preferred this place over any other trendy Filipino bakery. This family owned business will always have a special place in my heart– especially those chicken empanadas! They’re baked and not heavy and greasy like the ones you find elsewhere. My coworkers love them so much that I’m always asked to pick some up when we have special events at work. They’re pandesal, in my opinion, is just right –and it now also comes in wheat. They also now take card! I hope this family continues to run this bakery for many generations to come :)

I smelled something good. It’s a bakery. I’ve got to try it. I was walking back to my pickup after getting some lunch at Pokè Etc and I had a whiff of something being baked. It smelled so good. It was emanating from this small Filipino bakery. I checked out the stuff inside and they have a bunch of Filipino goodies. The first thing that got my attention was the Chicken Empanada. Unfortunately this was not to my liking. Too much dough, not enough meat. What I was smelling was freshly made Pork Siopao. Those were good. But they didn’t put any sauce in my to go bag. A no no in my opinion. Instead of being special, it was just good. The Mini Bibingkas were still warm. Those were delicious. The cheese made these Bibingkas sing. This I would get again for sure. A hit, a miss and an incomplete. A solid 3 Stars to start. I’ll come back to try other things and update later. The mini bibingkas were good though. I’ll try the regular size next time for sure. Lol. Try them out yourself and decide.

My son loves the bread. He can eat it all day everyday. We love making Ham, Egg or Cheese sandwiches and their bread is just perfect to bring to work. The macarons are really good. I love the green tea, guava and thai tea flavor. And sometimes the surprise flavors they have. Their products will always be on our list, may it be a regular day or a special occasion.
